I'm sharing a sweet little rose that's flowering at the moment, the flowers are only teeny. And a photo of one of my lavender bushes, it's not the best photo but the best I could do!

@PolytheneRam You should be so bloody proud! That is one beautiful garden, everything looks like it's flourishing.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 27/07/2021 21:16

Gorgeous pictures. Too many to mention.
The buddleia is like a magnet to butterflies, it’s just covered in them now Smile

@LadyEloise It’s a shame I don’t know the name. It has finished blooming now but I’m pretty certain it blooms again. I can ask what the name is at a rose garden centre I go to. We planted it 10 years ago

My anemones are beginning to bloom. They’re the only thing that’s been early this year

@AnneKipankitoo
The hedge is very nice...have you carved an initial in it? I think I can work out a large caligraphy capital À ..colourful border also!

Sweetpea1532 · 27/07/2021 22:38

@beautyisfoundwithin
That little blush rose is precious..she looks so proud to be blooming!
Hey, about your sweetpeas...that's exactly why I've deemed you as the Queen of Sweetpeas! You were willing to go the extra 100 miles to make sure you had success with your planting...🤣🤣🤣 Still laughing when I think of your little seedlings growing on every windowsill in every room !

AnneKipankitoo · 28/07/2021 07:42

Thanks. @Sweetpea1532.
It was not a deliberate attempt at an A.

I agree that pale pink rose is delightful.

LadyEloise · 28/07/2021 08:48

Thank you @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet
It would be great if you could find out for me.
It really is beautiful.

Is the Red Admiral classified as a butterfly or moth? Either way, it's gorgeous..doesn't even look real...I am loving your allium, too...it looks so healthy Flowers[/quote]
I have now been corrected that it is in fact an Agapanthus - my ID skills are horrible! Re the red admiral I'm pretty sure it's a butterfly but I stand to be corrected!

My photos of today - taken on a visit to a local garden opening for the national garden scheme. Very inspiring. Small but fantastic structure and some lovely planting.

@ImprobablePuffin

You were right, like @AnneKipankitoo agreed with..
Butterfly ..Sheldon has attached an interesting factoid about them Grin

LOL about the agapanthus...they are very prolific here in Southern Calif...but I've only seen the lavender or white varieties..we also have giant ones or petite ones...is yours as pink as it looks? I'd love to see a new photo of it in full bloom..we call them

"Lilies of the Nile" here...they are very drought tolerant!

@Sweetpea1532 I shall take some more pics when it flowers a little more....if it survives the bloody wind we're getting here today - it's insane and has caused three buds of my Claire Austin to snap today sadly.

ImprobablePuffin · 28/07/2021 19:14

@Sweetpea1532 this is what it looks like right now - not in full bloom but getting there

Sweetpea1532 · 28/07/2021 22:25

It's beautiful @ImprobablePuffin

I hope the wind is kind to it...mine survived my tornado of a DS for years Grin

I really love the look of Creeping Jenny but didn't want it to take hold in the garden so I potted it and hung in a little cage so hopefully it'll trail down as it grows. I'm hoping it'll be quite effective once established

Today's photos. 😊. A crimson rudbeckia, growing this for the first time and it looks nice against the deep reddish brown of the berberis; two different kinds of agastache (hyssop) and a cat with flowers which befits my username 😂

Does anyone else feel that autumn is gently creeping in, especially early morning and evening? Something about the changing light and the dew on the grass first thing. It's what I love best about living in Britain, the changing seasons ☀️ 🍁

Loving your phlox photos. We have one which flowered very early and was very pretty but was finished by the end of May!

AnneKipankitoo · 05/08/2021 08:46

Your cat is a poseur, @catwithflowers 😁♥️♥️♥️

Suzysunflower · 05/08/2021 11:48

Hi, is there room for one more gardening enthusiast? I have really enjoyed seeing all your pictures and I'd love to join you.

I am based the SE of England and in lockdown we started the taming of our own mini jungle and I have totally fallen in love with plants (not ivy and brambles though, they are the bane of my life!!) - in 2020 we did some boring but necessary improvements such as getting a new shed, getting rid of the old one, having a new fence installed and starting with the fight against the ivy and bramble; this year we put up a small pergola, created some corners for eating/chilling, and improved the planting.

I'd love to post a picture of my ongoing struggles and fleeting successes (currently fighting snails like a snail ninja) - but I am not sure how? I am using the desktop version fo the website - maybe i need to download the app and do it on the phone? I'll try to find out and I'll be back v

AnneKipankitoo · 05/08/2021 12:17

@Suzysunflower , it is the little paper clip at the bottom of the bit where you post .
On the app you are allowed 3 photos per day . I think it is 20 with the desktop version

Welcome 🙏🏼 💐
