Yes! That's incredibly lovely.

AnneKipanki · 16/08/2020 17:11

Thanks very much . H can’t remember the name but it grows to about 4 to 5 feet and 3.5 across . We saw it at Crathes Castle Garden ( Aberdeenshire) and Malleny Garden near a Edinburgh.
There is Geranium psilostemon ( formerly G. armenum) Height 90 to 120 cm , spread 90 cm .
I think you can get similar smaller ones G. Patricia ‘Bermpat’ 70 cm by 45 cm .
perryhillnurseries.co.uk.
You might be able to get smaller one at a good local garden centre,
We have not seen the large one in stock since we bought it .

Thank you very much for all that info, and the photo! I will try to track it (and the closest thing) down. I see a flash of it every time the thread loads and I need it!Smile

A smidge of sad news! It has been so hot here in California that even my almost 3 meter tall cactus has croaked. It has been growing for 11 years from a half meter cutting 😭

All the colourful flower photos have cheered me right up, though...and I will plant the broken arm in another spot.

AnneKipanki · 17/08/2020 08:20

That is steep banking @Sweetpea1532 . I love your garden accessories.

Poor cactus Sad.
Not so sunny here, it's poured with rain the last few days but the sunflowers are coming along nicely and cheering up the place.

So lovely, @drWanker!

Some of my mallows / annual lavatera have decided to climb up into the rowan tree!

Oh no sweetpea 😟 I hope you manage to nurse the broken arm into a lovely new one 🌵
Do any of know much about caterpillars and butterflies? I came a cross this one in the garden earlier today and am interested to know what it is and would like to be able to research about the kind of habitat they live in so it will be happy in my garden 🙂

That is a very Christmassy combo there @DDemelza!

AnneKipanki · 18/08/2020 08:05

That is an interesting caterpillar @popgoesperfection .

There was a feature on our news about the heat in California Shock I couldn't help but feel sad for your cactus @Sweetpea1532
Your pictures are incredible.

Very unusual but no idea, sorry @popgoesperfection

That's a stunning picture and yes it does look Christmassy @DDemelza

Here's GJ today.

Thanks @AnneKipanki! Someone told me my garden is eclectic!!! Have to think what they were trying to say nicely was it's a bit tackyGrin....but i live in an old hippy colony....so anything goes here!
Thanks, Dr, Pop,Anne and Always for your condolences about my cactus...just praying I will have a successful transplant.
Yes, Always.....so hot...hottest Aug since 2006. Trouble is we have no air conditioning so inside our home it can reach over 37° C...hard to complain though since this is definitely a first world problem...plus as you can see from my photo my passionfruit just loves the heat! I cut it back all the way to the main stalk in June and it has tonnes of fruit already...i can go hide under its refreshing shade if i get too overheated .
Keep those lovely photos coming everyone.....all the beautiful flowers have dried up to a crisp hereSad

🤣........the heat has even made the gophers lazy...
They usually dig deep holes, but found thier recent contributions above my large cactus....just made Swiss cheese looking holes instead.... their show of disapproval to me watering the slope for one hour yesterday ...you'd think they would have appreciated a bit of a sprinkleGrin

No pleasing some gophers, is there? That's wonderful. I have a passionflower plant but it's a lot less convincing than that. 😁

Nothing much new here. Have some hollyhocks sown in June for flowering next year NOW in full bud. They seem completely confused by the weather.

Stunning pic @DDemelza

I'm on hol in Wales at the mo, and it is so lush here. There's snapdragons in many colours, honeysuckle, numerous wildflowers growing wild through the banks, path edges and hedgerows. There's samphire in flower on the rocks and pinks. Lots and lots of beautiful flowers I don't know the names of. Heather and gorse flowering on the cliffs, and dramatic rock formations.

I present a lovely rose in the garden of the house we're in, a pretty moth that landed on my bedroom floor, and an artful creation authored by the sea in a beach cliff face - slate with pebbles. Grin

Oh no, that is sad news @Sweetpea1532! What a shame. Fingers crossed that the replanted arm will be a success🤞🏼

Gorgeous roses @DDemelza & @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet!

I have no idea what type it might be @popgoesperfection but it's an impressive caterpillar!

I love that rock formation @BewareTheBeardedDragon, I love when you see such artful things created by nature. Hope you're having a lovely holiday!

Today I'm sharing some of my hanging Begonias. The first one I planted in an old milk pail, it's got lovely full flowers and I'm also enjoying the colour contrast between the foliage, buds, and blooms.

And the second was supposed to be the same type but I guess a sweet little yellow one snuck into the bag!

It’s the first time I’ve had them so I didn’t know what to expect, but they had them in Lidl for €1.99 for a pack of 5 tubers and I couldn’t resist! 😁

What a bargain @beautyisfoundwithin and so pretty !!
@BewareTheBeardedDragon it sounds beautiful where you are !! And what a wonderful art made by the sea !!
@DDemelza rose envy here !!
I think we have discovered what type of caterpillar it is, we think it may be a red admiral.

And some super hot (allegedly!) chilli peppers 🌶 and some scrummy French beans. Haven't tried the chillis yet but they are supposed to be hotter than Scotch Bonnet 🥵
