new thread here !

OP posts:
amberlight · 01/07/2011 11:32

Smee, I'll be seeing my surgeon after the next chemo and he'll tell me when he fancies waving a scalpel in my direction. Won't know if I need rads or not yet I think - might depend on the op they do and whether it comes back with the right results???

smee · 01/07/2011 11:40

Okay, I shall try green tea again then. Off to hunt MAS's type.. Smile

Topsy, you deserve KFC. Smile

Amber, whatever's next you'll sail through, am sure. I had my op first, so was the other way round. Was good in a way to get it over with, but in other ways not so good as I never knew if the chemo had anything left to do or not. Start planning those DVD box sets. You need something to look forward to once you're home. Get thee to Amazon. Smile

KurriKurri · 01/07/2011 13:42

More good vibes to your auntie MAS, - I glad she's got through the op., I'm sure she'll be well looked after, but it's always worrying with elderly people.

Good luck Topsy, - (looking at the time you will be there now), soon be done, and then you can stuff yourself with KFC.

Amber good luck with your last chemo,- home strait now. The herceptin sounds daunting because its for a year, but really compared to chemo its a breeze. the main nuisance is having to go into the hospital every three weeks, but its much quicker than chemo - about an hour roughly (although the first one takes a bit longer). Main side effect I had was diarrhoea, but I've got problems in that region anyway, and anyway it was controllable.

As Smee says stock up with treats for recovery period after your op. Smile

All these cats with 'gifts', - how did yours manage to catch a bumble bee Smee?- must be a quick moggy.

I've been to keep fit this morning - so feeling virtuous. Now I'm going to sit in a heap watching the tennis, and reading the Susan Hill book I got from the library

amberlight · 01/07/2011 13:48

Our cat brought us a dead mouse last night. How there can be any mice left in the woodlands with his efforts is beyond me Hmm

Picked up FineLad from his VeryLastDayEver at school Confused Oh my!

topsyturner · 01/07/2011 13:57

Am in a waiting room , with a very large jug of water . I have to drink the lot .
Only 2 other people waiting and drinking now .
We are playing toilet roulette Grin

I had a cat once who was a great gift giver .
DH got out of bed one morning and ending up wearing a half eaten mouse on his toe like a slipper !!!
He never appreciated the cats gifts .......

KurriKurri · 01/07/2011 14:05

Grin at mouse slipper, - my DD did that once on the beach with a dead seagull - urrgh, we just kept shouting look where you're walking at her, she is like iron filings to a magnet when it comes to treading in crap Grin

Here is a picture of me at Hyde Park, ignore the fact that I am a porker, and am wearing a ridiculous sun hat and my bra is showing, - I was a bit too hot to appreciate having my photo takenGrin here

smee · 01/07/2011 14:08

ooh, Topsy I remember that well. Are you looking at the others and wondering why they're there? I could never stop myself doing that. Hope you're in soon.

Kurri, it was a v.dopey large bumble bee. Our cat's v.laid back and hardly ever catches anything [relieved]. I just went out into our garden with some washing to find him and his moggy mate sitting like a couple of fishwives, watching a fox asleep under a tree. All three looked a bit embarrassed and begrudgingly jumped over the boards. Our garden's only about 25 feet long, so that's one confident fox.

Amber, last day ever?! My that must be something. Is he out partying later with his several female admirers? Smile

smee · 01/07/2011 14:09

Kurri, x posted, but just clicked your link to be told 'You don't belong here' [sob]

amberlight · 01/07/2011 14:47

Smee, there will be a Party later at the house of one of said female admirers, which will also contain the rest of them from that year. Shock Their parties are Quite Something and occasionally involve the riot police/ambulances, so I'm hoping this will be an occasion where they manage to restrain themselves. Difficult when they hit 18. Usually FineLad ends up being the one who herds them to points of safety/acts as bouncer etc.

topsyturner · 01/07/2011 14:59

Playing the "wonder why you're here" game in this department is a bit of a non starter .
I am in a dedicated Cancer hospital !
I kid you not , this is the Belfast Cancer Hospital !
Talk about "it does what is says on the tin" Grin

Scan done , got the hot ears / feel like I'm gonna wet myself sensations .
Usual "we will send the results to your consultant" garbage .

What shall I do now ? Kids are at Grannys . DH is at work till 5pm .
I hear a FineLad is having a party ..............

topsyturner · 01/07/2011 15:01

Oh and apparently I "don't belong" either , sob !
Wanted to point and laugh at kks sunhat Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 01/07/2011 15:53

I don't belong either Sad !
I do that wondering why they're seeing the doc/nurse at our GP surgery -once Alan Titchmarsh was in the waiting room so I wondered about him
Hope junior amber has a jolly party and doesn't have to do too much babysitting of mates.
Well done topsy - hope you made it to the lav (anxiety emoticon)
It's the yr 11 prom at ds's school - that'll be my boy in a couple of years time Shock

KurriKurri · 01/07/2011 16:37

Oh - thats odd? Confused- I'll get DH to sort it out when he gets home.

Here's something even odder. This thread completely disappeared from health for me and from the threads I'm on bit. I asked site stuff and they linked me to it, but its still not appearing on the list of threads. I am very very confused. Maybe the photo of me in my hat broke something Grin

I posted a thread saying 'where has the thread gone' - has that appeared?

KurriKurri · 01/07/2011 16:49

Sad the thread has gone for me, I can only access it through this link MNHQ sent me. Why has that happened?

KurriKurri · 01/07/2011 16:59

BlushBlushBlush - I had accidentally hidden it somehow. What a fool! MNHQ have sorted me out (without laughing too much at my idiocy Grin)

KurriKurri · 01/07/2011 17:04

Hope FineLad has a good party tonight Amber Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 01/07/2011 18:15

Are you restored KK ?
News from cousin in USA - Auntie awake and breathing on her own - good news !! My ma was remarkably blase about it all (she had been told about her sis by a cousin) - not in a nasty way, she's just quite laid back about these things -or fatalistic -or something. They are hugely stoical (my parents) as I've mentioned before
Wine time soon - must iron and meditate first though.

OP posts:
smee · 01/07/2011 18:24

Hooray for tough and lovely Aunts. Sounds like good news then, MAS.

Kurri, you see you get it all wrong, what you should be doing is boasting for such techno wizardry. Cakes will be jealous. Grin

Off to the pub - hooray for friends and beer I say. DH sulking as we have no babysitter, so he's staying home to cook my tea.

KurriKurri · 01/07/2011 18:37

Yes I'm restored, - I went into panic mode - when I realised everyone could see the thread except me. - Its all been too much, I must have an early night Grin

Good that your auntie is doing well MAS, I hope she makes a good recovery.

Have a drink for me Smee, we are all out of happy juice here.

topsyturner · 01/07/2011 19:26

Happy news re your Aunty cakes . Hope she continues to thrive .

I am home , and full of dirty burgers Grin
Had a parcel waiting for me when I got in .
New purple cover for my kindle , with a light in it . (Major fail kindle people , not having a back light on the kindle tut tut !)
I am feeling very suave and sophisticated , purple leather and suede .
Doesn't take a lot to please me these days Grin

Still have cider in the fridge .
Also have a bottle of Chablis .
Ooh decisions , decisions .....

Don't forget 10pm prayer time my bosom buddies

KurriKurri · 01/07/2011 19:42

topsyturner · 01/07/2011 19:56

And you are soooo not a porker !

Ooh Eeer amber - we're not bashing bishops tonight are we ?

Glass off ice cold cider anyone ?
Just to lubricate the vocal chords for the 10pm chant .......

amberlight · 01/07/2011 20:03

Topsy! I am shocked! Shocked, I tell you! Grin
(PS I really do work with Bishops all over the country)

MaryAnnSingleton · 01/07/2011 20:04
