Shoes have been delivered today .
I am in luuurve .
Still can't figure out how to send photos to mumsnet from my phone , so you will have to wait for me to crank up the desk top if you want a perve at my recent purchases .
I have a pair of leopard print kitten heels , a pair of black patent dolly small heels , and a pair of red patent dolly small heels .

DS is at a friends house at the bottom of the street . DD at yet another Halloween gathering at her friends house in the next street . DH out walking pig/dog .
I am sitting here on the sofa waiting for the pizza delivery man to arrive .

Only had one set of trick or treaters so far , think it's a bit wet here for them [hgrin]

MaryAnnSingleton · 31/10/2011 19:01

mmm,shoes sound wonderful,esp red dolly ones !
No trick or treaters here yet- might be forced to eat all the treats...

Off to Turkey on Thursday[very early flight] so staying in hotel at the airport on Wednesday.I have packed Christmas pud, crackers, cards and stocking fillers as well as gifts for everyone. We are planning a trip to Ephesus and some lovely meals out by the sea.My dgd is 12 now and seems to speak less English than she did at 3 :( She is very shy and very beautiful.I spend so much time with the little boys and my step dgc that it will be special to have her to myself for a while.I'll be offline after tomorrow night so I havent deserted you.

janechocchip · 31/10/2011 20:23

I don't know who was worrying about long journey times to radiotherapy, but noticed today that my hospital in Leeds has hotel rooms that can be booked for free by patients. I wonder if other centres do something similar?

janechocchip · 31/10/2011 20:26

How exciting Pranma! Hope you have a pleasant journey and a lovely holiday with your family.

KurriKurri · 31/10/2011 20:40

Have a wonderful time pranma, and enjoy every minute with your beautiful dgd Smile

DeeScent · 31/10/2011 20:48

Hi everyone. Sorry not to be able to keep track of everyone's news.

I'm now two weeks beyond the wle/snb and am trying to get back to "normal" (although after bc dx I think normal looks a bit different).

The pain in my boob just keeps increasing Confused but I hope it's just what I've been reading about re pain as the nerves mend. Paracetamol and ibuprofen aren't really touching it now. Does anyone know if there's a drug more specifically for nerve pain that they might prescribe?

My boob and underarm just feel so sore and sort of heavy. Did any of you have this?

Just hoping the seroma won't delay rads - it's not too big.

I must admit I've lost my mojo a bit at the moment. Clinic on Weds for node biopsy and margins results. Everything seems a bit harder to cope with with this constant pain and if I need a second op, well....arrrgh!

The nurse on the helpline at the breastcancercare website has been so helpful and kind.

topsyturner · 31/10/2011 21:10

pranma have a great holiday . Hope you can soak up a bit of sunshine .

dee speak to your GP and get a prescription for pain relief . I was given Kapake (which I think is a sort of co-codamol)
And you are not being wimpy , you have had surgery , it bloody hurts sometimes !

That's interesting jane about the rooms . It's ok for the likes of me that lives near to a hospital , but I have been wandering what people who live a good distance do . It can be a long old trek for 2 minutes a day eh ?

Think the door knockers have stopped now . Just got all the fireworks going off now . They don't do Guy Fawkes over here , and do big fireworks displays for Halloween instead . So it will likely be a noisy night .
The DC are in a neighbours house watching a movie (just hoping it's not a spooky one !) and DH and I are watching the last Doc Martin of the series .

Cheeselet anyone ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 31/10/2011 22:25

cheeselets please - swap them for some Milka choc...
pranma -have a wonderful time in Turkey- all sounds lovely
dee my underarm was very sore for quite a while, and very swollen- it does subside though.
At the hospital I went to for radiotherapy (Southampton oncology centre) they offered hotel rooms for those coming from the Isle of Wight,or further away.
no trick or treaters here at all ! well, there were kids up and down the road, but they didn't knock on our door.

janechocchip · 31/10/2011 22:40

Aww at Doc Martin.

My trek would be a lot easier if it was a bit earlier, the traffic is bad at 6. I can't complain though. I left home at 4.30 and was back at 7.30 even with train and bus and waiting around and bus and train...

Thinking of you Dee and your results day Wednesday.

Right, I'm going to get to bed soon. So much for my early night! Too much time on the internet today. Maybe I should have a day off...

topsyturner · 31/10/2011 22:46

Na Night All .
Have stayed up past my bedtime again .
Not shoes this time , but handbags ...

My name is topsy and I have a problem Grin

butterfliesinmytummy · 01/11/2011 02:41

In docs waiting room, heartbeat about 400 and blood pressure on the ceiling ....

Ilovegeorgeclooney · 01/11/2011 03:06

Also in waiting room for doc, there are some weird people at a and e tonight, I know it is Halloween but.....well it is the Isle of Wight. BTW MAS I wasn't offered a room at Soton General, feel rather neglected. I might be rambling but I have temp of 39.6 so please excuse my idiocies. Now Topsy, shoes I can reject but bags.......................you are talking to a serious addict. The shortcut home for me is through Debenhams handbag section, don't know how that happened but there is a Jasper Conran one that I am waiting for the 20% reduction that will eventually come, then it will be mine all mine.......precious. Sorry, even in my feverishness condition I am aware I am going bonkers!

butterfliesinmytummy · 01/11/2011 03:35

All fine, fibroadenomas benign and the architectural distortion was a papilloma, removed and benign. Recommended 6 monthly mammograms (and MRI if I want) due to family history.

Time for a coffee?

Any appointments today?

butterfliesinmytummy · 01/11/2011 03:40

Ilgc, sorry you're in a and e but Halloween is a good time to visit! Lusting over bags is incredibly sane to me, and I think u are fine . Seriously tho hope u get seen soon x

DeeScent · 01/11/2011 04:26

Butterflies - you must be so relieved, so pleased for you! Good for your peace of mind that they are going to keep an eye on you.

OneInEight · 01/11/2011 04:30

Great news Butterflies.

janechocchip · 01/11/2011 06:54

Great news butterflies :)

Coffee? Yes please! Although after 3 hours may be a bit cold!

Just made some porridge. Does anyone else like that?

I hope they sorted out your temperature ilgc. Fraid I didn't take much notice of temperatures in the dc's - just fed them a bit of calpol and sponged them down... [bad mummy emoticon]

janechocchip · 01/11/2011 07:24

Aargh Frog in extension! Cat sniffing behind box, move box, frog jumps on my foot I scream, grab cat. Stupid frog hides and can't be found. Now have to let cat back in to flush out frog....

DeeScent · 01/11/2011 07:33

Could anyone tell me roughly how long their sentinel biopsy scar was please? Just got thinking that mine is longer than I thought it would be.

tries not to fret over things that she can't change

MaryAnnSingleton · 01/11/2011 07:39

hooray for butterflies -fantastic news !!!
ILGC how are you ? what was temperature about ? poor thing, hope all is well. Did you have to come over every day then,to Southampton ?
dee I cn't tell how long my SNB is -it's curved -I suppose the size might vary if they need to rummage around to grab the right nodes. Also it might look bigger soon after surgery and settle

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 01/11/2011 07:39

rough estimate-about an inch...

OP posts:
l4k · 01/11/2011 07:42

butterflies- thank goodness its all completely fine and you can relax and recover from the op.Very happy for you.

ilgc-hope you are home and well. Why such a High temp?

DeeScent · 01/11/2011 07:43

Thanks MAS.

(lovely image of jumble sale rummage to find nodes... Grin )

janechocchip · 01/11/2011 08:16

mine is nearly 3 inches! Bigger than I expected too. Fading now. Guess they had to rummage to find my nodes :)
