The hills are fantastic, they look like the Westmorland ones, as seen from the M6 near TBay.

AnneKipanki · 15/04/2020 11:22

You might like a Viburnum Carlesi. Nice delicate pink and scented @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet

Hopefully, picture will attach

That is beautiful. It looks a bit like a Hydrangea. The garden centres are closed, but taking orders.
I need more shrubs & less flowers!

Grin I suppose it does ....

Always, we've got a viburnum carlesii Aurora and I can testify that the scent of those flowers is intoxicating. The foliage goes a beautiful colour in autumn too.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 15/04/2020 19:14

It's added to my list Smile

Here are the ice cream tulips just now. I don't think they're going to get much better than this? And we've had frosts all this week

Love this thread. Finally got some flowers to share. Clematis, wallflower and nemesia all looking lovely here. Very pleased the nemesia came back through the mild winter, I've had to treat them as annuals before so it was a nice surprise, especially as I can't go and buy things to fill gaps at the moment until garden centres reopen.

And lilac almost ready. Very leggy African daisy clung on all winter and has a few blooms.

Love this post. I have back garden fence 3 panels wide. The garden is north facing but gets full sun from 1pm. I'm looking for plants in pots to break the fence up. No chance of climbers hubby doesn't want anything attached to fence. I would like evergreens if possible

Lovely pictures. I recognise the purple wallflower as 'Bowles Mauve'? I planted a row of it just recently.
The icecream tulips have opened up a little bit more.
HappyShoes Maybe start a separate thread and somebody might advise you? I have no idea 🙈

It is a shrub . Lovely autumn colour. Nice catkins too .

Taytocrisps · 26/04/2020 15:05

I've just discovered this thread and it's only a few pages off being full. I'll be back shortly to admire all your beautiful shrubs and plants.

@Happyshoes look up hebe shrubs. They're evergreens and the smaller ones would do well in containers - google Pink Candy or Rhubard & Custard varieties. You could also fill some containers with flowering perennials or annuals. Or fill some with daffodil or tuilip bulbs for spring colour but autumn is the best time for planting these bulbs. I don't know if your local garden centres are open (they're closed in Ireland) but have a browse on some garden websites for inspiration. The best websites give lots of information about the plants - whether they like full sun or shade, their uses, planting instructions etc. In particular, check the final height and spread of the plants - a tape measure is invaluable. Appearances can be deceptive - that tiny plant could grow huge - vertically or horizontally.

I'm back for a nose at your beautiful blooms and patios. It was lovely watching the progress of the month through your flowers - from hellebores and tulips to magnolias and daisies.

@AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet your ice cream tulips and magnolias deserve a special mention. I never knew ice cream tulip envy was a thing Smile.

@Icequeen01 I'm really impressed with your garden makeover. Very good timing!

@AnneKipanki glad you got your Taytos Grin.
