saf - exactly - I'm all jumpy and weird about it. Can't really put my finger on it but she sort of rolled her eyes at a couple of things and looked a bit exsaperated at me, and normally with the 4 of us its just not like that, theres no game playing or anything. Its all got a bit weird because a mutual friend of mine and this girl has got divorced. I am friends with the wife and my friend is friends with the husband. Ah well. I will ask her later and then put it from my head.

we have sort of proper snow here. which gave ds the incentive to discover he can unlock the front door another surety has been lost.

fakey snow here - enough to make everything slippy or slidey, but not enough to make a snowman with. I want it all to go away, two lots of snow within 12 months just isn't cricket.

think you're right re friend. It was weird, she disagreed with me on a couple of things, which is fine obviously :D but it seemed really strange the way she did it. Oh I don't know. I'll mail her in a minute.

The problem is we've had this is in the past. She was really pissed off with me once over something I said at a party. Thing is even after she told me I just really couldn't see that what I'd said was bad. I apologised of course but it made me wary because if she could get pissed off over something that wasn't (to me) remotely contentious, then I'd have to watch everything I said, or spend the whole time worrying I'm rambling but you probably get the point.

anyway, think i might wrap presents today. oh and some more of those bloody monster high dolls ive sold on ebay.

Loads of snow here Brian. Maybe on it's way down to you?

Had a God awful night with a constantly crying/wimpering Nemo. He is back on the floor (playmat) with his little pillow and blanket. He seems so fragile. Lots of Dioralyte again to keep him hydrated. His nurse is coming tomorrow so I may suddenly vanish if she get's him admitted.

Heating grant people are coming today to assess the work that needs doing. I'm hoping the guy will bring us all the new kit and just do it!

Brian - TGWTDT (girl with the dragon...) Is really hard to get into I found because of all the Swedish? names and refs.

Once you get past that bit, it flows much more. I loved it. Not got the other two yet but I loved the first one.

Satan - I have an image in my head of DS and adventure cat out in your garden, like an advert for Whiskers or something, all smiling and happy playing in the snow.

DH is in the cabin freezing his bollocks off

Don't worry though Bubs and Satan - there is heating in there for when you use it as your holiday home!!

re:TGWDT - they are good, and v. interesting in terms of role of women/abuses of women - but not super stunning perfect - but then I believe the author died before he had the chance to properly edit them etc, which would have probably made a difference. the first book is the more conventional, a locked room type mystery. the second and third are a bit more erm challenging.

TC - yes, he did die before he got to complete the trilogy. And I have to say I found the abuse bit hard to read. My friend has seen the film of TGWTDT and said for me not to watch it

I need to use up storecupboard/freezer ingredients. so frozen quorn mince or sardines and sweet potatoes. or imaginatvely disgusting combination of all three if I am particularly lucky
