Happy Birthday to the Finnster - does this mean he's at school this Sept or next year?

I'm not growed up. In fact I have been reborn and have to relive my childhood to give her a happy inner child...

I am (go on.. guess!) Busy....

The kippers repeated on me badly so could someone roll me a sausage and I'll be around for lunch..

xx

Morning

Still no bloody period. I feel like an emotional wreck. And I overslept so DS was late for school.

Happy Birthday Finnster, happy anniversary wasting.

Oh great, just typing that has started me off again.

Mittz · 15/07/2010 10:28

Same here Bitter.. still waiting.

I've just had an inappropriate text from someone . I know his wife also, she is lovely, it puts me in a really really difficult place. Just for a minute my heart leapt that it was someone else as I didn't recognise the number at first, but then I remembered. Any advice anyone?

Mittz, that's What sort of thing does it say?

Are you channeling your inner Bitter Saf?

Mittz · 15/07/2010 10:49

It's a personal compliment, nothing shocking as such but it was sent an hour after I had seen him, when he was with his wife, and it is partly there role in my life that makes it uncomfortable for me.

I am very sensitive about such things for a couple of reasons.. Because of past experiences I like to have a firm line for platonic friendships and that being crossed puts me out of my comfort zone.

My ex was very jealous and through the years I found it increasingly difficult to even talk to men to avoid confrontation.. that has not left me completely.

In his eyes, it might not be a big deal, and I don't know because I simply am incapable of of reading and judging male behaviour without my view being distorted by my past. So where most people might shrug it off as a compliment, I am unsettled. And it is not like he just said it in front of his wife. He texted it which makes it something different. Or am I just being paranoid and overly hormonal?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 15/07/2010 10:54

That's a tricky one Mittz. I'd like to think it's all perfectly innocent, but the fact he texted rather than said it in front of his wife is a bit .

What's he like generally, does he usually act inappropriately around you or is it more likely he's just being nice?

Gigantaur · 15/07/2010 11:01

if it was "didn't have a chance to say earlier but you are looking very good lately" then i gues that could just be a nice platonic bit of supportive friendlyness.

if it was "phwoar you looked hot this morning"
then that is way way way over the line.

It really does depend on how well you know this man and just what it says.

I feel a bit like poo this morning.

Im having to wait in for the drain men which is a godsend as it meant i had a good excuse to not go to work today. im not ill enough to warrant a sick day but i could so do without the hassle iyswim.

MacTheWife · 15/07/2010 11:16

morning

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for the finnster

i fancied a name change, i know im not a wife, but i am kind of married to my apple mac so it seems appropriate

its chucking it down here, wish the rain would piss off now

Mittz have replied to you on fb

TrillianAstra · 15/07/2010 11:16

Morning all. I won't bore you with my work moans. Half the team is on holiday.

Landlord is coming round to see the flat this evening, we haven't done anything nsaty to it so no worries there but I really hope he's not planning on selling it or anything like that.

MacTheWife · 15/07/2010 11:28

damn sky tv signal has gone now cos of the rain grrr

Trills yes the finnster starts reception class in sept

DreamsInBinary · 15/07/2010 11:30

Love the new name, Mac

Sometimes I like it when there are only a few of us in the office - sort of a 'Snow Day' feel. Sometimes it's rubbish because of all the work. Am guessing today is the latter, Trill?

DreamsInBinary · 15/07/2010 11:31

There are a few of us with school-starters in Sept, I think?

Me
Mac
LL
MyCat (?)
Crispy

any more? Norma? SAF?

TrillianAstra · 15/07/2010 11:33

Bit rubbish - people in NY asking for updates on things that I can't really do, because the two people who know about it are the two who are away. I can't even hack into a computer to see if they have any useful files because it is in Cardiff being fixed.

Are you getting married too Vinny? Has DS1's proposal encouraged more romance into your life?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 15/07/2010 11:37

Love the name change Mac.

DH has just phoned me from work just for a chat, I can't remember the last time he did that.

MacTheWife · 15/07/2010 11:37

our babies are growing up dib

no romance in my life trills, unfortunately, but maybe the wife in my name might be a good omen

i love it when our office is empty, i can MN in peace

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 15/07/2010 11:39

I need to have a bath. Bloody shower. I think I'll wait until DD wakes up then we can have a splash around together.
