They are lovely @Grandadwasthatyou👍🏻💕

Sweetpea1532 · 26/07/2021 22:12

Bees on your new property @catwithflowers! It just keeps getting better and better..your own fresh honey! Isn't it funny how God had a better plan for you! And when He plans something He goes all out and no holds barred....what are you going to discover next about new property...that it has a GOLD mine in the garden and oil also!Grin
@WobblyLondoner lol! I read previous as precious anyway...hummm, sounds like the recent vacation-vaccination thread, huh, AK?
If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it for some amazing insight into human natureGrin
@LysistrataVickers..your little meadow corner is darling! Thanks for sharing!
Ok, @ElaborateSalad you know we are all to curious to let you get away with deleting your postGrin

We live in a deprived area covered in fly-tipping and our garden is the size of a postage stamp. It's a beautiful oasis though. I'm rather proud of the tiny haven we've created.

@PolytheneRam

You've a right to be proud...what a place of beauty you've created! Thanks for sharing and for taking a trashy area on the earth and turning it into a masterful display..you are quite talented...I think your flowers are enjoying classing up the deprived area... who knows what influence your small garden will have on the neighbourhood...so interesting how animals and the wind can spread seeds around...you just never know!Flowers

Sweetpea1532 · 26/07/2021 22:43

@PolytheneRam

You might give it a helping hand by tossing a few seeds over your fence and emulate nature on a walk and throw out some, tooGrin

PolytheneRam · 26/07/2021 22:44

Thank you for such a lovely response. I was a little nervous about posting

catwithflowers · 27/07/2021 04:22

@PolytheneRam that's so lovely! Well done on your beautiful haven. You have every right to be proud of your hardwork 😊

@Sweetpea1532. Hehe, I'm hoping you are right! He works in mysterious ways 😂 (though a gold mine or oil is a little greedy! I would settle for good soil 😀)

catwithflowers · 27/07/2021 04:27

Gosh those baskets are very pretty Grandad. The flowers look like they are in such good condition. Are you watering twice a day at the minute?

Sweetpea1532 · 27/07/2021 05:47

@PolytheneRam
I'm so glad you were brave enough to post...this thread is a lot of fun! The OP started the original thread awhile back and this is the 5th one. OP is very kind and has a great sense of humour...we all love everyone ❤
And any flowers or garden related things are very welcome..we've had wild animals that have visited our gardens and various insects, too. We talk about our weather, etc. Several posters are from various places spread around the UK, but we have others in mainland Europe, and I'm in California..so our gardens are each different...we tend to love hydrangeas and sweetpeas especially purples...@beautyisfoundwithin is our sweetpea queen for this year, but several other pp grow beautiful sweetpeas too.
I've learned so much about different plants on this thread...
Welcome to the gangFlowers

Sweetpea1532 · 27/07/2021 05:50

@PolytheneRam
Didn't mean to give the impression that we only like hydrangeas and sweetpeas...we love all flowers, plants, and trees.

BTW, your purple clematis is gorgeous and looks so happy on your fence!

Grandadwasthatyou · 27/07/2021 06:02

@catwithflowers ... yes first thing in the morning and then once the sun starts to go down. Feeding once a fortnight, alternating between Miraclegro and Tomorite.

AnneKipankitoo · 27/07/2021 06:59

@PolytheneRam, your little haven is gorgeous. @StrawberryFizz26, can you see what they have done with the fence?If you have time to plan something like that for your wall that would be fabulous at your spot .
I think Dorset Knob came from the WAG @Sweetpea1532.

AnneKipankitoo · 27/07/2021 07:00

Thanks @Sweetpea1532, you are very kind .

LadyEloise · 27/07/2021 07:05

@AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet
The pink rose you have forgotten the name of, is stunning.
Does any wise Mumsnet gardener know what it is please ?
The picture was posted on 3 July at 10.26am

Sweetpea1532 · 27/07/2021 07:34

Every bit is true @AnneKipankitoo ! I forgot to say how clever you are also Grin
Good ole MrsMackesy and her Dorset knob throwing contest😂

Yes, @catwithflowers..I agree with you that good rich soil would be the best blessing for your new garden...gold just sits there and oil is messyGrin

Sweetpea1532 · 27/07/2021 07:47

@LysistrataVickers
Are the little purple, pink, and maroon flowers called bachelor buttons?

Sweetpea1532 · 27/07/2021 07:53

@ImprobablePuffin
Is the Red Admiral classified as a butterfly or moth? Either way, it's gorgeous..doesn't even look real...I am loving your allium, too...it looks so healthy Flowers

AnneKipankitoo · 27/07/2021 07:56

Butterfly @Sweetpea1532!

Sweetpea1532 · 27/07/2021 07:59

Thank you @AnneKipankitoo..smarty pants 😂

LysistrataVickers · 27/07/2021 08:23

@Sweetpea1532 I believe so, yes! They're little cornflowers. Very pretty!

WobblyLondoner · 27/07/2021 09:19

Hello @PolytheneRam, welcome. I'm a latecomer to this thread (and a small garden person) too and everyone has been so welcoming. Your garden looks absolutely gorgeous. Small gardens can be frustrating (my current annoyance is how everything in mine leans in, because the boundaries are so high) but its so satisfying how much difference you can make in a short time.

beautyisfoundwithin · 27/07/2021 19:38

Wow!! I have a couple of super busy days at work and the thread is moving a mile a minute, can't believe how much I've missed!

Great photos @ImprobablePuffin! That Allium is so lovely!! Glad you're keeping the bees safe and snug too, I have a bee hotel as well 😊

You have so many gorgeous purples (as well as your pinks!) @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet.

I'm excited for you for your new garden (and the house too of course!) @catwithflowers!

Love that Mallow @WobblyLondoner! Hope your garden is all ok on your return.

How lovely @LysistrataVickers.

Absolutely stunning hanging baskets @Grandadwasthatyou 😍

Welcome to the thread @PolytheneRam! Your garden looks stunning! You certainly should be proud. I was really nervous to post the first time too, but as @Sweetpea1532 said it's a really great thread.

Thank you for the compliment @Sweetpea1532, what an honour! 😊 I am super pleased with my Sweet Peas this year but don't forget the chaos of my house full to the brim of seedlings for months to get those results! 😂 Plus I can't compete with half of the flowers on this thread, especially all of the amazing Roses.
