Spacecadet has asked me to get everyone who was concerned about her know, that she was admitted to hospital last night. she is currently in MAU, where she will be for up 48 hours depending on how she responds to treatment. She had another chest x-ray and is on IV antibiotics and also a drip as she was dehydrated. She has asked me to say thankyou to everyone who was concerned about her.

Thank heavens! Space sounded in a bad way, husband. PLEASE take care of her! Lots of us have had pneumonia that was misdiagnosed or that we didn't care for properly, and wound up needing hospital treatment. I spent a week in hospital (including Christmas) after getting pneumonia as a complication of flu and not taking it seriously enough. Some have even lost loved ones to it. It's such a serious disease.

Thank you for updating us about her.

Marina · 09/01/2006 09:33

She has had such a horrible time lately
Please send her our very best for a swift exit from MAU and better health in 2006
Thanks for the update sch

awww poor spacey .. still best place for her at least she might just get a little rest now .. it is virtually impossible to recover from a bad chest infection when you also have to look after other people ,.. you need total rest

best place for her

hope you have adequate childcare sorted

Marina · 09/01/2006 09:57

MAU = Medical Assessment Unit mts. As featured in No Angels on Channel 4!
Short-stay medical ward for quick-resolve cases - either you are sent home (better of course) or transferred to an in-patient ward. I think you are only meant to be on MAU for max of 48 hours.

Marina · 09/01/2006 10:01

D'you think he's gone grey anywhere else you kinkster?

spacecadetshusband · 09/01/2006 10:01

Thanks for all your messages, spacecadet was very keen that I post for her as she says it was thanks to everyone on mumsnet that she went back to hospital, the doctor who saw her yesterday was horrified that she had been sent home the previous day and within minutes of being examined, she had bloods taken and an line in her arm.
Mummytosteven, MAU, is the medical admissions unit, its just like an extension of casualty but with proper beds, according to E who has worked in medical admissions, she said its like a holding bay for people who have been admitted to casualty, who need a ward. She is not happy being in there she has phoned this morning and complained that she has had no sleep!

If so, Marina, there's always back, sack and crack for the blokes. The male version of the Brazilian.

Marina · 09/01/2006 10:02

sch, I bet it was noisy and chaotic. Really hope she is home soon.
