just popping by- hello cakes !! oh how embarrassing (but funny!) I once mistook my friends mum for mine and hugged her which was hugely embarrassing as I was a very painfully shy 7 year old and barely spoke to other adults...I also mistook a complete stranger for an old college friend in the Tate - it was mortifying-the poor woman must've thought I was seriously mad.
Good luck with your testing smee- lalaa got tested (not a carrier)but I wasn't,as far as I know.

Hi MAS Your new work sounds exciting! I am getting on with thinking about the book, I promise.

KurriKurri · 12/07/2011 13:28

Hi all, back from the dentist, nothing needed to be done hooray (but no sticker Angry) - He got me to stick out my tongue and then stick my tongue into my right cheek then my left - I wonder what for?

Amber glad you are a little better today, - do you think this cycle has hit you a bit harder than last time/ - I found there was a cumulative effect.

topsy, - good that the nurse finally made it. I saw the riots on the news and thought of you - quite scary I imagine. How are you feeling today?

Good luck with the counselling Smee, I don't think mine was tested - at least nobody said anything about it. Is there a history of BC in your family, that makes the gene likely?

Cakes Grin poor you, poor man - or maybe lucky man, you probably made his day Grin

Good luck with the website work MAS, try not to get too anxious, I'm sure once you get going you will relax a bit Smile

Sparkle - it sounds as if you have loads going on over the next few days, have plenty of tea breaks , (would you like a cream cheese and cucumber bagel?, I just making one for myself Grin)

Shopping - I managed to get a sort of chiffony shrug type of thing to wear with my dress, and a necklace and earrings. Couldn't find any shoes, - I want pewter coloured wedges, but nowhere had any (also I am a small shoe size which adds more difficulty) There's a big shoe warehouse place just outside town, so I'll go there later in the week.

I'm turning into one of those old women who say 'ooooh me feet' when they get home after a morning shopping Grin

pinkstarlight · 12/07/2011 13:53

hope everyones ok.
im now feeling so much better apart from a few minor niggles like watering eyes etc but its so nice to feel almost normal again.

had a busy weekend helping my mum and stepdad househunt found a beautiful house not far from me in a village location and views of the countryside for miles that we all fell in love with, mums had an offer on their house but they are stuck waiting for the people to sell their house.

got to see both the surgeon and my consultant on the 22nd to see what happens next,so no idea if i will have my last chemo or not.my hands are much better but my feet are still a mess.

amberlight · 12/07/2011 14:02

KK, it just seems a bit different to last time - yesterday was extremely yuk, but today really not so bad.
Pink, grr re your feet still being in a right old situation. Hope they have a sensible plan.
Cakes, Grin re your comment to the man!!

Did someone say cream cheese bagel? Yes please!

KurriKurri · 12/07/2011 14:22

Bagel for Amber coming up Smile I'm glad its improved a bit today.

What a shame your feet are still a mess Pink, - perhaps they will improve a bit over the next week so that you can have your last cycle.
The house you saw sounds lovely, fingers crossed for them that their buyers sell fast. Are they currently a long way from you? - It will be nice to have them close by.

I hope no ones eating atm, because I'm going to mention a dog with an upset tummy who has kindly visited three rooms and left her calling card. House now smells strongly of disinfectant. [yuk]

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/07/2011 15:04

tongue thing I reckon is to check for mouth cancer - my dentist always says-'I'm now going to check if you have cancer but i'm sure you don't because do don't smoke' (he doesn't know about my bc,otherwise I guess he wouldn't say it- it's meant to be reassuring I suppose !)
Poor dog KK but poor you having to clean up too -ick.
Good luck with all your prep sparkle- and love to amber and to pink for her feet.
I had a bagel with tomato in for lunch -cream cheese sounds yummier.
Ooh,nearly cupcake time !

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/07/2011 15:05

KK -will you show us your costume ? Hope you get some shoes too

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 12/07/2011 15:14

I will take pics at the graduation MAS and put them on profile.

Ah - you might be right about the mouth cancer thing - I had to fill in a medical form today and give it too him and he was reading through, - so maybe thought he'd check. DH saw him last week and he didn't have to do it.

Cupcakes sound yummy.

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/07/2011 15:25

yum- have just tried one, very nice- lovely icing !

KurriKurri · 12/07/2011 17:48

here is the shrug I bought today, although it was down to £19 in the shop I went to.

SparkleRainbow · 12/07/2011 19:06

Kurri I love the shrug, is that the colour too, because it is beautiful, but then I am rather partial to blue being a blonde Grin

KurriKurri · 12/07/2011 19:24

thank you Sparkle - yes it is that shade of blue, to be absolutely honest - it is a totally different blue from my dress, but I don't care - I love it Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/07/2011 19:54

really lovely colour KK - do you pull the drawstrings to ruch it ? My best friend is a huge fan of shrugs-has them for most of her dresses (she has many, many clothes) I notice it is from the Petite collection,so you must be a slip of a thing really !

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 12/07/2011 19:55

btw -I don't like matching stuff -am sure it'll look much more interesting being a different shade !

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 12/07/2011 20:00

Not really a slip of a thing MAS - they go up to larger sizes, they're just made for short types such as me Grin.

It was really good sale, - I saw another shrug I liked, and some blouses/tops, but I couldn't justify spending more than I actually needed to. I saw some nice blue wedge sandals in New Look of all places (I don't often go in there unless I'm with DD) but they were too high for me, I was toppling froward in them Grin

I also bought a nice chunky necklace and ear ring (I'll see if I can find them online)

KurriKurri · 12/07/2011 20:03

necklace set

sandripples · 12/07/2011 22:01

KK I'm so sorry - please don't think I'm being rude not acknowledging your PM. There's a tech glitch - the inbox icon is sort of stuck behind the Mumsnet on Youtube icon and I can't get at it! Crikey, apart from your PM there could be 100s of fascintaing e-mails telling me I've won prozes etc and I can't access it. Will have to get a techie frined at the w/e to see if can sort it.

Meanwhile your outfits seems to be developing nicely...

Love to all and apologies to anyone else who may have sent me any PMs..

KurriKurri · 12/07/2011 22:08

Never mind SR Smile I didn't think you were being rude, don't worry if you can't find it.

Talking of prizes - yet another month has gone by when I haven't won any of the MN competitions Angry Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/07/2011 22:25

oh the earrings and necklace are a lovely blue too - what a shame the shoes were too high - am not good in heels of any sort.

OP posts:
amberlight · 13/07/2011 09:05

ooooo beautiful shrug and necklace!!!!

Morning everyone. Feeling better again, which is just as well as I have to get myself round a high security facility to do a disability access audit today and don't want to end up asleep in a corner Grin

How are you all??

cakesandale · 13/07/2011 09:24

Morning all!

I am fine thanks, Amber. That sounds like a mighty important task, glad you are feeling up to it.

KK that outfit is shaping up nicely, the blue will be lovely and fresh. I think of it as one of your colours as well (still harking to the dress you bought for a special do with DH some time ago).

On the subject of clothes - DH interviewed Gok Wan last week!!! Envy I wanted to go with him but he said I was way back in the queue, every woman he had told wanted to go as well. I imagine Gok is a love him or loathe him sort of person, but I am in the first camp (forgive the pun Grin). Apparently he was really, really friendly and relaxed and nice - but spoke a mile a minute.

MaryAnnSingleton · 13/07/2011 09:43

aw,Cakes - how exciting ! Gok was on R4 this week, only I can't remember what programme - talking about being fat, then beinmg thin, his career and childhood etc...he always comes over as a nice bloke, truly empathetic, though am not keen on the tv programmes.
Am off to post some work, then 2 of my friends are coming up and we';ll have lunch - piano later and then,v exciting, our first Waitrose delivery !!!
Good luck with high security thing amber Grin

cakesandale · 13/07/2011 10:03

Sounds like a nice day MAS - enjoy Smile

I like Gok's programmes - don't always watch them, but I always cry at the end when the women manage to get naked and strut their stuff (Note to self - get a life)
