Who do we think is likely to front this programme? At one time I would have said Huw Edwards but he's now out of the picture. I can't see David Dimbleby doing it again given his age, unless he really wants to. I hope it will be Sophie Raworth or Fiona Bruce, someone who's been round the block a few times. I expect the likes of Jeremy Vine, John Curtice and Nick Eardley will be doing their stuff too.

OP posts:

I've always watched the BBC but C4 is looking more appealing.

LittleBowSheep · 28/05/2024 09:05

I gave up watching BBC News a long time ago due to their impartiality.

C4 News is in a different league altogether, they ask far more probing questions.

LittleBowSheep · 28/05/2024 09:05

Oops, I meant lack of impartiality.

SpentAll · 28/05/2024 09:08

I’m totally gutted we are on holiday - I’ve been waiting 14 years for this!!! Anyone know if you can watch C4 abroad?

Isitchill · 28/05/2024 11:32

"personal beef with John Curtice" 😮

I love John Curtice..

He’s like a twinkly pixie

Wonkypictureframe · 28/05/2024 12:17

He really isn’t all the time. 😂

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 28/05/2024 12:20

We are planning to sit up and watch the results come in.

I don't want Clive Myrie fronting it - I find him irrationally annoying. Fiona Bruce would do a good job, I think.

I do want to mention my favourite BBC political reporter though - Damian Grammaticus - simply because I love his name!

user1471453601 · 28/05/2024 12:30

I'll be watching Sky News. They've got Kay Burley on anchor with Ruth Davison, Trevor Phillips and Beth Rigby commenting.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 28/05/2024 12:40

Ohh that's interesting, @user1471453601 - I have a lot of time for Ruth Davison - I am a woolly Liberal, brought up by socialist parents, and could never vote Tory, but I did respect her.

I suspect we will watch mainly the BBC coverage - as well as being socialists, my parents were vehemently opposed to Commercial Television (commercials - the horror), so I was brought up solely on the BBC coverage - and now I am not good with change, so stick to the BBC for my news.

God, I sound elderly!

BlackEyesLikeADollsEyes · 28/05/2024 12:51

C4 here too. Happy to have Emily, with Alastair and Rory.

BlackEyesLikeADollsEyes · 28/05/2024 12:56

It's Laura K and Clive M on BBC... now confirmed

JoJothegerbil · 28/05/2024 12:56

Just watching the news and they've just announced Laura K and Clive Myrie on TV and Chris Mason on the radio.

tobee · 28/05/2024 13:15

This isn't the question but I like to flick about the channels. It used to be that the BBC would only put up declared and confirmed results. Whereas itv/Sky were predicted results put up as part of statistics. Which is disconcerting.

Jasmin1971 · 28/05/2024 13:27

I am going to watch channel 4

Wonkypictureframe · 28/05/2024 13:33

This will be the same. BBC is often latest with news because this is their editorial policy. Sky/ITN will go more on emerging facts that haven’t necessarily been confirmed.

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius I listen to Ruth Davison on the podcast she does with Beth Rigby and Jess Phillips.

like you I would never have voted for her. She's got a potty mouth on the podcast, a woman after my own heart in that respect.

Soozikinzii · 28/05/2024 14:11

O I like Alaister Campbell and Rory Stewart on their Resr is Politics podcast so I'll definitely be on C4.

LlynTegid · 28/05/2024 14:12

I think it will be Sky News for me.

tobee · 28/05/2024 15:17

Yes I assumed that it would be the same @Wonkypictureframe but did not have the information.

Zonder · 28/05/2024 16:29

DH and I might need to watch in different rooms. I can't bear to watch LK but he thinks it will be worth it to watch her suffer. We do both love CM.

MrsLeonFarrell · 28/05/2024 17:14

My body always wants to go to sleep but my mind insists on knowing what's going on so I end up listening to Radio 4 with headphones on in bed. It was good last time but I can't remember who was on. I can't bear Emily Matlis so will have to miss Rory and Alistair who I enjoy listening to.

User135644 · 28/05/2024 17:18

Hopefully Bruce and Kuenssberrg so we can see their sour Tory faces all night.

Mathsbabe · 28/05/2024 17:31

C4 for me but I'm sure I'll channel hop during the advert breaks. Always watched BBC until now

ThankYouAgainAgain · 28/05/2024 17:58

I'd one channel to offer commentary from Ian Hislop. I need a laugh. The guy from politics Joe pairs very well with him as an interviewer.

Also would enjoy hearing what Janey Godley had to say about it after the fact.
