Are you saying I'm fat ??? Grin

smee · 21/11/2011 22:30

She's talking about the shoes, Topsy. Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 21/11/2011 22:55

hooray for cat -excellent news - celebrate definitely !
drift hope you are ok- was worried about you being anxious on the radiotherapy thread.
jane Morocco sounds exciting !
Oh dear, have turned down a job today because realistically am very pushed for time- it wouldn't be a big job but am trying to keep a balance.

OP posts:
jchocchip · 21/11/2011 22:57

Noooo, you're not fat! Even my cat wouldn't fit in the spare space in my case!

jchocchip · 21/11/2011 23:01

Shame to turn down work, it is good to know your limits, MAS.

MaryAnnSingleton · 21/11/2011 23:08

it was also a case of knowing I might have to draw something not quite to my taste, which sounds awful (not the subject, but what the client thinks they want- I get a foreboding- I find these jobs very stressful)

Well picked DD up after chemo in my new, hideously self indulgent car, as I bought it I could hear DH saying bonkers, bonkers, bonkers! Anyway on the way home she very theatrically threw up!!!! Projectile vomiting with bells on.......such a proud mama! But she feels better now, Mummy's special potato cakes did the trick!

OneInEight · 22/11/2011 06:10

Cat64 - great news - must be such a relief not to have chemo.

Topsy - when I had uncontrollable itchiness the excema bath creams e.g. Balneum and Oilatum gave relief (albeit temporary). I found E45 cream aggravated the itchiness as it was too solid too smear on so try something more liquid. Anti-histamines might help if allergy related but I would only try this on advice of your doctor. Hope the itchiness doesn't stop you sleeping as I found this the worst bit.

Waves to everyone else.

Figgyroll · 22/11/2011 06:27

Morning all. Brew is available and, when I've woken up properly, I'll be making lots of toast.

Amber, is it your first rads session today? Good luck if it is. Hope it all goes well.

Brilliant news for Cat64 - feel free to shout as loud as you like, that really is something to celebrate.

Jane, hooray for booking the flights. It's lovely that you'll have something fab to look forward to in January.

MAS, it's far better to turn a job down than to spend hours or even days fretting over it.

ILGC Shock not in your new car? I hope it cleans up okay. But well done on your lovely DD getting through another chemo session. Special potato cakes sound yummy - what's the special ingredient?

I've woken up all bunged up and have a blocked up ear which is sore - a visit to the docs again methinks.

Hope you all have a lovely day without too much stress or worry.

topsyturner · 22/11/2011 06:43

ILGC tell your DD their she doesn't have to be sick after chemo . If she suffers particularly with this tell her to ask for a syringe driver . Fabulous things !

Morning figgy

Jane now have mad vision of you trying to squeeze your cat into your suitcase Grin

Woke up far to early this morning . Have scratchy throat and headache . Think DD might have infected me ...

jchocchip · 22/11/2011 07:01

Morning all. You are up early! I'll have a Brew thanks Figgy :) Topsy, I'm not taking Andi the cat - although he quite likes going in bags of the brown paper variety, he would hate to be shut in a suitcase! and it would be cruel.

jchocchip · 22/11/2011 07:02

Must dash penultimate rads today :)

topsyturner · 22/11/2011 07:05

But if you do attempt to squeeze Andi in , please video it Grin
The last cat I owned allowed me to live with it would have ripped my arm off and beaten me to death with it , if I tried putting her in a suitcase !

DeeScent · 22/11/2011 09:12

Morning ladies. Brew and Biscuit

Having our new boiler fitted today (hooray!). Have had two weeks of coping with portable heaters and am just so grateful for the relatively mild weather where we are dahn sarf .

Day 4 of Tamoxifen and yesterday some nausea, diarrehoa (sp) and slight stomach cramps have appeared. Not too bad so far but wouldn't want it to get worse or have 5 years of it.

Did any one else get this at the start and did it settle down as your body got used to the drug? I really want to avoid taking any other drugs to deal with the sickness but I guess it would be useful to know if anyone took anti-nausea drugs. [being brave emotion]. I don't "do" nausea after 7 months of vomiting when pregnant with dd!

LOL at Topsy's violent assertive cat.

cakesandale · 22/11/2011 09:25

2old2be - just waving, I don't have anything useful to say, but I hope KK was able to help.

Cat - woo hoo for your news. Fantastic. I am so pleased x

Love to everyone else x

Driftwood999 · 22/11/2011 09:26

That was a long anxious wait Cat64, Oh the relief you must feel now, takes a while to sink in doesn't it? Hi everyone, I had a call from the secretary of the Rads Dr. offering me the initial appointment to discuss matters so that is for Thursday. Just waiting to hear that my gp has letter from surgeon, so that I can collect my prescription for Tamoxifen. I've totally stopped the hrt now so doing all the right things. I think the seroma has peaked and I'm hopeful that it is shrinking, I'm rationing myself to only having a good feel of it once a day in the shower, so as to avoid disappointment Grin It was hard not to get obsessed by it at first. Best wishes to all, whatever you are dealing with today.

DeeScent · 22/11/2011 09:40

Drift I can sympathise with the seroma obsession!! So glad to hear it's on its way out at last. Hopefully the rads appt will clarify things in your own mind about going forward. it's just trying to cope with things one step at a time isn't it? I feel pretty normal now - post-op apart from a bit of nausea so it's hard now to "volunteer" for rads and possible pain, but I know I just need to focus on being normal again in Feb.

cakesandale · 22/11/2011 10:16

Hi Dee and Drift - it's good to see you are both feeling so positive.

Rads won't cause you too much discomfort, skin can be a bit sore, but it is all more of an inconvenience than a major issue. And the very clear light at the end of that particular tunnel should be very visible by now, which is a huge plus.

See, smee? My position is queen of distractions is unassailable

MaryAnnSingleton · 22/11/2011 10:36

do agree with cakes about rads- it is sometimes sore making and inconvenient, but I do think essential.
Am having a break to meet 2 friends for coffee at the Costa - hope there are croissants..

OP posts:
cakesandale · 22/11/2011 10:57

Have one for me if there are

I'm having a break too, to get my hair cut, I look a bit like A Flock of Seagulls at the moment

smee · 22/11/2011 11:40

Waah...! Bloomin' cat left me a present of a baby rat under the living room rug. Not so much a distraction as a Shock. Cakes, nobody is unassailable - I have (disclaimer: this is rather yuk and bizarre!) just been photographing said dead rat for DS, as it was sadly v.cute.

ILGC, your poor DD. Vomiting's horrid, but it does make you feel better. Are you sure it wasn't caused by your driving? Grin

Jane, I need to come to Morocco. It will be hot and I need heat as am too mean to put the heating on. I love Marrakech, though have never been to Rabat. Envy

Yeay for seroma shrinking, Drift. That's a good sign. By Christmas, I'd bet it will just be a bad memory. Smile

Dee, not sure on Tamoxifen. I didn't have any stomach problems. They say some women get side effects for the first little bit before it calms down, so might be worth sticking with it for a week or so to see? Hooray for heat. Hope they don't take all day. Smile

Figgy, definitely get a GP appt. I got lots of niggly things just after treatment had finished. Think it's because you're flattened by it all.

Waving to OneinEight. How are you feeling now? Hope okay-ish.

Better do some work. Have been faffing for hours..

cakesandale · 22/11/2011 12:52

oh I like rats Sad Not in the house obv, but they are cute. Good procrastination though, I am impressed.

amberlight · 22/11/2011 13:23

Oh sddy sd s*d!!!
Got to official first day of radiotherapy, got me on the bed, and found that the ruddy measurements were useless as the planning machine is a Different Size from the treatment machine. I was the second one this morning who had that same experience.

So they had to re-plan me again....and now I have to wait another week to start radio. Which means it'll be 10 weeks after surgery and well outside of the recommended start date, though no fault of my own. And I'm trying not to worry about that but I sort of am, all the same.

Brew anyone?

MaryAnnSingleton · 22/11/2011 13:31

bugger amber - what a total pain and how incompetent - grrrrr
Shoves croissant to cakes (and I had hot chocolate too)
Aww, poor baby rat - that would be a shock to find.
I can't remember having stomach aches or anything on my first weeks of tamoxifen -but obv. everyone will be different.
I do have tummy pain now though, for about a week, maybe a bit less- like before period pains-am wondering if it might be that (last one was 2 months ago)- gah !
