Here are my lovely allium against an eriysimum background. The allium were grown from bulbs by my mum and have such sentimental value it's so lovely to see them open up.

Lovely flowers @Miaowse It’s so nice when all the colours come back around this time of the year ☺️

I’m loving your allium @DeanImpala67 I regularly think I should plant more of those but somehow always forget when it’s allium planting time 🙃

Here’s one of my Alliums and a new rose, as in one that’s opened up this week. It’s a bit disease-sensitive, but the smell is so gorgeous l don’t have the heart to replace it with anything else

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 08/05/2020 14:11

So many lovely pictures Smile I think you're all a couple of weeks ahead of me with roses and alliums

Yes, of course we will have a second thread, once we have filled this one with a thousand pictures Grin

I don't know how many plants or pots I will have this year . It is not looking good .

AnneKipanki · 08/05/2020 15:30

Beautiful @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet

Crazzzycat · 08/05/2020 17:12

Lovely pot @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet

Here’s one of mine, with my first scabiosa flower of the year. It’s one of my favourite flowers, but it’s not a plant that does well in my garden. It’s pretty happy in a pot though so I still get to enjoy it ☺️

It's beautiful Smile
Here's another of mine (bought). I know it's probably way too early -our temps are going to dip at night next week, but I can bring them inside . I've pots of cosmos too.

Fingers crossed Anne 🌷

Lovely pot! I’m a bit jealous of your cosmos @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to find some this year 🤞

This was my old house. Taken from the kitchen window. I miss that view!!

That was stunning BertiesLanding I love the colour

Anne (tags not working) I read your reply on the cottage garden thread. I've bought and planted the following - purple wallflowers, Peonies, delphiniums, tall white Campanulas/bellflowers (the garden centre recommended them and it's about to bloom), Salvia. Still no shrubs Blush
I will listen out for Borris' speech and hope that he will announce the opening of garden centres for you all very soon Smile Ours are beginning to reopen, but thankfully there was one who took orders via phone.

Here's a rhododendron I planted a few months ago. I love when plants bloom in their first year Smile
Roses look ready to bloom, and alliums yet to, but already the same height as me !

Beautiful @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet and @BertiesLanding .
Heard on the radio that it might be one week for England's garden centres. ( it might be the same for Scotland)
There is a garden centre taking phone orders but it is really hard to get through and they reach capacity very quickly.
I look on their Facebook every day.

BertiesLanding · 09/05/2020 13:08

Oooh, alliums! Something for me to get, I think :)

Hagisonthehill · 09/05/2020 13:19

I have a tiny garden this is now,in a month the wall and fense will be covered in roses and a vine. The other side of the garden is mostly green at the moment, just a bit behind as less sun.Its a lovely sight with wine in hand a bit later.

Your garden sounds absolutely lovely @Hagisonthehill What’s the purple plant that’s growing on your wall?

I’ve spotted my first foxglove of the year. It’s in a super messy part of my garden, so don’t mind the background 🙈 It’s all work in progress

Here when I bought the house one of only 5 plants growing on builders rubble and 'soil 'that supported brick factories in the past.
The flower is bigger than an aubretia and is evergreen.

Now now @Crazzzycat there is no such thing as a messy garden! I prefer to call it a 'wildlife friendly area', or you could refer to yourself as an organic Gardner Grin That's how I justify all the nettles in mine - vital for butterflies Wink ditto many other weeds

So many lovely pictures. Isn't May just beautiful Smile

Ha ha, very true @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet ! Speaking of wildlife, yesterday I discovered that we have bats roosting in the garden! I’d seen them fly around before, but didn’t realise they had actually made the garden their home ☺️

Anyway, back to the pretty pictures. I have no idea what that plant is @Hagisonthehill but it looks great. Half of my garden is full of builders rubble so I’ve developed a real love for ultra tough plants 😁

Those irises look amazing @BobTheDuvet Do you grow them in the ground, or in a pot?

Here’s some more photos from my garden. Yet another rose and a clematis. I grow these two next to each other, but this is the first time I’ve seen both of them in flower. In previous years the slugs have totally annihilated the clematis buds before they had a chance to open

That's lovely @Crazzzycat I adore birds and wildlife in the garden

Beautiful pictures Smile

The extra 'r' in Boris's name was a typo, but I hope phase 1 includes gardening centres.
I'm going to try and get a pink Viburnum @AnneKipankwhen ours are open. It can be my one and only shrub I buy this year. I have a young white/cream one beginning to bloom (Japanese snowball). You have lovely shrubs
