Here are some of my current blooms from around my garden; Cistus, Hydrangea and Mallows, all pink Smile

I went to the garden centre again 🙈

I want to plant, but it's suddenly pouring rain. At least it will soften the ground.

Osteospermum, cosmos and roses Smile

@BobTheDuvet I checked and I see one flower bud on my Japanese Anemome Smile

Finally one of my hollyhocks is about to flower & it's black. It's been such a long wait!

It looks like geranium to me @Killybashangel

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 11/07/2019 13:48

I planted my new flowers.
Isn't is such a shame that cosmos are annuals Sad
The Osteospermums closed last night. I think it's incredible, that they do that

Btw, for those who were asking about Roses; the staff in the garden centre recommended 'carpet roses' as the easiest. They are not prone to disease and require little care.

@buckeejit I have never seen a black flower. It's rather unusual Shock

Yey! Pics thread 😁

We tarted the garden project back in April. First pic is ‘then’ second is ‘now’! More to do but some lovely things coming together.

Third pic is my ‘hot’ bed. It needs more and a climber or two but is getting there.

Crikeyblimey that's impressive progress. You've got a nice open site there, unlike me. I think you could do with a tree or two for height and structure...not to mention privacy. Don't ask me which though - most of ours arrived uninvited eg silver birch, rowan, hawthorn and I wage war against ash. I tend to covet nice fruit and ornamentals in garden centres.

@BobTheDuvet Do they last through the autumn, the Japanese Anemone?
I planted mine for September & October colour, so I don't necessarily want them to bloom in July!

Hello, from my new gardening companion Smile

Has your little helper got a name, @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet ?

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 11/07/2019 21:59

@AnneKipanki Yes, her name is Ava. I put my son's name (begins with 'A') and my daughter's name (ends in 'va') together Grin

Thank you @BobTheDuvet
I hope I'm as lucky as you are, with the Japanese Anemone Smile

My Salix is looking lush. I gave it quite a major cutting back earlier this year as it had got out of shape and lost a lot of the variation.
