Anyone else watching CH4 and Sunderland? Happy for the new MP but shocked at the Reform votes!! Over 11,000 people voted for Reform. But only 51% turnout.

It's a lot of votes in the in the context of a very new party.
Voters have brought a truncheon out to bash the tories on the head punch and Judy style.

Worth noting that Reform Ltd + Reform lite Con is less than Labour.

The Tories will have fewer MPs tomorrow morning than in anyone who is alive's lifetime.

BBC just updated their estimate for Conservative seats at 154, if so I wasn’t far off!

So Sunak will have managed to more than half the number of MPs his party has.
A triumph.

A very big majority means government backbenchers have almost no power to influence policy and ministers can act as unchecked dictators. That's a big issue. It's not just the opposition who hold ministers to account.

Literally nobody warned that when Boris Johnson got his huge majority. BoJo was forced out... Truss was forced out. BoJo's Govt payroll was said to be quite large to keep his lot happy. The 2019 intake of RedWall Tories seemed to have a lot of influence. Quite a few accountability mechanisms in view.

This time Rish! has managed to assist 8 of his colleagues to join that number.

Make no mistake, this is a huge defeat.

Stayed up until 5.00 to see Labour over the line and Rees-Mogg losing his seat.
Labour now on 411 and the Tories on 119 with only 5 seats to go.

The Tories have lost 254 seats, so it’s a huge defeat.

I think thank goodness the British public delivered, the polling indicators were right and the Tories have been shown the door!
