It’s Fox poo not Rat so don’t worry ☺️

sallyannex · 26/07/2024 16:51

@Ineedwinenow but it’s tiny ? Like less than half the length of my thumb ?

Photos are zoomed in

Rat poos are similar to guinea pig poos. Regular shape and consistent in size, definitely not half the length of your thumb!!!

lightningstrikes · 26/07/2024 16:53

I think hedgehog poo.

Ineedwinenow · 26/07/2024 16:53

Ahh, it definitely could be if that’s small - I didn’t realise you had zoomed in ( rat poo tends to be just a little bit bigger than mouse poo)

AutumnFroglets · 26/07/2024 16:55

Can't tell if it's rat, mouse or (baby) hedgehog. Can you put something next to it for sizing?

BobnLen · 26/07/2024 16:55

Looks like hedgehog poo, we get it in our garden

BobnLen · 26/07/2024 16:59

If it's hedgehog poo it generally appears overnight, I sometimes have to be careful when I hang my washing out that I don't tread in it. DH often kindly clears it up.

Wizardcalledoz · 26/07/2024 17:03

Deff hedgehog pooh!

sallyannex · 26/07/2024 17:13

Thanks everyone. I really hope so I’m just confused about how small it is. When I google hedgehog poo it looks huge in comparison to these small droppings? And says they usually poo on lawns - I can’t see any in our grass! (It’s very short at the moment)

Might have to put one of our blink cameras against the bottom of the back door tonight see if we can capture anything on our patio !

WonderingWanda · 26/07/2024 17:17

Looks like hedgehogs to me too.

JaxiiTaxii · 26/07/2024 17:18

I'd say no.
Rats are clean, they have a toilet area.
Also the little tail on the pellets isn't ratty.

It would be uncharacteristic if they'd started randomly pooping on the patio.

I'd rather have rats in my garage than mice anyday.

Rat poos look like this

Don’t worry I washed my hands and the ruler.

sallyannex · 26/07/2024 17:22

@PortiasBiscuit going by this it’s the exact same size and look as the ones I have found then 😭

🤣

sallyannex · 26/07/2024 17:23

They just look way too tiny to be a hedgehog poop 🙈 from researching online

lcakethereforeIam · 26/07/2024 17:28

Rats are much commoner than hedgehogs unfortunately so, on balance of probability, it's most likely rats. If the garage was closed up I thinks it's likelier a rat would find some way in than a hedgehog.

Hedgehog poop is similar to kitten poop but a lot darker due to diet. If it's similar sizing to Portias then it's a rat, sorry.

sallyannex · 26/07/2024 20:06

@AutumnFroglets yes, exactly the same size 😫more concerned as I have 2 toddlers running round the garden and unsure what to do now! Is it best to get pest control to sort it ?

AgathaMystery · 26/07/2024 20:08

depends on the size of the hedgehog. Looks exactly like hedgehog!

MigGirl · 26/07/2024 20:15

Could also be mouse poo, we are reasonably rural and get a lot of mice. We can't leave anything in the garage that may get eaten, that includes clothing, tents, bird food, cleaning clothes, grass seed. They cew threw it and make nests.
