This thread is for everyone who wants to stick to their diet, and would like to benefit from public support in doing so.

Rules for participants:

  1. Define your own limits - post them here or keep to yourself, but be clear and specific about which foods are allowed and which ones are not;

  2. Keep your diary - post here on a daily basis what you've eaten, and how this deviates - if it does - from your goals;

  3. Be honest;

  4. 1 month commitment required - which means that even if you have a diet slip, you are still expected to keep posting your daily reports (and hopefully get back on track in the meantime) until at least 1 February;

Feel free to talk about anything health and diet related - especially the difficulty you're facing when trying to change your eating habits - but please be supportive and sensitive to other people's decisions/choices. Negative or judgemental posts about somebody else's ability to keep to their promises strictly not allowed.

Remember - this thread is more about making it happen than talking about it.

Believe in yourself! You're doing this to become a better YOU.

MamaGeekChic & Glenshee Think you might be right about the evening exercise as I feel very jumpy when I don't eat late at night. My main source of exercise is normally right after lunch. What is the shred like? 20 minutes is a possibility as DS would probably try to do it with me!

Today's report:

Last night: whole wheat flatbread baked with olive oil, tomato, onions and feta about six minutes BEFORE cutoff
Breakfast: flax toast and a handful of blueberries
Lunch: Poached egg, cheese, pemeal bacon on a ww english muffin. Basically eggs benedict without the good stuff!
Dinner shall be: borscht, baked potato, roasted peppers and steaks. I shall aim to fill up on the borscht.

Glenshee that must be really hard with the coffee. Especially smelling it from others. Props to you for your restraint.

MamaGeekChic · 06/01/2012 19:45

I guess the best way to describe it is circuit training, it's tough going but just about bearable for 20mins...

Think I'm having sugar withdrawals... I've had a headache all day :(

Tillyscoutsmum · 06/01/2012 20:43

Day 5

Brekkie - Cereal bar and smoothie
Lunch - Spicy Veg & Bean soup and wholemeal roll
Dinner- Jacket Potato, cottage cheese, Ham and tomato salad

Friday Night "treat" - 5 salted caramel buttons (very nice but the 5 have made me want to polish off the whole packet)

I'm desperately trying to avoid weighing myself until Monday morning but I'm very tempted. I've also ordered the 30 day shred dvd

MegBusset - well done on the 2lb off Smile

Woolwif · 06/01/2012 22:14

Day 5...and I still haven't succumbed to chocolate

Bfast: porridge
Lunch: piri piri chicken salad wholemeal sandwich
Dinner: roasted salmon with plum tomatoes and cottage cheese
Snacks: none, have just got braces for my teeth and are such a pain to take out to eat, that snacking hasn't been worth the effort.
Drinks: 1 tea, 1 diet coke, lots of water as only thing allowed with braces in

Weight loss 3.5 lbs, hooray. Am going to relax a bit this weekend as have been a bit over-zealous this week for it to be sustainable long term, I think. So hopefully knowing I will post to the thread means I will treat myself without totally troughing out, that's the cunning plan anyway.

MamaGeekChic · 06/01/2012 22:43

had 3 digestives with NAS Jam- 201cals... headache gone! Was going to have porridge but we have none left apparently :(

gomummygo · 06/01/2012 23:31

Vanfurgston - You don't really taste it, it's the texture of any other multigrain/whole grain toast with the little seeds in it. I'm big on flax, ground or not, put it into everything. Omega3's and all that. :)

Well done Meg and Woolwif on the weight loss!

Guess it was the sugar Mama, hope it stays gone.

Is this shred dvd available on ebay? Is it actually called that?

MamaGeekChic · 06/01/2012 23:37

its called 30 day shred, i got it new on amazon for about a fiver

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/01/2012 09:08

So, I am starting Day 6 and the lure of the scales was just too much Grin I am 12 stone exactly so have lost 6lb Grin. I will be a bit less strict over the weekend so suspect I won't lose any more for a few days.

vanfurgston · 07/01/2012 10:09

(clapping emoticon) Tillyscouts mum that's awesome 1 lb a day

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/01/2012 10:23

I suspect its more of an indication of how much of a greedy porker I was before, if I'm honest Grin

MegBusset · 07/01/2012 12:59

That's great TSM :)

gomummygo · 07/01/2012 17:05

Wow Tilly! Congrats.

Vanfurgston - it's in all the grocery stores here (with the multigrain bread usually), but I'm in Canada, so probably not that helpful. I'd be happy to ship you some but it would likely be a bit stale upon arrival! Grin

MamaGeekChic · 07/01/2012 18:25

Dinner - Mushroom Omelette & salad

3 coffees, 1 tea and numerous glasses of water. Still waiting for the shred dvd to arrive but we did go for a walk (to the pub !), so that was about 6 miles round trip.

Woolwif - no, not too bad at all for a day-off surely! I'm well impressed.
