Lovely combination @AnneKipanki. That's my favourite colour of Petunia.

Stunning @CheerfulBunny! Mine smell incredible too, I just love the smell of Lilies! Not everyone does apparently which really surprises me.

AnneKipanki · 22/07/2021 21:25

Lovely flowers @CheerfulBunny.

@applecatchers36 The bulbs were advertised as 'Massive Tree Lillies!' I am such a sucker I fell for the pictures of toddlers cowering under triffid-like blooms. OK, the ad was a bit of an exaggeration but they are pretty big, much bigger than my hand but definitely not like trees! Grin
I keep getting wafts in through the open patio doors @beautyisfoundwithin I adore it, it's so heady. I've got a big bunch of dark crimson oriental lilies in a vase as well so no air freshner needed in the Cheerful household.

@Sweetpea1532 Moving to a larger garden which is very lovely and very well stocked. But will still be taking lots of cuttings and a few roses with us 😉 🌱

What is that you are holding @Sweetpea1532?
It looks like a seaweed garland.

I love this verbena, which I have growing in a container. It's doing well although it's a bit floppy, but the flowers are lovely.

@AnneKipanki
Well your guess was as good as any, I suppose..😂.it's actually
"The Magnificent Seven"... cowboy flat ironwork of 7 Cowboys that DH dragged home from a boot sale...as my garden was already bordering on tacky, I decided to climb up my back 'mountain' and display it...it can probably be seen from space..but it definitely can be seen by motorists who look up and over the house...
I had to drill rebar rods into the earth to secure it all the while hanging on by my toenails...it's been there 10 years already so hope it's become a permanent fixture...I've aged a bit in those 10 years, so I will not be climbing up to retrieve it.Grin

Your flowers are brilliant! So unusual and colourful
@Girliefriendlikespuppies..yours are stunning, too. Is the purple a wallflower?

AnneKipanki · 23/07/2021 22:56

Thank you....it's been very interesting trying to make a garden out of rock-hard clay on vertical slopes...I've been able to practice my rock climbing skills with a rope and rubber bottom trainers to get around. Those slopes by the Cowboys are so friable and fragile...large pieces can just sheer right off...I was shocked the first time I climbed up...I'd previously thought it was solid rockShock

SuziLikeSuziQ · 24/07/2021 09:37

My black-eyed Susans. Probably my best blooms at the moment!

I posted on this thread over a year ago for advice (I had bought a DA rose - Thomas á Becket) and you were all great. I have lurked since and love all your gardens (and cowboys and pets!) Smile

I wanted to come back and say thank you as my rose has been looking lovely this year - albeit hammered by the rain! I have also grown two big hydrangeas, have planted apple and pear trees Grin and am attempting to grow ivy along my trellis fence.

I love watering my plants and seeing them grow. I might have to change my name! Thank you Smile

Although my hydrangeas have come back as white this year when they were pink last year (they're in the same soil!) which is very much confusing me ConfusedGrin but actually they look nice next to the rose so I'm not complaining!!

AnneKipanki · 24/07/2021 10:21

Pleased to see you and your rose @IKillMyPlantsToDeath.

@SuziLikeSuziQ I love your black eyed Susan vines..they are doing so well...I've never seen yellow and white varieties..only orange....
Yes @IKillMyPlantsToDeath...it is time for a name change..That rose is gorgeous...good job! And white hydrangeas are so lovely and fresh looking.Flowers

beautyisfoundwithin · 24/07/2021 17:39

Sounds heavenly @CheerfulBunny, it's funny because I fell for the same pictures last year! 😂 The blooms were pretty big but the plant itself only grew to about 30cm high max!! 😂 it hasn't bloomed yet this year but it's certainly not grown any taller...

Lovely photos @Girliefriendlikespuppies, so bright and cheerful.

You certainly are part mountain goat 🐐 @Sweetpea1532! And wow, what a stunning photo! You have an incredibly beautiful garden ❤️

Great Sunflowers @APurpleSquirrel! I've tried a few different varieties this year too but none have flowered yet.

That's really great to hear @IKillMyPlantsToDeath! 😊

I've just got home from work, I'm going to have a wander around the garden to see if there's anything worth a photo. Happy weekend everyone 🍷
