Can you tell me what you (honestly!) eat in a day?

I'm getting blood tests for weight loss this week - yeah, yeah, I know, poor me, huh? This isn't stealth boasting though - I am concerned and so is GP. However, I do wonder if I am actually eating enough or if I have lost sight of what is 'normal'. Or if I'm just busy and burning it off?

OP posts:

"TBH i couldn't quite understand why you felt the need to start commenting so negatively on other people's diet on a thread which was started by someone just looking for information."

Quite.

I posted a typical day's eating yesterday, not what I actually ate, because op wanted to know if she was eating enough.

I don't think any of us who responded in order to try and be helpful to nethuns expected or invited patronising comments from some other randomer barging in on her thread.

BalloonSlayer · 10/01/2012 17:35

I had to smirk at the "few mouthfuls of DH's ben and Jerry's" bbface, I nearly posted to tell you to leave your sex life out of this thread.

CEDR · 10/01/2012 17:43

Good work chandon
Today I had three clementines and a chocolate miniroll for brekkie. Had crisps as a snack, then leftover mashed sweet potato for lunch. I've cycled about 5 miles and walked 4 today. Planning a big carbonara for dinner! Yum

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 10/01/2012 17:47

Shock CEDR. How do you function on so little food? I exercise almost never less than you, but if I ate that little I'd be ravenous, shaking, faint, and snapping at anyone unfortunate enough to cross my path! oh that's right, that happens anyway if I don't eat every two hours

wahwahwah · 10/01/2012 17:56

So according to the site, aft i have had dinner, i can have something with 226 calories, 61g carbs, 16g protein, and 2g of fat. Not wishing to miss out on my nosh quota, what can I eat...

sitsyou · 10/01/2012 17:58

and according to that site I can only have 31 calories for my dinner (with -5 fat) Sad!!

sitsyou · 10/01/2012 17:59

it's good though and making me think about what I eat (so is this thread)

wahwahwah · 10/01/2012 17:59

Lots of celery for you then!

sitsyou · 10/01/2012 18:05

whoopee. I have some salad stuff which I guess I could have.

wahwahwah · 10/01/2012 18:06

If you go for a run around the block, you can 'earn' some food.

wahwahwah · 10/01/2012 18:09

Bugger. Just remembered the brioche i had this morning...

happybubblebrain · 10/01/2012 18:12

I eat loads. I have varying breakfasts, some biscuits and tea mid morning. Sandwhiches, crisps and fruit for lunch. Lots of chocoate, biscuits and fruit in the afternoon. Some toast or a snack when I get home, then a big vegetarian dinner with lots of vegis. Then a pudding, cake etc. And then I usually have another snack later on - cheese and crackers, or another pudding. I am a bit chubby though, size 12. I love food and I'd much rather eat lots and be chubby than always on a diet and thin.

sitsyou · 10/01/2012 18:14

ooh can I? (haven't got to the exercise bit of the site yet). Have to look after young DCs though so cant abandon them to run round the block! And DH is always late home and by then I really can't be arsed to do anything other than watch telly (and eat!)

wahwahwah · 10/01/2012 18:15

But I am sure you have at least walked a bit today... It all counts!

sitsyou · 10/01/2012 18:17

DD is ill so have been housebound since Sunday! I did walk to the doctors and back though pushing 2 in a pram (up a steep hill on the way back) Grin

Today I've had

Breakfast - one weetabix, cup of tea with 1 sugar

mid morning - coffee, 1 sugar

lunch - piece of bread and a banana

Afternoon - cup of tea

dinner - mixed beans chilli and rice, small portion

This is pretty normal for me, I rarely snack though did more over Christmas. This thread has depressed me a little, I've realised again I don't eat much compared to other people but just can't lose weight. I'm 5ft7 and 10.5 stone. When I tried slimming world I put weight on :( I know my body is screwed up.

zookeeper · 10/01/2012 18:58

Mouthful of delish apricot trifle still in fridge from weekend
Tea (will be) - chicken curry with green beans, lo fat greek yoghurt with blueberries and strawberries and pumpkin seeds.

2 decaf coffees, 2 decaf teas, 2 glasses wine.

I lo carb apart from brekkie. This is a typical day. I go to the gym 2 two to 3 times a week.

FleetwoodandFairycakes · 10/01/2012 19:34

Back again!

Today:

Breakfast: 2 x boiled eggs, some pear (as per), cup of tea with full fat milk
No snack today as was too busy
Lunch: About a quarter of a quiche, some salad, some olives, some artichoke hearts
Mid-afternoon: A cup of tea with milk, half an apple turnover
5ish: mini crunchie, some olives, some sundried tomatoes in oil

Haven't yet had dinner but am going to do a beef and vegetable stir fry, with rice or noodles. A glass of juice. Possibly something sweet, like chocolate. Possibly a glass of milk.

As I said before I find this interesting to get an idea of how much I eat in relation to other people. My BMI (I have just worked out) is 19.2. I think I eat about a medium amount (with a fair amount of rubbish too). Although maybe others would think a small amount?
It looks like I don't eat a lot as I don't eat it at one go but often graze. For the sake of my heart etc I should cut down on fatty/sugary foods, especially as I do no exercise. Just hate it! I also tend towards the carb heavy, apart from breakfast.

It's also very useful to get ideas for what else to eat, especially for lunch! Thanks guys Grin

FleetwoodandFairycakes · 10/01/2012 19:58

Apple turnover was full of cream btw. Grin
