@Sweetpea1532
Well spotted lol
Was a good weekend- even finished the conifer hedge cut, though dh will have to do the top.

AnneKipankitoo · 04/10/2021 08:43

Thanks @Robin233
No idea what it is ( type ) . We had it for years and it flowered for the first time last year .

applecatchers36 · 04/10/2021 14:36

Sounds like it has been weekend in the garden ladies.

Have finally got around to digging up the straggly sweet peas and have now planted in the daffodils/ narcissus will wait till November to put in the tulips.

These are some late flowering nasturtiums that are still going strong...

@applecatchers36
Oh well done !
I love nasturtium.
One year I put a load in the garden boarder as an experiment

They went berserk lol
Next year I'm going to put some nasturtium seeds in with my plants in the hanging baskets - see what happens.

Sweetpea1532 · 04/10/2021 19:37

@AnneKipankitoo

Beautiful clematis and awesome alien 👽 sprouting specimen

AnneKipankitoo · 04/10/2021 21:38

😂 SP

beautyisfoundwithin · 05/10/2021 17:29

I love "rack of redemption" @Sweetpea1532! Much more optimistic than "shelf of doom"! I look forward to the photos.

Very impressive @AnneKipankitoo!

Those Nasturtiums are looking good @applecatchers36, sounds like you had a productive weekend too 👍🏼

We've got cold weather coming in according to the forecast so I snipped some of my flowers that were still looking pretty good and popped them in a vase. Figured I may as well, so I can enjoy them indoors instead of letting the bad weather ruin them.

What a beautiful posy Beauty lovely pinks!

Sweetpea1532 · 05/10/2021 18:35

@beautyisfoundwithin
I can just imagine the glorious fragrance coming from your pink bouquet 💐 ...you're quite talented in flower arranging!

Our hummingbirds have discovered the zinnia ...it's been fun watching them buzz about investigating the new garden additions...the sun has been so hot that I've had to relocate the vinca to a shady area 😳

AnneKipankitoo · 05/10/2021 18:38

Gorgeous arrangement @beautyisfoundwithin.

Sweetpea1532 · 05/10/2021 18:44

I know this is a bit derailing of @AnneKipankitoo s thread..... I'm so sad to report we've had a massive oil spill off our coast resulting in bird, sea mammal, plantlife endangerment and also human life...😭😭😭😢😥
All the more reason our colourful gardening is important to bring some beauty to the world..Flowers

AnneKipankitoo · 05/10/2021 19:05

That is so sad SP . I did see it in the news and wondered if it was close to you .

Sweetpea1532 · 06/10/2021 02:03

Thanks @AnneKipankitoo,

It has now reached SanDiego..so from Los Angeles to the Mexico border....they think that a huge container ship had dropped anchor to wait out the backlog at the docks, then forgot to pull it back up..🐳🐋🐬🦭🐠🐡🐙🐟🦈😭

Sweetpea1532 · 06/10/2021 02:36

Those darn squirrels! Here is what they did to my DHs beautiful healthy Canary Island Palm tree😡
It had just started to get full.and was about 2 metres tall and 2 metres wide...they ate straight through the trunk horizontally and left a hole like someone had shot a missile clean through itShockHmmAngry causing all the fronds to fall off 😭

Wow 😮!

Robin233 · 06/10/2021 07:38

Oh no @Sweetpea1532
I thought I had problems with squirrel 🐿 when they would try and bury their nuts in my planters - leaving compost everywhere- they've stopped now.
But your poor tree .
Will it live?

applecatchers36 · 06/10/2021 09:28

Sad news SP for the coast from the oil slick and for you from the squirrel 🐿️ destroying your tree 😡 I thought I had problems with them digging up bulbs but that hole is pretty huge 😲

AnneKipankitoo · 06/10/2021 11:13

I told you it is the best restaurant in town ! 😂

How the hell do you forget to pull it back up?? I sometimes forget to take my handbrake off at lights and I instantly know!! Heart-breaking for all the wild life.
