Allium, roses, salvia, cosmos, ceanothus, weigela, geum, wallflower, geranium (just), viola, foxgloves, Erigeron, fuschia, cornflower, marigold, cow parsley, cotinus, phlox, delphinium, pelargonium, scabious, wisteria, bacopa, heuchera, verbascum, euphorbia, strawberry, chrysanthemums, black-eyed Susan, petunia, lavender, chives and some stuff I should know the names of but don’t.

RowenaCoxwell · 27/05/2024 18:08

Here in South Yorkshire - Clematis, peonies, wigelia, huge bush fuchsia and the most beautiful giant alliums (christophii and red giant star, from Farmer Gracy)

bilgewater · 27/05/2024 18:10

Our garden's a complete random mishmash, so quite a bit. Lavender, peonies (although these are sadly very bedraggled due to all the rain) hydrangea, rhododendron, azaleas, loads of Bowles Mauve (going strong since March!), campanula and salvia hot lips all in flower. Various roses and Chilean potato also looking lovely. Alliums are already going over to seed sadly, but rose campion, valerian, poppies, fuchsia and everlasting sweetpea will be coming in the next month or so. London and in a sheltered spot so everything seems to flower quite early.

@LuluBlakey1 which white poppy do you have please??

Just been and had a look. It has taken a battering from the rain over the last few days and this is what is left but lots still to open. It isn't all white after all, it has purple inside and the stamens are purple.

scrivette · 27/05/2024 18:54

Allium, rhododendron, fuchsia, lavender and the hydrangeas are just starting to get some colour, plus one random rose.

scrivette · 27/05/2024 18:55

The Sweet Williams that I planted about four years ago on the roof of the shed have made their first appearance this year alongside the Nigella and forget me nots.

VerbenaGirl · 27/05/2024 18:58

Clematis, rambling rose and salvia, brightened up with a few pots of summer bedding.

Erigeon
Beauty of Livermere poppies and another more orangey one that I've forgotten the name of
French Lavender
Salvia
Snapdragons just getting going
Phlox
Bowles Mauve and an orange wallflower just about hanging on
Pansies in hanging baskets
Verbena
Allium
One rose - the other is still in tight bud
Cistus
Black-eyed Susan has three flowers!

Although it sounds like a lot, the garden isn't anything like as packed with blooms as it usually is in May. Funnily enough, April was better, with tulips, euphorbia, narcissi, camellia, the rose thats still blooming, wisteria and clematis.

Resisterance · 27/05/2024 19:22

Tiny front garden and only planted these a year ago. Very happy!

I'm quite far north so behind much of the country. Still have the last tulips clinging on but also have alliums, poppies, honesty, heuchera, peonies (just about), violas, wallflowers (looking very sad, not sure what's up there) anemones, phlox, geraniums, azaleas, rhododendrons, forget-me-nots, brunnera, dicentra.

Roses and hydrangeas still tightly in bud and lavender barely doing anything yet.

DaphneduM · 27/05/2024 20:06

roses
red campion
erigeron karvinskianus
valerian officianalis
centranthus ruber - both red and white

FindingMeno · 27/05/2024 21:16

Foxgloves, aquilegia, a variety of perennial poppy, Hardy geraniums, French lavender, clematis, honeysuckle, perennial cornflower, green alkanet, roses, hosta, rhododendron, campanula.
Forget me nots, azaleas and sweet woodruff have just finished.

FindingMeno · 27/05/2024 21:27

I think I also have feverfew starting to flower but a bit late now to shift my bum and look.
My suggestions for very easy flowers for around this time are clematis, aquilegia, French lavender, Hardy geraniums and foxgloves. You can't really go wrong with them.
Feverfew is great as are calendula. Like aquilegia, they self seed freely.

It’s beautiful! Thank you!

Sunriseatsix · 27/05/2024 23:31

Lots and lots of foxgloves.
Some poppies - no idea what kind but very delicate foliage. Chunky-leaved poppies are coming.
My snowball tree (proper name?) has just finished, as have my azaleas.

My tulips all died over winter and so I fear the same has happened to my incredible dahlias.

In beds - roses, peonies, ranunculus and tree peonies. Alliums on their last innings. Ditto rhododendrons.

I’ve just planted lots of dahlias and cornflowers.

Porridgeislife · 28/05/2024 07:28

Geranium Rozanne started last week which I’m happy about. It’s once of my favourite plants.

Veronica is flowering and nepeta Purrsian Blue has just started too.

We also own the world’s fussiest rose (David Austin Summer Song) which has finally fully flowered after the better part of 10 years and 3 relocations (pot to part shade to something approximating Mediterranean blazing sun).

yeoldbamboo · 28/05/2024 08:25

Just a very deep purple/blue iris I saved from our garden reno out of curiosity and I'm so pleased I did - in the one little corner I've started planting up, it looks stunning with all the greenery, sometimes less is more.

yikesanotherbooboo · 28/05/2024 10:07

Roses and peonies are just starting.
Azaleas and rhododendrons are pretty well over.
Geraniums, alliums and bleeding heart are in flower. I have pelargoniums in pots to add some colour.
