applecatchers36 · 03/11/2021 14:03

This is blooming I think it's cafe au lait dahlia which is meant to be a soft pink blush but has come out white but quite striking against a purple salvia

You were busy! Lovely planters and hanging basketsHalloween Smile

Just got back from a 3 week east coast visit..My DH was very distraught that he'd loved the flower box to death that I'd put together for him before I left..
Poor diddums...I'd forgotten to tell him that some of the flowers were annuals and they were supposed to die outHalloween Grin

New name !

FarrahformerlySwtPea · 08/11/2021 21:15

Yes!
Oh, @AnneKipankitoo
I just couldn't do that...he takes his temporary gardening career vert seriously....especially when those darn squirrels ate his canary Island Palm 😂
Speaking of squirrels.....look what they were up to whilst I was away! Dug out the slope up under the ice plant and made a huge mess throwing dirt and rocks about and down the culvert cover..."Hahahalol, She's away, so we're gonna play!"Halloween AngryHalloween Hmm
Well, they got quite a baptism ceremony yesterday afternoon.."splish, splash, they were takin' a bath!"

@Robin233
How is your Passionfruit vine doing? I've attached a photo I took yesterday. Before I went back east I harvested about 50 purple fruit...now there are a zillion green ones that have just started to grow. I don't know if you can see what I've done in the photo...I have a central pole at the plant site and then I've taken coated stereo speaker wire I had lying about ( I'm big into repurposing cheap ) and fanned it out over the drive. I then attached it to various things poking out of my roof...top of the fireplace, plumbing vents, etc...I hope a big wind doesn't blow through and cause my roof to go sailingHalloween Grin
The vines love to be supported so with a little help they will attach to the wires.Halloween Smile
Oh, it's me, Sweetpea Halloween Wink

FarrahformerlySwtPea · 08/11/2021 21:32

Uh, yeah...no photo..I guess I'll have to wait to attach it tomorrowHalloween Hmm

Robin233 · 08/11/2021 23:52

@FarrahformerlySwtPea
No further flowers on the passion fruit vine. I saw one today with at least 5 new blooms.
Last week one of my vines actually partly fell off the trellis and to be retreaded. Wind I think.

We also had a frost which seemed to upset my voila (either that or the wood pigeons sat on them).

FarrahformerlySwtPea · 09/11/2021 01:42

Oh no, @Robin233 , not the dreaded viola smashing wood pigeon?
I'll keep my fingers crossed for yours to bloom...I think it took mine awhile to bloom, too. The vine may need to grow some more to support the blooms. Is the vine growing at all?
We park under our vine so every once in a while one will plunk down on the bonnet, roll down the drive and down the street because we are on a huge hill.Halloween Smile

@Robin233
Those red flowers coming out of the green leaves are from an errant bougainvillea branch

AnneKipankitoo · 09/11/2021 07:28

It looks lovely SP.
Hope you can support your passion @Robin233.

Robin233 · 09/11/2021 14:06
