To continue into Spring 2022.

Unfortunately, I am not sure how many pictures I will be able to supply this year . Some builders are in building an extension for me .
I might have to live off all your lovely photos. Keep them coming!💐

@Sweetpea1532 That's an amazing story of how your avocado tree started life! Yes that would be great if you could keep us posted, thanks

Fantastic! I've always wanted to grow a lemon tree. I have tried growing peppers from seed and they're in the greenhouse but slugs have somehow managed to get in and eat them! They are only little bell peppers. Can't remember name but will post photos tomorrow

BrownStripePJ · 31/08/2022 21:52

Some things survived the drought!

I've reported my post...

Robin233 · 03/09/2022 04:12

Oooh @Sweetpea1532 your lemon tree is doing better than mine. Well done.
I hope mine catches up
I brought it last year with one proper size fruit on simply because it grow in a cold conservatory.
It's outside at the moment so we'll see.

Sweetpea1532 · 03/09/2022 04:48

Hey, @Robin233 believe me..i cant claim any special talent involved with this lemon tree...my DD bought it and cared for it tenderly for a couple years until she found an empty syringe amongst its leave.( she lives in a beach area where there are homeless drug addicted people who like to do hateful things) after she found the syringe she couldn't trust that her lemon wouldn't be injected with drugs so she reluctantly gifted it to me...I think I've had it a couple years, so it's been out of the garden center for at least 4 years. The spot on my drive where I have my fruit growing has the perfect conditions..all day sun with shade in the late afternoon and then some more sun in the early evening. I remember my daughter told me that it likes to have airflow, so I've pruned the branches back. I also have it on wheels so I can roll it around. That way all sides get sun...
Give yours a few more years and it'll start producing lemons like crazy because you have a very green thumbSmile
Attached is a photo of some passionfruit that keep dropping on my drive from the Heavens...they are huge this year...some are bigger than tennis balls. It's said that the more shriveled up the skin, the sweeter they will be. We've not found this to be true in the least.
We're still not able to park on our upper drive because the support poles are still needed. We've had at least 200 so far...the vine has been in the ground for about 5 years. My DH has started to put them on his morning cereal like strawberries. I have to say it's rather unusual to hear him chomping away on the PF seeds

@Robin233 I'm glad to hear you've been able to revive your plants. Your Passionfruit looks very healthy

@AnneKipankitoo you amaze me with your ability to grow trees from seed! Your lemon will be getting bigger in no time at allSmile

Sweetpea1532 · 03/09/2022 15:55

@Robin233 I'm a bit behind on reading posts so I've just seen your lemon tree...it's doing well!....my only suggestion is to put it in a bigger pot as it grows...I've upsized the pot 3 times, I believe.

Sweetpea1532 · 04/09/2022 02:45

Photo of my avocado tree. It's 33cm tall.
Also, photo of the trunk of my lemon tree. Can you see the exposed roots? They look very hardy in real life.

Some lovely pictures! @Sweetpea1532 the passion fruit look amazing and your husband and the morning breakfast made me chuckle.

We had such a scorching summer that most my plants shrivelled up but since the rain they're coming back stronger and happier. I've been so disconnected, what with being pregnant and constantly away all summer. Here are a few I managed to capture. I did miss reading this thread however and all the pretty pictures.

Your tree looks lovely and healthy. The leaves have a good shine and attractive colour.

I have a young blueberry tree I have planted in a large pot with ericaceous compost..it's not worth posting photos yet as it hasn't done much and is very small!

BooseysMom · 04/09/2022 05:41

@greenerfingers.. beautiful photos 😊

Sweetpea1532 · 04/09/2022 06:02

Wow@greenerfingers ...you DO have greener fingers! Your photos are so colourful. And those vegetables are so healthy looking.

@BooseysMom
I've not heard of ericaceous compost...fingers crossed for your blueberry bush...I've tried blueberries here but haven't had much luck.

AnneKipankitoo · 04/09/2022 16:09

Delighted to find a baby frog in our new(ish) today! I've been waiting for one to appear for ages! He sat on the fountain then plopped down into the water. It's quite deep but there are shelves and plenty of oxygenating plants growing (although no lilies) Does anyone know if they hibernate in ponds over winter?

We get little tree frogs on the deck all summer and well into fall.
