pink - I often tell my DC that they can start a conversation without the word "muuuuuuum" at the beginning of it Grin

kk - I'll show you mine Grin

Have finished Location now and moved onto Who Do You Think You Are .
Have beat sent the DC to bed and liberated the laptop . Have also eaten 1/2 a ginormous bar of Galaxy . Has to be said I only ate 1/2 of it cos that was all that was left !

Figgyroll · 14/09/2011 21:11

Hi all, lots of posts since I was last in so please forgive me for not catching up with everyones news. I've been really poorly since Monday afternoon. Went to school as normal, went shopping after lunch then had to go to bed at 4 -pounding headache and the feeling that I'd been kicked hard in the chest. The painkillers I had didn't touch it and DH wanted to take me to hospital but, as it was nearly the morning, I persuaded him to wait till the doctors were open. I have an infection from the draining on Friday - the seroma is returning and the area around the scar is all hot and red (it was, the last time I looked). I'm on antibees and have stronger painkillers and, worse of all, wont be able to go back to work this week. I'm still feeling yukky especially after seeing that about 1cm of my wound STILL hasn't healed properly. I'm feeling so fed up with it all, one thing after another. I hope this doesn't delay my rads. I've still got headaches and of course am now wondering if they're anything more sinister. Blush

Will come back on tomorrow for a proper catch up.

xx

topsyturner · 14/09/2011 21:28

Aaaw figgy , you are really having a shitty time of it aren't you ?
Hugs and positive thought s to you . And I hope the anti bs kick in soon and your headaches subside .

FrameyMcFrame · 14/09/2011 22:34

Pink and Figgy, hope you're both feeling better this evening.

I've been enjoying sucking spiders up with the Hoover attachment Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/09/2011 22:55

Framey - no !! poor spiders !
Lots of gentle hugs to Figgy and Pink...
Back from bookgroup- we did 'Water for Elephants' - flimsy tosh, but quite entertaining. My turn next and I've chosen 'Sherry Cracker Gets Normal' by DJ Connell - am very excited ! Trouble is though I have to host it in my tiny house- all the other bookgroup ladies live in mansions.

Right, definitely packed...in by 11am and done some time this aft then thrown out by this evening if it's gone well.

Hope today goes ok for everyone else too....

Here, I am the Spider Moving Person. Spiders get politely taken outside before cat or dog make a meal out of them and before the two brave strong men in the household start screaming like girls Grin

topsyturner · 15/09/2011 08:24

Aah , but do they have a cracking spider collection mas ? Grin

Good luck today amber , smooth operation and healing vibes coming your way x

Just hoovered and washed my floors as the district nurse is coming round this morning to refill my syringe driver .
I just can't stop myself , they don't judge me on the state of my floors , I do it to myself Grin

Crumpets , real butter and hot chocolate being cooked in 5 mins (after last DC packed off to school) , anyone want any ?

pinkstarlight · 15/09/2011 09:21

figgy...bless you i know what a nightmare seromas are,my scar was healing really well and has now reddened again been told to keep a close eye on it great when i have my pre radiation appiontment next week. its horrible when you dont feel well it seems never ending sometimes i think why do i always feel so grotty when everyone else seems to cope really well.its like you say one thing after another but your nearly there figgy.hope you feel better soon.

amber...wow that sounds quick, the buggers kept me 5 days.good luck sending you positive thoughts.

topsy...crumpets with butter sound good to me

not slept well last night bone aches and have a terrible crushing pain in my ribs.honestly no idea whats up now cant even blow my nose as it hurts my ribs.

cakesandale · 15/09/2011 10:17

Blimey, slow down, y'all!!

Quick last vote of confidence for amber before she goes in - thinking of you.

Sorry to hear about pink and figgy feeling so rough. Seromas are a sod: take it easy, I am sure when the antibees kick in you will start to feel better. Treats until then.

KK - I take my hat off to you. I couldn't model in my bra. Fair play for wanting to give something back but in my case i think it would have to be cash.

MAS - still achey? What a pain. I get it sometimes as well, I think it is the tamoxifen, but it does make you feel about 103.

Itwillprobablybefine (Ithink!) - welcome and sympathies. I can't add much to what everyone else has said. It probably really will be just fine but you are so right to get it checked. Ask anything you like, nothing is too silly or too personal - and bear in mind that, even if you did have anything unpleasant, most of us already have, some of us a few years ago now, and we are still here. We have been knocked about a bit, but we are definitely still here.

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/09/2011 10:48

MY BIG SPIDER HAS RETURNED !!

SparkleRainbow · 15/09/2011 10:51

Oh Amber I missed saying good luck to you this morning. I guess you are there now, so I am wishing you a speedy recovery and discharge.

Kurri I am very impressed with your bid to be a next thing in modelling!

MAS I hope the aches are less today.

MAS and Amber (when you are back) put your fingers in your ears!

Framey - spider sucking uperage is my favourite course of action too, whilst whispering obscenities at them Grin In fact last night, sucked up a big one from the corner of ds's room before he saw it and freaked out. He has not quite recovered from the shocking appearance of Shelob in his clothes drawer when we were sorting through it a few weeks ago, that and the sight of his mother disappearing screaming out of his room abandoning him to the spider! Obviously by MAS's experience it was just shelobs little weedy cousin but to me it was HUGGGGE Grin

SparkleRainbow · 15/09/2011 10:54

xpost MAS ....see told you so, Smee's was a cautionary tale....get either the vacuum cleaner or a very big boot out!

Ooo crumpets that would be lovely.

cakesandale · 15/09/2011 11:22

MAS - they do, they do. You are going to have to drive it somewhere and leave it there without a map.

Dd has taken up the guitar. I told her I expected her to be able to play Supermassive Black Hole by the end of lesson 1: so far she can hold it properly, and twang one string. And she does, obsessively [hands over ears emoticon needed]

Apparently they are going to teach her 'What's that coming over the hill (is it a monster?)" first off, as it is pretty easy. I think it is going to be a while before she can tackle the mighty Muse's back catalogue Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/09/2011 11:26

at least it's not a recorder or violin cakes ! The guitar is lovely though,it always sounds nice, even if not played very well. I had lessons for a few years, wish I'd not given up.
I really can't do anything nasty to spiders - I would feel terrible.

OP posts:
cakesandale · 15/09/2011 11:36

You are way too kind. I like animals but I am afraid spiders and doddy long legs don't count for me

SparkleRainbow · 15/09/2011 11:44

Nor me....

Ds has started learning the violin this week at school. School are paying for the entire KS2 to have violin and brass lessons en masse......there is something you would need ear plugs for! Grin Ds is cross with me for organising individual violin lessons on top...but I thought in for a penny in for a pound as they say.

MAS why would you feel terrible....it is the natural order of things, as nature intended...all nature except buddhists anyway Wink

topsyturner · 15/09/2011 12:05

Uuugh , DS did a full year of violin . Don't know who suffered more , us or him . Music was so not his forte Grin

3 crumpets left . I blame the steroids in my chemo jollop for making me want to eat ........

SparkleRainbow · 15/09/2011 12:46

Ds is not very musical, he takes after my dad....! I am musical and it took me playing for 10 years to make it sound like music and not feline torture!

I am soooo hungry, I would love crumpets..... blame chemo all you can!

topsyturner · 15/09/2011 12:53

Also have teacakes ..........

EarthMotherImNot · 15/09/2011 13:07

Hi all, I was getting dressed to go to hospital to have my wound drained again when I noticed red fluid sloshing around under the clear dressing.

Did I panic? you bet your boots I panicked. My first thought was I'd torn the stitches. I rang the hospital and the lovely lady answered my incoherent sobs with "calm down dear, worse things happen at sea" WTF Hmm

She told me to come straight in, not wait for my appointment, so my friend arrived post haste and drove so slowly we could have walked faster bless her.

BCN met me on the way in and took me straight to her room where she syringed 3 bowls full out of me this time. I have to go back tomorrow as she doesn't want me to wait all weekend.

I had to laugh because she wrapped me in the paper towel they get you to lie on, round and round she wrapped until I resembled a mummyGrin

Hope thats my excitement over for the day!

topsyturner · 15/09/2011 13:29

Eek earth , that's not good .
Makes me realise how lucky I was post surgery .
Healing vibes and a toasted teacake headed your way .

cakesandale · 15/09/2011 13:38

Eek and double eek, Earth!

And a pat on the back from me for your friend and the BCN. I promise you the leaky fluid thing stops, though it can take a few weeks.

Tea cakes? I'll have one and hand around more lemon cupcakes (just dome the shopping a day or two early as dd's friend is coming for tea tomorrow and has requested spaghetti carbonara. This is something I have NEVER made before, but it looks pretty straightforward....)

of course the pesky cakes just leapt into my trolley and it seemed rude to leave them Grin

EarthMotherImNot · 15/09/2011 13:46

Thanks guysSmile On the way to hospital I was freaking out about the seat belt rubbing and my friend put it behind my head IYSWIM. She said "if the police stop us show em your wound" Love to see that headline in the local newspaper Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/09/2011 13:48

poor Earth - I think I'd've fainted !
I have some giant chocolate buttons- anyone want a few ?
