here we are- how did that happen ?

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 23/03/2012 10:24

Just remembered - neighbour watch update.

They have brought in a huge quantity of turf to lay, - so could it be that they are just having a new lawn?? - it seems beyond mad given they have young grandchildren, perhaps its a football pitch/tennis court/ bowls green.
A lawn is such an anti climax - I am still holding out hope for something bizarre.

The bit I find slightly hilarious is that they've also had a big fancy hose machine thing attached to the side of their house - presumably to water the grass. But our region has a hosepipe ban starting on April 1st.

If they break that rule I shall definitely dob them in.

NedSchneebly · 23/03/2012 10:25

Sorry, am really behind with everything. Just wanted to pop in and wave before I go deckchair shopping with my parents. They want to get me a nice chair/ lounger to sit in the garden. Yay!

Will have a good read and catch up this afternoon once parents gone, and post properly then.

Hope the sun is shining where you are x x x

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/03/2012 10:33

feel better soon gig xx
very sunny here- and drama in our road- someone has had a bag of manure dumped on their car !

KurriKurri · 23/03/2012 10:54

Hello Ned - hope you are feeling Ok. A chair/sun lounger is will be lovely - what nice parents Smile

MAS Shock how awful, - do you know of any old grudges going on, or was it a freaky accident?.

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/03/2012 11:41

not sure ! it's been cleared up now...

'afternoon all. Off to see Mr Heart Specialist soon to find out his views of things. After yesterday's good news and the good news about my BP, I'm really hoping this'll be good too.

Brew out for all...especially those feling Envy or Sad or Angry or Confused

Gigondas · 23/03/2012 13:36

Vibes for amber.
Shock!re Mas

The delightful news is its the anti bios making me feel shit . Gp was lovely tho ( and reassuring re chest scan - although words are cheap as drs thought lump would be ok ) and doesn't think infection at point needs pus porn type steps etc. just I have to feel hungover and hang around loos for next 10 days.

Rads cannot be worse than this Angry

Gigondas · 23/03/2012 13:36

Meant re neighbours car- thats tv worthy

SparkleRainbow · 23/03/2012 13:56

Smee we lived in NY state for about 7-8 months. Wish it had been longerm we didn't want to come back. No real suggestions for NYC, just the normal tourist bits, now if you were going upstate (which I know you're not) then I could suggest some fanastic places.

Kurri - you're kidding a lawn.....thats it!

Gigondas · 23/03/2012 13:59

I never say "just a lawn" to dh- he relaid ours last year. It involved work and planning akin to doing the channel tunnel.

We are now expected to admire lawn often and comment on how much nicer it is than neighbours.

KurriKurri · 23/03/2012 14:32

I'm glad GP was reassuring Gig, - but horrid that you still feel grotty - keep taking the yogurts, several a day to replace your gut bacteria

I'm disappointed with the lawn too Sparkle, - but holding on to the hope that they are having a lawn + something else. There has been a huge amount of activity today - heaving turf by wheelbarrow along the waste ground, along the field at the back of our garden and into their garden.

Now if you can picture the lay out, they also have a front garden - all concrete where they park their 3 cars, and a wide pathway through to the back of their house, - it would be a much shorter route if they'd had the turf dumped on the concrete and took it that way round.

But I won't tell them that Grin

amberlight · 23/03/2012 15:32

Heart thingy is something technical that means it goes out of rhythm when I exercise. I knew that Hmm He says it's not serious, just annoying/scary and means I need to stop when it happens and let it recover. Just what I need - something else to factor in that's annoying/scary. I know I should be really pleased that my heart isn't about to stop, but I'm right out of Gladness at the moment. I think I need tea.

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/03/2012 15:39

Don't pacemakers sort that out amber ? my MIL has one as hers went a bit haywire. Anyway,am glad you are getting answers sort of- all a bit whirly making.
Could you manage some green tea ? it might be soothing for gig too (moroccan mint- v refreshing)

OP posts:
Gigondas · 23/03/2012 15:49

Oh thanks Mas- Smile. Yes still feeling like hungover/morning sickness with none of upside of getting drunk or a baby. Out in garden now while mini gig gazes at tree ad midi gig plays.

Gigondas · 23/03/2012 15:51

And amber I can see why you are having a being wobble. Did he offer no how to cope tips?

amberlight · 23/03/2012 16:09

Gig, not really. He knows it's not a fatal sort, so his advice is just sort of 'well when it does it, stop until it recovers', which is advice both accurate and useless, if you see what I mean. I'd actually rather not have it. Could well be another herceptin thingy, it seems. Maybe that means it'll recover.

Thanks for the tea, MAS.

jchocchip · 23/03/2012 16:34

Having a redbush tea here, rather overdid the caffine at lunch! Bit grey here though bright at the same time. Rather enjoyable natter at lunchtime with ex boss and a nice drive past the Cow and Calf rocks. Ilkley is sooo civilised :)

:) at the lawn. Ours hasn't quite recovered from last years extension, but so much to do,its not a priority.

:( at the heart rhythm amber, must be worrying.

Love mint tea mas. Thought fortnums teapot was reminiscent of a moroccan one. I bought a teapot in Rabat but haven't used it yet. I'm going to plant some mint in the garden this summer. (in a pot so it doesn't take over)

jchocchip · 23/03/2012 16:37

One local farmer had an arguament with a bank a few years back.. seem to remember a slurry tank and a tractor being involved :D

jchocchip · 23/03/2012 18:49

collecting frogs and staching them under beds is just another example of the cat being an agent of chaos! as soon as I notice them, chaos ensues...

time for another Brew. Need to clean house before dds party tomorrow. Must check for stray frogs...

Gigondas · 24/03/2012 08:12

Good luck with frog hunt and dds party j.

Need someone to sit on paranoia box... Despite 2 separate visits to Gp (Went again yesterday to double check). I am still panicking about my wound - everything from whether infection actually going to whether the swelling (which is likely fluid ) is tumour coming back. Oncologist has also seen it as has radiotherapists (admittedly not to check) but think they might have said something if it looked abnormally large.

Surgeon is back next week I think to check it.

Yes you can see that a week of feeling unwell has conceded to drive me quite mad.

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/03/2012 08:56

gig am hopping on the box for you...it is most.most likely to be infected wound rather than anything sinister -but it's making you feel rotten so no wonder you're suffering from Miss P. Really hope it heals soon.

Apparently the manure on the car was compost, stolen from my friend Sarah's wheelbarrow in the next road -the felons also dumped some on her car - grrrr

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 24/03/2012 08:56

hope dd has a fab and frog-free party jane

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 24/03/2012 09:24

Good luck with DD's party jane - hope you all have a lovely time.

Gig - you are feeling poorly, have been on AB's, and probably sleep deprived. Not surprising paranoia creeps in, but try to take comfort from what the doctor's have said. - By the way don't worry about asking people to check it - they will be very happy to reassure you.

Can you get a bit of rest today, and get into the sunshine? We will sit on the paranoia box for you.

And just to let you know you are not going mad Grin - I'm nearly four years form DX and yesterday I had a couple of moments of panic over a back ache. It happens to us all. The gift that keeps on giving Hmm Grin

MAS - how strange about the compost - just a random act of vandalism then do you think? why do people do these things? - very annoying for your friend to lose her compost though.

Neighbours continuing to perfect their new lawn - surely this is true madness when there is going to be a hosepipe ban? - DH and I were laughing this morning, because I said 'what on earth will they do if they get a mole?' - we were imagining them out there with bazookas and machine guns trying to catch it Grin

LimeJellyforBrains · 24/03/2012 10:02

Frog hunt and party Jane? Combine the two! They'll love it....

Sorry Kurri but I couldn't help being tickled by "very annoying for your friend to lose her compost though" - from a non-driving gardener not bothered about car? Grin Not for long!

Gig I shall plant my large derriere on the paranoia box for you today while you get out and enjoy the sun. Your comment about miniGig gazing up at trees made me Smile and brought back happy memories!

I was out a a gig last night! Shock Band called Soulfish playing for local Mencap at British Legion. A great night. Legs and feet very achy tho from all the standing/jiggling. Bonus of hardly drinking these days is being able to drive to and from nights out tho!

NedSchneebly · 24/03/2012 10:15

Morning all - hope sun shining where you are today. I love it - it has contributed so much to me feeling so much better this end of the week. Found a lovely luxury expensive Blush lounger, that my lovely parents treated me to. I bought them lunch. It seemed a very fair swap!

I am doing OK here - some sore patches on my tongue, and residual grittiness from the oral thrush, but on the up, I think. Less tired, as Dr Lovely upped my AD dose (she had started me on below minimum dose anyway), so am sleeping loads better.

Kurri Your neighbours sound fun people to live next door to Hmm Sorry to hear that they are only building a lawn. Surely some kind of industrial bunker at the very least, with all the work they have done?! What news of your referral? Have they sent you a date yet? Dr. Knobber continues to live up to his name I see. . .

big hugs for you, my lovely. Budge over and I'll do a shift on the paranoia box for you. So sorry to hear you're feeling rotten. Bugger those infections. . . Will you be able to get some rest today? When does the rads start? (Sorry if I missed that bit of info)

Jchoc hope DD has a lovely party today. Hope the frog quotient can be kept to a minimum!

Amber has your heart chap not given you any idea of what could be done to help sort your ticker out? Pacemaker a possibility? Sorry you have been through the ringer a bit this week. Good news on the surgeon's check up though - yay!

smee NY? Envy Bet you'll have a cracking time! I love your carpe diem approach to life - worry about the repayments MUCH later!

Topsy Any news back from bc nurse? Did I miss that? Sorry if I did. Thinking of you x

Figgy Your DS has my sympathies. Being observed is SUCH hard work. Outstanding features excellent for lesson obs - an increasingly hard to get, with all new OFSTED inspection bollocks criteria. And Satisfactory is such a damning word, even when it means everything is OK.

Am chuckling at the thought of greylady negotiating illicit hairdryer swaps on the doorstep. . . Glad you're feeling better, and managed to enjoy your birthday x

This is a monstrous post, but I feel better for having done a bit of catching up. Waves to MAS, Sparkle, Sometimes, Holsten, and anyone else around this morning

Big hugs to all x x x x x x x x x x x and Thanks too, why not?!
