I will indeed need cake. Smile When's your back op, Cakes? Is that soon too?

KurriKurri · 05/09/2011 23:46

How wonderful for your friend after all those problems Smee Smile

I didn't realise your op, was quite so soon. Eek indeed

I really need to go to bed, my appointment is early tomorrow, and I have to do some sort of eat, wait an hour, pee in a bottle business before I go - so that's something to look forward to Grin

Good luck for this morning smee . What day next week is your op ?

Carpet man comes today , DH and I stripped the old one out last night . Cue loads of dirt and dust

15th wedding anniversary today . DH cut me a bunch of flowers from the garden . We are horribly skint till next weeks payday , so shall put off celebrating till then .
This would be the point where I confess that I completely forgot about it .............. Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2011 07:28

good luck today KK and hooray for smee's friend's baby Smile
It is so gloomy and cold, wet and windy this morning- yuck.

topsyturner · 06/09/2011 07:29

kk - you have an appointment too today ? Well good luck for you too !

Aaah , wonderful baby news , has she named him yet ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2011 07:29

Happy Anniversary topsy- flowers from garden is sweet and romantic ! - shall we celebrate with virtual Wine ?

SparkleRainbow · 06/09/2011 08:33

Ahemmm

I can't help with the accent key, feel accents are over rated anyway.......

Happy anniversary topsy Smile

Happy birthday baby boy Smee, double Smile as I have been through trying for a long time myself, and miscarriages.....then came ds, followed in short order by the girls (rather like buses, although very much wanted ones)

I am off to check all the chicks now, big and small as it is terribly cold here today and I am a bit worried about them.

cakesandale · 06/09/2011 09:25

Good luck KK for today, and Smee for next week. Let us know which day so we can clear our diaries and hold virtual hands.

I do not know when my back op is, yet. I had the required MRI and now know nothing. I am not in as much of a rush as I was because it seems a bit better just now - a combination of more exercise and weight loss, I think. I still need it, but am in no hurry. In fact, I'd rather like to lose more weight before it happens, it just sees sensible to be as fit as possible for it, as it isn't an urgent procedure.

Sparkles I hope those chicks are OK. It isn't cold here, it's pretty warm, but blowing a TOTAL hoollie.

pinkstarlight · 06/09/2011 10:01

topsy..will be thinking of you on wednesday, your boy sounds like mine loves science and hates PE except for football.

smee...thats great news about your friend, the op wasnt as bad as i thought it be but then again i took every painkiller they offered me ha ha.

kurrie..good luck for today.

mas..its also cold gloomy and rainy here brrrr.

sparkles...hope your chicks are ok.

cakes...glad to hear your backs feeling a bit better.

had the area around my collar bone drained yesterday where there was a pocket of fluid from my seroma was to deep for the nurse to do it so a doctor performed the procedure using ultra sound was facinating to watch.they took out just under a pint as you can imagine i was pretty swollen, they had to use a very long needle entering at my scar which wasnt to bad as that areas numb.

been told i can no longer use the seroma clinic as it will be needed to be drained by a doctor and ultra sound from this point on as the nurses are not qualified to do it.been told to come back friday if im desperate but they would prefer me to hang on if possible to see my consultant next tuesday.im sore as hell todayand paranoid as its already starting to swell slightly but at least for now its not making strange hissing and gurgling noises.

got told off by the nurse for hanging my handbag off my shoulder then again during the ultra sound when she lifted my arm up i cried out got told "you really need to work on that arm"

cakesandale · 06/09/2011 10:10

Poor pink, that does sound horrible.

Mine was nothing like yours but I also found that it didn't hurt at the time, but felt like I'd been punched quite hard the following day. I hope it doesn't get too bad this time around. It will stop doing this eventually, even if it takes a few weeks yet.

Topsy: I have everything crossed for good news at your CT scan tomorrow. Have a slice of madeira cake in the meantime It seems a bit early for cake but, then again Hmm

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2011 10:12

ow ow ow pink- it all sounds horrendous - and being told off by nurse isn't nice...hope it all calms down.
Hope chicks are ok too sparkle.

topsyturner · 06/09/2011 10:18

Oh pink , that sounds horrendous Sad
Take painkillers today and rest up and by kind to yourself .

Waiting for carpet man still . Spent the last 1/2 hour textig a friend to keep her occupied whilst she waits for an mri .
I advised her to strip naked and wait in the corridor to be called , that's the correct procedure no ??? Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2011 11:13

naughty topsy Grin !!
hope carpet man comes soon.
Madeira -yum- yes please.

pinkstarlight · 06/09/2011 11:14

topsy...they have now given me stronger painkillers said im going to need them,oh joy.

cakes...they did say hopefully it wont fill up so fast and it could take a few weeks.sob.

mas...i know thing is i have been bloody exercising lol but its kind of hard with a rock hard boob under your arm pit to lift your arm high up.

.im going to try to hang on to see my consultant because i dont like the idea of that happening twice a week.i hoping next time they will try to take some from the side because thats also very swollen and its causing alot of pressure in my arm pit and shoulder blade and really bugging me as clothes a bra straps are very uncomfortable and dig in.

KurriKurri · 06/09/2011 11:27

Did someone say madeira? (a madeira is a damn good cake! Grin)

Pink the seroma draining sounds horrible, poor you - a pint Shock - it must be so uncomfortable.

Hope the chicks are OK Sparkle (and also that I haven't infected you with Luddite Grin). It is blowing up a storm here too.
Happy anniversary topsy, garden flowers are lovely Smile - hope carpet chap arrives soon.

Had my appointment this morning, and didn't have to wait long. When I went in the consultant said 'hello, I'm a thyroid doctor, so you've come to the right shop' Grin anyway he was very nice, he thinks I have Graves disease (the commonest cause of Overactive T I think) and has put me on some pills, for six weeks - then I go back, more blood tests, and I have to decide whether to continue with tablets, or have a one off dose of radio active iodine, - both have pros and cons, so I've got a load of leaflets to read before I see him again.

I asked if it was anything to do with cancer treatment, and he said no, but it can be triggered by extreme stress, so he thinks the cancer diagnosis possibly set off the thyroid probs. (I think I tend to internalise stress, and put on a happy face for public consumption, - probably not a good thing to do.)

Anyway, - at least I can tick another one off in my I-spy book of diseases. Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2011 11:36

well done kk - that sounds about right, stress and what not- would make sense.Hope the tablets are ok for you - I've heard of Graves Disease.

topsyturner · 06/09/2011 12:11

Think kk is working her way through the medical dictionary Grin

Carpet men here , job nearly done .
They were very scared of pig/dog who decided to try and violate (picture carpet fitter kneeling down on stairs and 1 over excited German Shepherd Blush ) one of them Grin , so I had to sling him out in the garden !

It must be nearly lunch time , any suggestions ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2011 12:15

we're having hummus ! I shall reek of garlic

cakesandale · 06/09/2011 12:22

KK I know someone who had that radioactive iodine jobbie a couple of years ago, so if you are thinking of having it and have any questions, I can ask her for you.

KurriKurri · 06/09/2011 12:34

Thanks very much Cakes - that would be useful, I probably will have questions nearer the time of my next appointment.

topsy - am Grin at pig/dog trying to violate carpet man. Our dog humps her basket when we have visitors. It used to be a kind of frantic, dribbling panting type of hump, but now she's 14, it a a sort of slow wheezy effort. (possible TMI there Grin)

I am envisaging something like as carpet man tries to get on with his work.

OP posts:
pinkstarlight · 06/09/2011 12:42

oooh topsy poor carpet man ha ha ha,shouldnt laugh but kurri and her clip really tickled me

topsyturner · 06/09/2011 12:54

kk - almost exactly like that Grin

Are bacon flavour McCoys ridged crisps acceptable and balanced lunch fodder ?

KurriKurri · 06/09/2011 13:25

yes topsy - they are one of the four essential food groups, fill your boots.

OP posts:
topsyturner · 06/09/2011 13:48

What about toffee popcorn ?
Maybe I should just give in and make a nice healthy sandwich ?
