I’ve made a little zen corner with a potted acer.

@everywhichway Paris Polyphylla! What's it like to grow?

LunaNorth · 03/07/2021 22:05

@WobblyLondoner

Gorgeous pictures *@LunaNorth*. My GJ is almost finished :(
She’s beautiful while she lasts.
everywhichway · 03/07/2021 22:19

Well done Wobbly - Paris polyphylla it is!

It's actually quite easy to grow - mine is in a shady, cool spot in fairly moist soil and seems pretty happy there.

It's not too easy to find though!

AnneKipanki · 03/07/2021 22:23

DS is building me a raised veg, herb bed, it’s going to be very high as I have some back issues. I’m excited about this and we have two fence panels and part of a small shed that was demolished so don’t have to buy any wood:)

Sweetpea1532 · 04/07/2021 02:23

Oh my goodness! I can't believe all the colour that has exploded across thread 5! I'd been hanging out over on thread 4 and had no idea what gorgeousness was awaiting me...thank you for starting a 5th thread @AnneKipanki !
I decided to wait until my 4th of July to open your special surprise...looking forward to it..thanks!

applecatchers36 · 04/07/2021 07:40

Love your zen corner Luna looks very calm and peaceful 🌅

Great planters Snowone, that's a very pretty purple petunia ...

WobblyLondoner · 04/07/2021 09:41

Alchemilla in the rain. I think the little purple flowers are self heal - a 'weed' but a very pretty one that I like.

@everywhichway my final question I promise - I've read PP likes more acidic soil - is that your soil type?

Hi Wobbly. My soil is a pretty neutral loam - any acid lovers would have to go into containers with ericaceous compost. My Paris polyphlla is in one of my borders though and doesn't appear to be under any stress.

@AnneKipanki
Awww, AK that tribute is amazing...it gave me chill bumps and misty eyes. It has so many things in it that are near and dear to my heart...the beautiful red bird flitting around reminds my of my father who passed away 4 years ago...whenever we see a Red bird in the garden we say, "There's Dad checking on his garden" , and blue hydrangeas are one of my favourites. Well, actually everything about it is perfect.
That's was so kind of you to post it. Thank you! Your greeting is the best one I've ever seen in honour of the 4th of July, and I'm old!🏆

They are nice @Trayble. I had no success with them.
Not sure @StrawberryFizz26, a gentle shake and just let nature do it ?
