I've got my back door open and as I do every year I've planted a lot of stocks in pots right outside.

I actually make a happy noise every time a whiff blows in.

Close joint second are the smells of the basil and mint

Honeysuckle. I went down the bottom of my garden yesterday evening and the smell was amazing. It is sheltered down there, and the scent seems to collect in that part of the garden. Lovely.

Daphne. I love it. Mine is winter flowering (are all of them?) and I make myself go in the garden to smell it as I would miss it otherwise.

MadMadMadamMim · 30/05/2021 18:42

I like the honeysuckle and the lavender.

Also like mint, basil and rosemary.

PyjamaFan · 30/05/2021 18:43

Honeysuckle, lilac, jasmine, lavender, rosemary.

SBAM · 30/05/2021 18:44

Lilacs, mock orange, roses and any of my herbs. This has made me realise all my favourite plants are scented Grin

Catslovepies · 30/05/2021 18:44

Lilacs and roses

HeyMicky · 30/05/2021 18:46

Second stocks. I have several varieties and they are so delightful

Manzana · 30/05/2021 18:47

Pittosporum, honeysuckle, musk roses, lilac, star jasmine

custardbear · 30/05/2021 18:49

Jasmine and roses

CheerfulBunny · 30/05/2021 18:53

Honeysuckle. It reminds me of being a kid, running around in the garden in and out of the paddling pool and trying to stay up as late as possible in the summer evenings Smile

Igneococcus · 30/05/2021 18:56

Apple blossom

dodobookends · 30/05/2021 19:00

Jonquils and lily of the valley.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/05/2021 19:04

You can't possibly expect us to choose just one!Grin
At the moment, the clematis Montana is gorgeous - soft vanilla.

In winter, sweet box.
Summer - sweet peas and honeysuckle . stargazer lilies - I have a couple of pots which I move beside the front door when they're blooming.

MilduraS · 30/05/2021 19:04

Lily of the valley for me but I can't have it as I have cats Sad Close contenders are star jasmine and old roses.

ichundich · 30/05/2021 19:05

Lavender, fruit tree blossom, roses, lemon balm, lilac, also freshly cut grass!

Waitwhat23 · 30/05/2021 19:13

Night scented stock, lavender, honeysuckle, flowering blackcurrant, the smell of wet tomato plants, pine, box and roses.

Waitwhat23 · 30/05/2021 19:13

Ooh, and sweet peas.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/05/2021 19:13

Midura I was going to dig up some Lily of the Valley from my Mum's garden to plant in mine but I forgot !
Just as well , I have 2 cats and didn't think about the toxicity .

I don't have lilies now - used to have Stargazer - because of the felines .

rosegoldwatcher · 30/05/2021 19:58

I have a Edelweiss lavender in a pot. It smells divine when you stroke the leaves.

Next door have a summer jasmine that I can smell from my bedroom; I am very envious of it. My star jasmine does not do well!

ThursdayLastWeek · 30/05/2021 20:18

On a whim last year I bought a nemesia that smells like vanilla.

I bought two more this year, very much premeditated!

I can’t wait for the sweet peas to flower, and to remember to buy compost so I can sow the night scented stock seeds i purchased recently!

dementedma · 30/05/2021 20:21

Honeysuckle
Sweet peas
Jasmine

Cowbells · 30/05/2021 20:32

Daphne is gorgeous, nicotiana, night scented stocks, lavender, jasmine and a nemesia which smells of vanilla and honey. Used to have it by the front door and it smelled like we'd been baking every day.
