@Elephantscantfly
I love your new found purple thistle..my DDIL used them in her wedding flowers...so unusual and really added to the bouquet.

BooseysMom · 05/09/2021 20:36

My photos will no longer send. It keeps saying they have to be min 90 pixels but I haven't changed the settings or anything Confused

AnneKipankitoo · 05/09/2021 21:12

That’s strange @BooseysMom

AnneKipankitoo · 05/09/2021 21:18

I've never seen yews before...thanks for sharing..I'm loving the red berries..I bet the birds are happy to see them, alsoGrin

BooseysMom · 06/09/2021 05:37

Thank you to those who replied to my photo not posting msg. My phone is really stupid sometimes! Grin

AnneKipankitoo · 06/09/2021 08:11

Our cars are not happy with the result SP 😂

AnneKipankitoo · 06/09/2021 08:12

The berries are popular with thrush and blackbirds.

Sweetpea1532 · 06/09/2021 14:33

@AnneKipankitoo

I bet! Splat, splat, splat!Grin

AnneKipankitoo · 06/09/2021 15:06

Yes.
Sticks too !

Sweetpea1532 · 06/09/2021 15:26

Your birds sound as if they graduated the same "School of Irritating Humans" as my squirrels. CHEEKY MONKEYS!

Sweetpea1532 · 06/09/2021 15:27

Graduated with Top Honors, too!

Sweetpea1532 · 06/09/2021 15:29

The squirrels in South USA aren't as destructive as West Coast squirrels...they just enjoy throwing acorns down on your head if you're trying to relax in the shade Shock

Sweetpea1532 · 06/09/2021 15:40

I had to put hats on DM and DGS to protect them from those acorns...they were deadly... at least 5 cm long!Shock

I put my back out standing on an acorn.
I rode it like a skateboard initially until I didn’t.

Sweetpea1532 · 07/09/2021 02:41

@AnneKipankitoo
Youch! That's terrible! I'm sorry to hear that. I bet a squirrel put it there for you to walk on, tooHmm

applecatchers36 · 07/09/2021 08:17

Cute pic of DGS and DM modelling the squirrel protecting hats Sweetpea 😍

Oof that sounds painful but also your description created a hilarious mental image
Sweetpea1532 · 07/09/2021 11:49

@applecatchers36
Thank you! I was desperate for protection for them as it was a beautiful day and dgs loves the garden. I didn't think DS and DDIL would appreciate a bump on baby's little noggin.

AnneKipankitoo · 07/09/2021 12:57

Yes , nice hats !
Thanks @ImprobablePuffin

Sweetpea1532 · 07/09/2021 19:14

@AnneKipankitoo😂

I'm at my DSs house and we had a visitor twice during the wee hours...an adolescent bear!
. He was much much smaller than the past one I posted about...he's probably a 2 year old...but his "digging in the bin and spreading rubbish about" skills rival that of his older friend. DS saw him on the CCTV. I will post photos when I receive them...good thing I wasn't out doing some late night gardening 😳

On another note, DD on the other Coast has sent me photos of her wildflower garden that she started this year from a seed packet! I'm very proud that she hasn't inherited my inability to grow anything from seed. This is her first year for flowers..shes grown vegetables and citrus trees in previous years, but unfortunately some unsavoury types put used hypodermic syringes in amongst her vegs and lemon tree so she is afraid to eat anything from her garden so she transitioned to flowers..shes amazed at how much less water the flowers require compared to the vegs.
Since she planted a wildflower packet shes not sure what the prolific pink flowers are...anyone have any guesses?

Don’t know SP

Sweetpea1532 · 11/09/2021 01:25

Here are the photos I promised of the visiting bear...he first came twice in the wee hours of 7/9 and I guess he must have enjoyed his bin dining experience because he showed up for more in the mid afternoon yesterday!!! Broad daylight! I would have fainted if I'd come upon him during the day. He might have, tooGrin

Little Booboo looks about 1 or 2 years old.Bear
