Thanks Sparkle. Yes it is a state primary. I didn't know that they couldn't insist on uniform - very useful to know that. I don't mind it as is - just a t-shirt and sweatshirt and the rest they can choose. Quite like the fact we have no huge choices to make every day, yet they can still be a bit individual iyswim.

That CITV thing sound terrifying. No wonder your DS is freaked!

janemacer, I used to go swimming in the Cadbury's pool. Not sure if it's still there, but it was built for the workers. Lovely old Victorian place. Does your DD want to do a Foundation Course? How exciting. Smile

Pink, well done on one down. Honestly you'll breeze through am sure. I wish you quick appointments and working machines. Smile

cakesandale · 05/10/2011 14:21

Pink - it will indeed soon be over now you have started. Slather on the cream every time you have a moment.

Janemacer - I think smee's pool IS still there. But in any case, I hope you get to sample some of the chocolate. A visit to cadbury World might be a plan - they keep handing chocolate to you all the time you are there (or they did, may be different now the Yanks own it)

cakesandale · 05/10/2011 14:22

Oh shit.

It seems I have been holding my pen to my chest all the time I was on the phone. I now have a big black inky patch all over my nice white and orange stripy top Angry

What an arse.

topsyturner · 05/10/2011 14:28

Hahahaa ! Grin

Chemo done and dusted . No picket line when we went in to the hospital and only a very small one when we left .
Clinic was very quiet though .
They left me attached to the saline drip for a while when chemo was done as I started feeling like I was going to hurl . But I feel fine now .

Thanks for the birthday wishes . Not doing anything , but thats all down to me wanting to go lie down on the sofa this afternoon .

cakesandale · 05/10/2011 14:40

Yay, good to see you back Topsy. The sofa awaits.

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/10/2011 14:49

hooray for topsy- was wondering about picket lines...
and well done pink -you'll soon be finished you'll see ~Smile
Bleep and Booster- I do remember (in my Blue Peter annual !) I was very afraid of the cybermen.
I'm sooo tired today- I just want to go to sleep, which won't do as I have work to do and piano to take ds to-then Waitrose delivery and am going over to observe the first cat injection, administered by dad !

cakes my shirt today is spattered with ink from past work- it won't come out-even with vanish-I love this shirt though. It has an enormous rip at the back as it's so worn so have to wear a cardi over it. Was hoping the dentist might see how impoverished I am.

Yeay for Topsy!! Sofa and eclairs sounds essential. For you I mean, not for me, as I have no excuse. Though I have to say it does sound rather attractive. Smile

Cakes, I'd bet it's permanent ink? Always the way.. + I am still terrified of Cybermen. Possibly my reluctance to let DS watch Dr Who is connected.

MAS, really hope Smog's compliant. Has the numbness worn off enough for fbs? Grin

topsyturner · 05/10/2011 15:18

DD is not afraid of Dr Who , Harry Potter etc . She is very brave .
Show her a Smurf though and she runs screaming from the room Grin

Hope Smog takes the injections well .
I used to have a cat that would rip your arm off if you tried anything like that !

Am on sofa , with the laptop and a big bag of salty pretzels . Yum .
Although I do have a full roast dinner to make yet , DH just can't get cooking at all . But he does all the ironing so I can't complain .

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/10/2011 16:02

salty pretzels - vv delicious !(and roast dinner-am impressed) Waitrose used to do giant soft pretzels sprinkled with big bits of seasalt which were heavenly...
We are going to give Smoggy his dinner and do it- he'll be so busily tucking in that he shouldn't notice. The needles are very thin too.

Cakes, my mum swears by soaking ink stained patch in milk......I know sounds mad, but I do remember her doing it with my white school shirt when I was a teenager....and it is worth a try! Sounds like the sort of thing I would do! Blush

salty prezels, very good for sickness, salt always helps me anyway Wink

The Cadbury pool was still there a couple of years ago, as was the free choccie when you went round the factory...who knows now with Kraft as the owners...maybe they give free cheese as you go round.
