ameliagrey - I really do think you need to chill out. As you will see from my post above, I have had a rather rocky road with eating (hospitalized for anorexia in the past) but have learnt that there is no need or call to be judgemental about what others eat. If you are involved in, say, primary healthcare, by all means educate. Bear in mind however that everyone who posts on this thread will be aware if what is and is not good for them (bearing in mind (a) that it is personal - eg it would realllly not be "good" for me to eat two ryvita for my lunch; and (b) the jury is out on what is actually "good" for us en masse - so for instance, there is a significant school of thought which thinks that animal fats are BETTER for you than many of the processed oils in low fat spreads etc) and will make their own choices on a daily basis.
So, for instance, I have learnt to value the choice of socialising and enjoying a meal with friends over and above the fact that the contents of that meal might make me feel uncomfortable. If served with something unhealthy, or if everyone else was scoffing fish and chip say, I would now just eat up and shut up and get on with enjoying myself, rather than requesting a salad (yawn).
Obviously we all have totally different metabolic needs as well and some of your earlier posts seem to completely miss the point about bmi - the taller you are, the more you need to weigh to be healthy. I, for instance am 5'11". So at over ten stone, I am pretty skinny with a bmi of about 20.5. I am a size 10, occasionally a size 8. My jeans are 26 or 27. I was hospitalised weighing about 7 and a half stones, with a bmi of around 15-16, I think (its a bit hazy....). But If I were 5 foot - 7.5 stones would be normal for me, or maybe not even that slim... If you are going to be so so critcal (which really is uncalled for) you need to understand how bmi works.
Sorry to get at you (I really wouldn't normally respond), but this is, I admit, a subject which pushes my buttons, and I think that we, as women en masse, really, really need to stop criticising eachother about what we eat! I have not seen a single daily diet on here that I would consider to be badly unhealthy. A bit chaotic - sure - but then we are, for the most part, busy parents juggling two million things a day!
