Just a little fourward planning . We are all looking forward to another thread of fabulous pictures. It can be a quiet time but I am sure some of us will have autumnal colours to share . The trees are starting to turn here . I have just picked an allium from my photo collection to start the thread off .
You are very welcome to finish or visit the old thread . I do not know how to do ... this is the old thread here thing .

Beautiful @waltzingparrot and @Sweetpea1532. I was in the garden yesterday planting out troughs with pansies .
It was pretty cold . The berries on our holly are bright balls of red just now . I will try and post a pic later ( if the flash mob of birds have not devoured them ) 😂

When I was in the southern part of the US last week I found that my mum's azaleas were blooming for the 2nd time this year....they have bloomed once a year for 2 weeks in the Spring for over 40 years..
2020 has been a very unusual year not only for humans but also for the plant world...our friends have a veg garden and they've told us that strange things are going on with their veggies, also.
Attached photos of azaleas in bloom last week( Nov 3) in the Southern US. And a water hydrangea, that's not planted in water but near the septic tank. Strange indeed.

@AnneKipanki
Your Holly Bush is by far the nicest one I've ever seen! I love the way you've trimmed it, also.
I've never seen so many berries on a branch and even after you said the mob of birds have been using it as their personal smorgasbord.
Thanks for sharing Smile

AnneKipanki · 15/11/2020 07:22

It is very good this year. It can be stripped of berries in a day .

Most of the berries are gone now.

Oh my goodness! Those little birdies aren't going to be able to get off the ground after eating almost all of your berries....I guess they put the word out to their friends again this year......
" There are delicious plump red berries on offer at Anne's restaurant...hurry on over and get them while they last"
Your little trough plantings are so sweet...are they pansies or violas? Here I've had much better luck with violas...its just too warm for pansies...I'm always amazed when I go to a colder area and the pansies are proudly poking their heads out even if there is snow on the ground.
Attached please find photos of a hibiscus bush I saw at the shops carpark today that decided to produce an abundance of beautiful soft yellow flowers whilst its 50 other neighbours had not a single blossom

LOL, Anne!
I guess we are the only 2 diehards left on this thread...keep posting though if you have time...I am really enjoying seeing the colour from your part of the planet. I can't remember, did you say you've planted bulbs this year or do you just leave the ones from past years in the ground? I tried blubs one year but was told at the end of the season that I'd need to dig all 200 of them up and store in the fridge or freezer so they could winter in the cold...ha!.too much work for me!

Sweetpea1532 · 18/11/2020 18:34

@AnneKipanki
Just noticed your beautiful green moss covered rocks...very lovely!

Sweetpea1532 · 18/11/2020 18:39

@waltzingparrot
I see you are hanging in here, too.
What a beautiful clematis that decided to wait and surprise you with an extra blooming this late in the year. Thank you for sharing!

beautyisfoundwithin · 18/11/2020 19:21

I noticed some new posts here the other day and then totally got distracted by something else and forgot to join in! Love the idea of keeping this thread going through winter if we can manage it!

I don't have much going on in my garden at the moment, but we've been very lucky to have some beautiful blue skies for a while now which is lovely.

Also adding a couple of pictures of something that seems to have sprung up out of nowhere at the back of my garden (well, I've certainly never noticed it before anyway!). I don't know what it is but the colour is gorgeous 🍁

Lovely pictures @Sweetpea1532! Your new cactus garden is gorgeous!! 😍

Beautiful holly bush @AnneKipanki! Can't believe how quickly the berries were all gobbled up!

Sweetpea1532 · 18/11/2020 19:34

@beautyisfoundwithin
Thank you! Yes, I'll keep posting if you will...maybe we'll spur others on and they'll notice colours in their gardens that haven't been noticed before.
Thank you for sharing your new found bushes and blue skies.
The mixture of colours are so intriguing...all my favourites for a garden....so funny as to how it's just appeared. I see tall hills in your sky photos....are you in the UK?

Sweetpea1532 · 18/11/2020 19:37

I hope someone on this thread can come up with the name of your colourful bush, Beauty! I adore it...it almost doesn't look real!

beautyisfoundwithin · 18/11/2020 19:58

I agree, it almost doesn't look real! I was so excited when I first noticed it! I've been trying to grow some Boston Ivy cuttings for the same area (with not much luck) as I wanted that kind of colour, so very pleased with this new bush!

No I'm not in the UK, I'm in the south of Germany, right on the border with Austria, in the Bavarian Alps, so I'm lucky to be right in the mountains 😊

AnneKipanki · 18/11/2020 20:22

I don't know the name of your Bush @beautyisfoundwithin .
Gorgeous blue skies in your photo too .
It has been wet and very windy here . The flowers are pansies @Sweetpea1532 . We do have a lot of moss.
We were thinking of having a Japanese area out there.
We don't have many bulbs . Generally we don't do a lot in the winter with the garden as it is dark when we leave and return during the winter months. Although Covid 19 has altered that slightly. The troughs are new ... because of that .
Beautiful hibiscus flowers @Sweetpea1532 .

The birds arrive in a mob .

Flatpackback · 18/11/2020 22:40

The birds have deserted my garden even though the feeders are full, seeds, suet balls & mealworm on offer. I wonder if it’s because there’s fresh berries around that they prefer. I usually have to top up every other day but I’ve not seen any out there this week at all.

Sweetpea1532 · 19/11/2020 02:22

@beautyisfoundwithin.
Ahhh, that explains those beautiful hills...I have visited your area many times and it is one of my favourite places to go. @AnneKipanki..I really like your new troughs with the pansies. I have a bit of garden that has a Japanese theme...it is very calming to me to look at...I have a little concrete pagoda in there also.
@Flatpackback.
Where on Earth have your birds gone...they usually love to dine on what you are offering and especially at this time of year...maybe they are all over @ AnneKipanki s holly bush

What is the purple flower?
Thanks for sharing...it looks little a bit of summer blooming in your garden!
Are you living in a warm part of the world?
