@applecatchers36
Thank you for the link...I'm looking forward to listening to it.Flowers
@StrawberryFizz26 I'm so disappointed for you about your wild flower border...the poor things really took a beatingShock

LunaNorth · 05/07/2021 05:38

@StrawberryFizz26 they’ll perk up again when the sun shines, don’t worry.

StrawberryFizz26 · 05/07/2021 07:57

sweatpea1532
They really did. The poor dog got that blame at first but then realised when we went to the park the same had happened to flowers at the park too.

I don't know whether to try and lift them back up or not?

I need to mow the grass and the edges of the borders anyway but can't do anything until the grass isn't sopping.

lunanorth thank you! Fingers crossed the sun comes out soon.

Sweetpea1532 · 05/07/2021 10:02

@StrawberryFizz26

Poor doggies....they get blamed for everything 😂 doggie needs an extra treat to make up for the mistaken identity Grin

Here's hoping the flowers perk right up like @LunaNorth said.

Boy, there is nothing worse than trying to mow wet grass...what a mess....sending thoughts of warm sunshine your way.🌞🌝

How are everyone's roses holding up?

AnneKipanki · 05/07/2021 10:34

Not been out yet .
It has been raining heavily since yesterday afternoon.

You lot must be floating away over there @AnneKipanki
Do you have mosquitoes? Mudslides?
My admiration for your gardening endeavours have just increased 10 fold.! You must be very dedicated to having a nice garden with all the rain and such.Flowers

AnneKipanki · 05/07/2021 16:02

@AnneKipanki

I'll keep my mosquitoes then..midges and horseflies are terrible..... sure does hurt when they take a chomp out of youHmm

Sweetpea1532 · 05/07/2021 17:24

Not too exciting after seeing everyone else's beautiful colour and @campion 's cool dragonfly photo, but this swallowtail
visiting a butterfly bush is all I've gotGrin

Wow! Thread 5 has only just begun and there's so much on here already! Thanks for starting a new one @AnneKipanki.

So many gorgeous photos 😍

I particularly love the Foxgloves and the Lupins, I don't have any luck with either sadly.

I can't believe how many Roses you have @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet! Amazing.

Lovely pond @campion. I was lucky enough to see a dragonfly emerge the other day too, I was so impressed!

Beautiful Roses @LunaNorth, I especially like that purple one.

Very impressive butterfly @Sweetpea1532! Glad I made you laugh with my seedlings all over the house! I'm not sure the visitors I had were looking forward to a feast, but I'm pretty sure they thought I was completely nuts!! 😆

No new pictures from me I'm afraid 🤷🏼‍♀️

RIPwalter · 05/07/2021 21:45

Sweetpea1532 · 06/07/2021 14:19

@AnneKipanki the butterfly WAS huge..he kept returning during the day(at least I think it was the same one 🤪)

@RipWalter your photos look like a gorgeous film backdrop...so unusual and amazing. Did you run over to the rainbow and search for the pot of gold?

Your area looks like paradise....of course there always has to be one teeny annoyance...midges are no fun!

ImprobablePuffin · 06/07/2021 15:38

I'm very much a novice gardener but I have a lovely mock orange, water forget-me-nots and my gold flame honeysuckle has just started doing something too!

Yes @Sweetpea1532! That's no exaggeration! All the windowsills were full, the dining room table, even the bedroom was full of seedlings! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Stunning photos @RIPwalter! Love those steps and your stone wall.

Lovely photos @ImprobablePuffin.

I'm sharing a Verbena I got recently from the shelf of doom at the garden centre - reduced to just 50 cents but it's absolutely fine now it's settled in place! And my first Cosmos has flowered, it's a dwarf variety so only ca. 25-30cm tall.

Im sure you're right but I lost my sense of smell end of 2019 and it's yet to return 😣
Sweetpea1532 · 06/07/2021 23:14

@AnneKipanki
Awww, the little puggie is so cute!
Thank you for postingFlowers....aren't puggie's so funny...that little face makes it seem as if they have the world's problems on their little shoulders. It makes me remember happy times with my little GracieGirl ❤..people were always trying to cheer her upGrin

Sweetpea1532 · 06/07/2021 23:24

@beautyisfoundwithin

Hahahalol! I didn't picture anything like you've just described...you worked so hard to get your little handful of peas...you were bound and determined to have something to show for it.😂
I had a big laugh today when my DDIL showed me her string beans she lovingly planted and imagined feeding to her toddler...
For reference, the gnome is about 12cm high..."beans" are less than 2cm long😂
