Help ?! It’s everywhere !? Google looks like it’s rat poo! Where could they be living ? In our garage ?

@PurpleBugz haha sorry!!

@GoFaster83 😂 I am hoping I get some footage to share! I’m now wondering if I should have left some food out to entice whatever it is right into camera view! If I get nothing tonight then that will be tomorrows plan….

Willing to bet you haven’t read the thread Grin

MossGrowsFat · 27/07/2024 09:50

Pmk.

I've only known rats to do tidy poos in one area not just randomly poo everywhere.

Ah, but do you leave rat food, hedgehog food or frog food? Grin
And unless you catch it in the act, can you be sure the animal on the camera is the one doing the poo?

if it’s a rat and you think it’s based in the garage, clearing the garage should sort it, they don’t like disturbance. I would think eliminating them from the garden would be a non-starter, new ones will move in.

If it came from a fox, the fox would be the size of a guinea pig.

We’d already rejected fox on size grounds several times

Just because you haven't personally seen a guinea pig sized fox doesn't mean they don't exist. This could be a newer version of a mini beast of bodmin 😬

I hope OP manages to capture something. Be a bit of a bugger if all she caught were foxes passing through 😂

Well no updates as of yet but we now have a cat shitting in the centre of our garden which is bloody great! 2 nights running now.

Seems all the local wildlife want to use my garden as a toilet for some strange reason! I actually keep it very clean and tidy as I have two little toddlers and now I don’t even want them going out there🥲 I wouldn’t mind as much if it was winter but its finally hot and now my garden is full of animals sh*t!

I’ve just ordered a bulk of items on Amazon to try and deter this cat and it’s giant sh*ts it’s left in my garden. Vile. And this one is definitely cats.. if I ever manage to capture anything on our outdoor patio camera I will come back to this thread to let you know who the mystery pooer is 😅

Don't use the hypersonic thing to deter cats. It will drive your toddlers demented and you are unlikely to be able to hear it.

Actually it will drive some of her neighbours mad too. I can hear some of them and I'm ancient. Some councils class them as a noise nuisance and will make you stop using them (thank goodness).

Try a motion sensor water spray.

frankincenseandoranges · 28/07/2024 17:24

Rats are always somewhere nearby, if you're outside. I wouldn't worry about it.

AutumnFroglets · 28/07/2024 17:33

To be fair to that cat maybe it ate the rat and was pooping it back out in the place it found dinner.

Scarletrunner · 28/07/2024 17:42

We have pipistrelle bats -they do poos like mouse poos but they are on window ledges, the roof of the car. Could it be a larger type of bat-did someone leave an outside light on all night which attracted moths and then bats?

Scarletrunner · 30/07/2024 19:42

Did you get a photo OP?

deeahgwitch · 18/08/2024 09:36

What animal was it @sallyannex ?

sallyannex · 07/09/2024 11:50

@Hambala especially for you as I think you was right! And for anyone who cares …. We had it come and go in drips and drabs… lots on our patio this morning and when I was clearing the garden area where the kids old toys are piled I think I have found the suspect …. Also with some babies. I think where rain water has collected it must have been in there.. we live behind a lake also.

And since googling toad poo it is exactly what’s on my patio! 😅

I'm so glad it was toad poo and not rat poo @sallyannex

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 07/09/2024 18:17

I definitely think hedgehog too. Rat poo look like Tony oval pellets and it's more brown in colour (a bit like Guinea pig poo but a bit bigger). Hedgehog poo looks almost black.

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 07/09/2024 18:18

Dog should have RFTT apologies. I've never seen road before!
