Can we have a show of hands for a much needed Mumsnet application for iPhone/iTouch

Oh I wish there was one, it would make MNetting so much easier...

Those in favour say 'aye'.

Hopefully the lovely, lovely people at MNHQ will see this and if we get enough interest we may actually get an application......pleeeaaaasssee!

With only 9 of us so far....I'm afraid I think we'll have a bit of a wait for a dedicated mumsnet application. So for the time being use the shortcut thing that a few of you have mentioned. Touch the plus sign on the bottom of screen then touch on 'Add to home screen' et voila its on your home screen.

Why do we need an application? Get it up via Safari and Bob's Your Uncle. What am I failing to get?

Nontoxic - touch the icon and keep your finger on it until all the icons 'wobble' click on the cross to delete whichever icon you want rid of. Then click the home button to put them back to normal. Mitchy, the shortcut works through safari no probs.

An application will be make for 'sexy' MNetting! Why is there an application for Twitter, or Facebook, Mail, Wikipedia, Google,YouTube, or anything else for that matter??? You don't need to log in everytime, much, much easier and loads quicker than going through safari browser.

I have Mumsnet bookmarked on both my Googlephone and my husband's Iphone, so it works just like on my bigger computer. What difference would an application make?

I don't have to log in every time I go on MN on my iPhone - but maybe that's because I never log out anyway...

You can't c&p yet, which would be useful for posting links, but apparently some kind of c&p is coming this summer in the iPhone 3.0 software - though there are rumours that it won't actually work on Safari.

What I'd really like on MN is a way to refresh the page when you're at the bottom of it.

Treepose and hassled have you tried cutting and pasting a link on an iphone or itouch? Or tried rotating to get the landscape keyboard to make typing easier in mumsnet? Anyone else care to give other reasons why we need an app? Nontoxic - I'm sorry I'm not following you? Confused

cilitbang - I'm a bit confused by your last post - you can rotate the keyboard to landscape to type on MN, so you don't need an app for that. And do you mean you can c&p in the dedicated fb or twitter applications? - as I might bother to try them if so.

There's a little hack to use copy/paste on an iphone. Looks complicated but it's actually quite straightforwards one:

For landscape view, pardon if I'm missing something, but I just rotate the phone!

Also sometimes I need to zoom in and out to make the text bigger, you can do this double tapping, or by pinching the screen and then spreading your fingers apart, it will zoom in.
