@Morley19 gorgeous - well done! Is the river behind the green at the end of that view?

@catwithflowers the hens look so beautiful but that does sound very difficult. It's what puts me off the idea of having any

@Crosswithlifeatm great pic

NoImNotEntertained · 30/07/2020 07:55

Oh, may I join? So many beautiful pictures I need to get my notepad out to take details of all the stunning flowers and plants on here. Lots of inspiration!
Love my lillies & roses at the moment!

@Morley19 wow that's an amazing transformation.

Loving everyone's flowers.

I have some annual leave now (supposed to be at the seaside 😓 so I will be in full gardening mode)
My first cosmos flower and I don't know what the other 2 are.

What a transformation @Morley19 gorgeous !
@catwithflowers I couldn't decide about getting a couple of chickens for the garden, I think you've made my mind up as beautiful as they are.
That pic looks idillic @AnneKipanki.

Rookiegardener · 30/07/2020 10:42

Lovely colour against the leaves @Rookiegardener . Thanks @popgoesperfection .

Those Dahlias might be the loveliest ever, Rookie (but then I have a weakness for yellow things). Do you happen to know the variety?

Phineasthegreat · 30/07/2020 11:46

Lovely colour on those Dahlias, Rookie. Those pink lilies are beautiful Nolm, I really feel that I need more lilies in my life (and garden) thanks to this thread

Phineasthegreat · 30/07/2020 11:49

Today I have some agapanthus and a fushia

Thanks AnneKipanki. @DDemelza these are called Yellow Hammer. I saw them at a nursery and couldn't refuse the dark leaves against the yellow.

DDemelza · 30/07/2020 14:43

They're exquisite and I shall look for them! (Not being patronising, but since your username is rookie, you know to lift the dahlia tubers and overwinter them inside away from the frost, right? My neighbour didn't know and lost £60 worth of dahlias, apparently.Sad)

Just sitting on the garden bench under the rowan tree ignoring the weeding that needs doing.😁

@NoImNotEntertained I love the striped rose! Do you know which variety it is?

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 30/07/2020 15:29

@ditavonteesed love the red flowers - is like to know what they are.

Beautiful view @AnneKipanki

@Rookiegardener beautiful flower and lovely contrast with the foliage (love that about dahlias)

Lovely colours @Phineasthegreat

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 30/07/2020 15:30

@DDemelza ignoring weeding is a daily activity around here Wink

NoImNotEntertained · 30/07/2020 15:31

@Phineasthegreat the lillies were actually in a shared pot with something else and then I uprooted them and moved the bulbs into their own pot. They have grown so much taller and flowered so much more beautifully this year that I wish I'd taken better care of them from the start! Wish the flowers lasted all summer.

But they are really hardy and come up every year, rain or shine.

NoImNotEntertained · 30/07/2020 15:33

@BewareTheBeardedDragon it's an Henri Matisse rose if I remember correctly. I was desperate to do some planting but all the garden centres were shut so I found a lady on eBay. They arrived in superb condition and have been lovely! I can send you her details if you like. Smile

Beebumble2 · 30/07/2020 15:52

ditavonteesed the red flower is a type of pendulous begonia and the yellow one is Golden Rod.

I’ve let my Endive run to seed just to see what the flowers are like. Hers a photo, who knew they be so pretty!
