Why might it hurt, MAS? Is it root canal or something? Sad

pinkstarlight · 23/09/2011 11:56

mas...aww poor you

cakes...the swines!! i hope they bake a nice maggot filled apple pie.

when i go out later i will staple the softie down with safety pins but first now i have blitzed the house an house an hours kip is calling me(terrible i know) so strange how you get that dip where you get instantly tired.

cakesandale · 23/09/2011 12:12

Yeah, it is Pink, it's like someone pulled the plug out and the energy just drained away. An hour of zzzzzzzs will do you the world of good.

SparkleRainbow · 23/09/2011 12:23

Wow ladies it took me over half anf hour to catch up!

Yeah Amber....!!!!! Too early for a Wine but I shall raise one to you and your clear margins later! I am so happy for you.

Dh surprised me yesterday and arranged for me to go and see some rescue kittens. I went after the dc are sorted, and as he and I could agree on which one to have......we are having two. Collecting them next friday, 9 weeks old, beautiful little boys, one ginger (almost peach in colour) and one dark tabby with beautiful eye liner.....am so indulgent, but they need a home, they have been sick with cat flu and recovered fully, they were abandoned at 4 weeks old by their mother's owner who took them to the vet and asked them to be put down! The rescuer took them into her home hand fed all five kittens for the first few weeks, every two hours.... they need a break in life, I can stretch the budgets to provide that I am sure Grin.....am such a soft touch.

smee · 23/09/2011 12:34

cakes, Shock about the apples. You'd have thought they'd have left at least some.

sparkle, am excited on your behalf. We will expect pics and lots of kitten updates. Have you told the kids yet? Smile

cakesandale · 23/09/2011 12:38

Ooh kittens, how exciting!

topsyturner · 23/09/2011 12:44

Ooooh kittens !
I luuurve kittens .

Yes mas , F in Surrey . I agree , very nice town . One of the few places in England I miss . My friend with the same surname as you is a potter in The Maltings there , she has just set up a new studio .
It's a small old world isn't it ?

Go for it re the nap pink . Sometimes the tiredness just hits you like a brick wall .

I have bathed , hoovered , washed the floors etc .
Time for lunch .
Debating whether its ok to have crisps and chocolate for lunch as its Friday ?

cakesandale · 23/09/2011 13:04

I've had Smarties and the world hasn't caved in so I am guessing the answer is 'yes'

amberlight · 23/09/2011 13:20

hoovering? Shock Who said that word?

Grin

Any of those smarties left?

Love the lesbian ambition!!

Sparkle, hurrah re the kitten!

cakesandale · 23/09/2011 13:24

Smarties are long gone

smee · 23/09/2011 13:26

Our hoover's covered in dust. Blush

How you today Amber. Still feeling chipper?

Topsy, Friday's are for treats and eating crisps is medicinal. Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/09/2011 13:37

chocolate and crisps -yes please !

Am very envious of kittens sparkle - how fab - have you thought of names yet ? the dcs will be so excited !
Have a good rest pink
Tooth isn't a root canal, though it's over a previous root canal,if that makes sense- I am just a bit wibbly about stuff being done to me,though he is gentle and very good. Should I mention what I'm taking/about bc ? my previous dentist was always very thorough in asking me about medications/whether I was pregnant etc etc.

KurriKurri · 23/09/2011 13:45

Hi all, have read all posts, Grin at your 'big dirty house' topsy (goodness knows what he'd say about mine!) and the Denmark/Primark confusion.

Your photos are lovely Smile My parents had a GSD when I was young, - she was a great dog - so gentle.

Kittens Sparkle - how exciting, they sound very sweet.

Cakes - ask any questions you like - will do my best to say something sensible!

Grr at dentist MAS, teeth are a bugger.

Have that nap Pink, you're bound to get dips of energy. Not sure what the solution to gaping is - I have the same problem. Those bras with a sort of lace insert at the top sometimes improve things.

Waving to everyone else, hope amber and Earth are feeling good today. Smee - how did DS get on with the cooking bus?

Doggy has her appointment at six tonight, - I am trying to persuade her it would be nice to have a bath for the vet, she is unconvinced. Grin - I hope they can sort her out, she's not really herself atm.

EarthMotherImNot · 23/09/2011 14:07

Afternoon allSmile Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the weekend.

I had a bath earlier and decided to step on the scales in the bathroom as the bath was filling. There is a 3lb difference in my weight since my mastectomyShock and before you all yell "big ones" the 3lb is weight gained. How, how can I lose a boob and gain 3lb. There is no justice. I'm off for a sulk!

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/09/2011 14:18

earth aww, it isn't fair but you really mustn't be stern with yourself.
Lots of good thoughts to your doggie KK - could you just give her a rub down with some talc or something (dog dry shampoo- !)

OP posts:
pinkstarlight · 23/09/2011 14:58

sparkle...those kittens will bring you lots of joy and laughter, your kids will be thrilled.

earth...awww just blame it on swelling and fluid.

talking about hoovers i brought myself a cheap one from tesco to leave upstairs so i dont have to cart my heavy henry up the stairs as its handle has broke.am thrilled its very light with brilliant suction and easily stored away.

well my hours kip turned into err 2 1/2 hours dont know how that happened now have an hour to do a food shop and get back groan.

pinkstarlight · 23/09/2011 15:01

kurri...forget the bath rub him down with baby wipes to freshen him up a bit.

amberlight · 23/09/2011 15:06

Yup, I'm feeling fine today thanks Smile apart from the silly cough virus that I've had for a week now. It'll go.

Earth, I agree with Pink - it's got to be fluid-related.

Pink, dare I ask what hoover you've ended up with? I've had a Dyson for years and tbh it's rubbish. Keeps breaking.

janemacer · 23/09/2011 15:18

i'm overdue my 2pm dip. just told my mum my dx and getting a slow stream of questions although have to answer questions about digital tv in between. just read through but finding it hard to concentrate. kittens! lovely. been out to look at rehab place for mum. if i can sell it to her it would be good if she went in while i have my radio. may go to acocks green later... friday is chocolate day! :D

SparkleRainbow · 23/09/2011 17:28

Jane you are living the high life visitng Acocks Green on a friday afternoon

Noe patience everyone, no kittens until next Friday...a whole week, I haven't told the children yet, and in fact as dh will be at home on friday I won't tell them but just bring the dc home from school to two bundles of fluff and cuteness. I promise to put photos up, as soon as possible. It gives me a week to get my camera working.

Earth, I think it is fluid too, although I was briefly jealous impressed by a 3lb boob Grin

topsyturner · 23/09/2011 18:29

I have figured out that , when I go for my pre chemo assessment and they weigh me , if I wear my softee I weigh a good 3/4 lbs lighter than when I wear Bobby the silcone Booby Grin
I am large of Nork !
Although my BCN took great pleasure in showing me the Really Huge Norks , made my eyes water .........

Takeaway and a bottle of wine tonight .
Haven't had any booze for nearly a month . I shall probably pass out after the first glass .

What are the plans for the weekend ?
DD and I have an opticians appointment tomorrow afternoon . I shudder at the thought of what that will cost me .

topsyturner · 23/09/2011 18:42

Oh and I have also just realised that my next chemo session is the 5th of October . Firstly this is my birthday , but never mind about that .
What is really concerning me is that is the day that Unison have scheduled a major strike over here . Everybody from school dinner ladies to nurses are taking part , but not doctors .

I am sure that they will try and keep as many hospital appointments in place as possible , but I am not sure how I feel about crossing a picket line . Not because I am scared of them , but more because I agree with what they are doing . I feel that the rights of health workers are being eroded in a major way , and that they have a right to protest .
What would you do ?

KurriKurri · 23/09/2011 19:10

Oh - not very good news for my little old girl Sad
She has a problem with her heart, quite bad, she might have a kidney problem - the tests won't show it up until it gets really bad. And she has a mammary tumour Sad

Operation to remove the tumour would kill her because of her heart, and I said I didn't want to put her through an op. at her age anyway. I'm not sure if I should feel bad about that or not, it feels like I'm playing God with her life, but an op. would be horrible for her (She's been through 2 ops before for tumours, and they are big ops.) And she'd be in pain and not understand.

Vet said we just need to medicate her to keep her comfortable.

I'm sitting here in tears, - she's my little friend Sad

smee · 23/09/2011 19:15

topsy, I'd ask to change dates - apart from solidarity you might well find the schools closed, so the kids could need to be at home with you. Also, even if the doctors are there, ancillary staff might not be, so you could end up being there for hours.

earth, I vote for fluid too, but step away from the scales. Honestly, you've got enough to worry about woman.

janem, is it a relief you've told your mum? Telling parents is huge I think. Hope Acocks Green provided treats. Smile

Wishing everyone a lovely Friday night. We're following Topsy's lead, so take out and wine for us too. I am justifying the extraordinarily large order by cycling up to get it. Grin

topsyturner · 23/09/2011 19:23

Oh kk that's horrible news . Its so hard to know what the right thing to do is isn't it ? I still remember how hard it was when I had my beloved ancient cat (called topsy , hence my name) put to sleep . She was in a really bad way and it was cruel keeping her with me . But it was such a hard thing to do .
Hugs to you and your little hound x
