@Sweetpea1532 😂😂😂. I know that feeling well!!

This is the first year my husband hasn't grown runner beans! I really don't like them at all and they are so prolific!!! He's just doing French beans this year thank goodness!

catwithflowers · 26/07/2021 14:05

And sadly no, the bergamot I'm growing doesn't seem to have much of a scent at all. Maybe there are different types which are more highly scented. I'll have to investigate!

Sweetpea1532 · 26/07/2021 14:30

@catwithflowers
Runner beans?..Hahahalol..not my favourite either.
Yes, things do happen for a reason, and it sounds as if your 3rd house is going to be perfect especially with the better garden...fingers crossed!

AnneKipankitoo · 26/07/2021 15:29

♥️🐈💐

WobblyLondoner · 26/07/2021 16:09

I'm away from home so my offer today is wild flowers. Wildflower meadows seem to be everywhere - I think probably a few weeks later than normal. Utterly gorgeous.

I love the photo of Ammi Visnaga @catwithflowers - so elaborate.

Am slowly catching up on the huge thread. I can't believe the terrain you garden on @Sweetpea1532 - and I love your horsemen!!

@AnneKipankitoo 🤣
Brilliant! You clever woman!

@WobblyLondoner where on Earth have you happened upon this magical seaside meadow?! The set of 'Doc Martin'?!
Looks like something the midwives suggested as a "focal point' during natural labour so no gas nor drugs were needed...mind over matter, I supposeHmm😂
Thank you for the kind words about my mountain garden..it has been a different gardening experience...I'll pass along your appreciation for DH's 7 Horseman of the apocalypse
Grin

@applecatchers36
Another gorgeous share! Your thistle is so gigantic and PURPLE... I can imagine the little bee is ecstatic and will tell all his friends. Crocosmia...lovely colour and PINK buddleia...I've never seen it in pink. Thanks for sharing Flowers

Sweetpea1532 · 26/07/2021 17:50

@applecatchers36
What is that little mound of adorable yellow flowers under the crocosmia?

Sweetpea1532 · 26/07/2021 18:01

I hope everyone is doing alright with all the worldwide flooding! It's even raining her in South California...a strange occurance for July, for sure....it causes flash flooding in the desert...odd phenomenon...where is is a beautiful sunny day and all of a sudden a deluge of swiftly moving water comes barrelling through where there was no water in sight a second before and no rivers or lakes anywhere.
I've checked the radar map for the globe and the there was rain the world around...I have NEVER seen anything like it...very strange indeed. Keep safe all!

AnneKipankitoo · 26/07/2021 18:10

You too @Sweetpea1532!

AnneKipankitoo · 26/07/2021 18:11

🍬🥦, no peas.

Sweetpea1532 · 26/07/2021 18:39

😂... 🍧🍨🍩🎂🍰🧁🥧🍫🍹, yes peas!

WobblyLondoner · 26/07/2021 18:53

I'm in Dorset, south west England @Sweetpea1532. First time in ages and it is pretty idyllic. Gorgeous flowers everywhere, and so many butterflies. Hot and sunny today, swam in the actual sea (not something I do much). We escaped the torrential rain but my poor garden in London has been battered I hear - roads turned into rivers etc (glad my road is a slight hill, with us midway).

Have some gorgeous flower pics but Mumsnet bring very glitchy when it comes to posting them.

WobblyLondoner · 26/07/2021 18:56

A ha, cracked it (answer: don’t use the app). Look at these beauties. The first I assume is a mallow - growing in a wall. Love the little flash of green in the petal.

@WobblyLondoner...glad yours is on a little rise...haven't spoken to my London friend..she's RIGHT on the River Thames...luckily her flat is on the 3rd floor so only her car might be affected.

You are brave to swim in the sea! I'm a scaredy cat!Grin

applecatchers36 · 26/07/2021 19:44

Dorset wildflowers look lovely Wobbly & hope that your garden survived the flooding & is in reasonable shape on your return

Sweetpea they are Feverfew a type of Daisy I think, very prolific

catwithflowers · 26/07/2021 19:47

@WobblyLondoner so sorry to hear your garden has taken a battering 🙈. We are in North East England and have escaped any flooding so far. In fact it hasn't rained for ages and I'm watering the garden every other day which is quite unusual for us. I hope things aren't as bad as you fear when you get home. Your wild photos are lovely! Yours too @applecatchers36. Amazing colours ♥️

Anne and everyone else, thanks so much for your crossed fingers and good wishes. We think it will be at least October when we move but I'll have all that extra time to plan the new garden 😍🌱🌹🐝. I put the bee at the end there because the new garden actually has a bee hive which I'm assuming will stay! We will have to take lessons in bee keeping!!! I know it's not easy!

AnneKipankitoo · 26/07/2021 20:28

So have you had a Dorset Knob @WobblyLondoner?

AnneKipankitoo · 26/07/2021 20:30

Sorry to hear about the ghastly weather! Hope your garden and everything is safe!

Thanks all, I am a bit nervous about my garden - the last thing I did before leaving was lug my two previous pots of dahlias onto drip trays and fill them with water Hmm

I shall look out for a Dorset knob (a hard dry biscuit I read!).

WobblyLondoner · 26/07/2021 20:39

Gar, precious pots not previous (though they might be by the time I get back!).

LysistrataVickers · 26/07/2021 20:47

My little meadow corner in the garden. Was the devils own job to stop DH from pulling them up before they flowered because he insisted they were weeds even though I repeatedly told him I sowed them

We only found out what that was recently. Well done @WobblyLondoner!
Hope the pots are fine .

LysistrataVickers · 26/07/2021 20:49

Also, a previous grass verge around the corner from me. The council have planted a few with meadow flowers.
