Small courtyard garden - roses, nemesia (Wisley vanilla) and marigold plants (all bought as plugs) are blooming away!

NewmummyJ · 27/05/2024 17:46

Petunias

Singleandproud · 27/05/2024 17:49

I've got a meadow garden, ox eye daisy's and poppies have just started opening. Knapweed is getting ready but don't think they'll be around for another couple of weeks. Lots of sorrel although they don't flower as such. The grasses have just gone to seed and looking good in the wind

SatinHeart · 27/05/2024 17:52

We've got two roses which have started to flower in the last week or so. Also a couple of Salvia bushes that are covered in bright red flowers and should go on all summer.

PMPBlue · 27/05/2024 17:52

Not a lot. The wisteria is still hanging on, and the nemesia is looking good.

Other than those, lots of buds but nothing yet blooming.

Boogiemam · 27/05/2024 17:52

Peonies and random weeds 🤣

SleepingisanArt · 27/05/2024 17:54

Rhododendron, azaleas, wallflowers (Bowles Mauve), campanula, Rose is just starting to flower, allium siculum (common name honey garlic - the bees love them), gladioli (some now some will flower in July) and the other allium, poppies and lillies will burst into flower over the next few weeks. Garden is very loud as the bees are very busy!

CassandraProphesying · 27/05/2024 17:55

Poppies, Foxgloves, still a bit of Cytisus flowering, Cala Lily, Canterbury Bells, Campanula, Weigela, Clematis, some early Dahlias are out, Forsythia, loads of different Alpines, Delphinium, Cistus, Heucheras just coming out, Rhododendrons still out, some Roses out, Lupins, Alliums, Agapanthus just appearing, Geums, still a bit of Pulmonaria flowering, Irises though they’re going over, Aquilegia, Erigeron, Hot Lips Salvia, Violas, Scabiosa just coming out, Peony, even got some Brunnera still in flower.

I'm in London so probably ahead of most parts of the country. On my allotment I have some lovely Dutch irises that are just finishing. On my balcony, a lovely Salvia jamensis 'Golden Girl', a little rose bush and pelargoniums.
Can you have a nosy look into your neighbours' front gardens to see what's doing well for them?

Snooks1971 · 27/05/2024 17:58

Oh…rhododendron (going over slightly but still covered with an army of huge bees) tea rose, lovely ditsy bedding lobelia cascading.

Looking forward to my dahlias!!

I've got roses (climbing and bush), wallflowers, peonies, allium, foxgloves and some bedding plants doing their thing at the moment. Cosmos and verbena are coming along nicely too, ready to flower soon.

@LuluBlakey1 which white poppy do you have please??

midgetastic · 27/05/2024 18:01

Roses and rhododendron and alliums and buttercups

happybluefern · 27/05/2024 18:02

Roses, aquilegia, wallflowers and the ferns look great although not a flower.

AutumnBride · 27/05/2024 18:04

Peonies, hydrangea (partly), Lamium, aquilegia, osteospermum, saxifrage, poppies, alliums.

Lots of buds otherwise.

Chewbecca · 27/05/2024 18:04

My leptospermum is looking at its best at the moment, as is the ceanothus.
Also some pink daisy types flowers whose name I don't know.
Roses just starting, and the wisteria which is a late flowering one.
I have a couple of pretty cistus which are usually fab now but not this year 🤷

I don't know. It has lost it's label and we have had it for a number of years. It's big , just white and blowsy and the stamens are dark purple/blue.
I prefer the pink one but something has scoffed inside all the buds.

CatherinedeBourgh · 27/05/2024 18:05

A camellia, lady of shallot roses, various dianthus, oriental poppies, centranthus ruber edible sage and chives, a peony, a creeping thyme (others not yet), a perennial wallflower, heuchera pluie du feu, sage royal bumble and gaura are just starting, a weigela, a couple of clematis and a centaurea montana.

It's been miserable and cold and rainy, so the garden is not at its best.

Shinyandnew1 · 27/05/2024 18:05
