Wow, how lucky you are, @onalongsabbatical It's a beauty. And I like to let things run wild also! Grin

Beautiful pictures. I'm going to sit down with a glass of wine very soon, and look at them in more detail Smile

I might join you in that glass of wine!
I have to confess the reason all of mine are close ups is because the garden itself it teeny-weeny. I just stuff it with plants!
Bit like the house, which is stuffed with books...

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 06/07/2019 19:40

Cheers! GrinWine

Yes, I love to stuff with plants too Did we just become best friends? Grin
I am addicted to buying plants Blush

This is the last thing I bought. It's yet another Hydrangea

I love it. And as for the weeds etc, they're important for wildlife; bees, etc Grin

Ooh, love seeing other folks gardens. I have no gardening friends IRL so this is a treat. Here's front, back & a basket of mine. Been pottering most of today about the garden & for the first time in ages I don't think I have anything to plant out-apart from a couple of geraniums 😬

Have absolutely loved looking at all these pics of your lovely gardens, especially the little courtyard gardens.

I've got a big back garden, but a couple of years ago we stayed in this gorgeous holiday cottage and it had the tiniest courtyard garden. At first we were really disappointed at how small it was, but over the week I grew to love it

Really tiny, just a little wrought iron table and chairs, but it was so lovely to get home at the end of a day's touring around and sit out enjoying the evening sun with a glass of wine. Pic attached

I would quite happily downsize to a little courtyard.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet my "garden" was dominated by a mahoosive shed with no greenery at all when we moved in five years ago. I'm lucky that my DH is very handy at DIY. We sold the shed and he built another at one end of the yard, put down a deck and pergola and I've been gradually filling it with plants. The downside is that I don't have any soil so everything is in pots. But I love it and spend many hours tweaking it. First pic is what it used to look like with the shed and my baskets, second pic is the DIY all done. Third pic is another of my doggies enjoying it!

I don’t have a garden so this thread is great. I do like being out in gardens so am cheating and adding a photo from a garden I visited. I’m not sure where just that it was May 2016

That white peony is to die for, Nemesia1264.
Yes let's hear it for leaving things a bit wild for the wildlife and the bees! Despite having a tiny garden I get the occasional frog (or is it a toad?) because I have so many dark damp bits hidden in among the pots. They are so cute but they make me jump when they suddenly jump out of a dark corner!

boredboredboredboredbored · 06/07/2019 21:16

Tinkywinky thanks so much! I do absolutely love it. When I renovated the house I had doors put in from the kitchen to maximise its use.

I've never had a west facing garden before only East and I can't believe how much of a difference that make.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 06/07/2019 21:22

I see frogs in mine too, @onalongsabbatical
Then I know it's time to cut the grass 😂

Here is my Osteospermum (African Daisy) taken this morning, and again tonight.

It closes in the evening

@Nemesia1264 I too love your peony & @Fontella I love small space gardens-they seem to have more impact & you can appreciate that small bit of outside-I have a small area in what we call the alley of doom (where things go to die) that I'd like to make into a tiny shady paradise one day but am pushing dh to get an allotment so we can put up a poly tunnel as no room for a greenhouse. I have to keep grafting!

buckeejit · 06/07/2019 21:30

@willowtree66 that is lovely & I am a potaholic-things seem to grow better in pots for me. I have stuck a few pots into my raised beds. I'm constantly moving things around as they grow & see what thrives but even or especially with bedding, stuff crammed in pots is much bigger than stuff in bed with more room.

Here's my garden when I moved into my home in dec 18 and then now. Lots of hard work!

These are so beautiful and inspiring! Great idea for a thread @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet ! I cleared my garden today, it was totally overgrown and had been neglected for so long so I'm hoping I can use some ideas here to get it all nice and blooming ☺️ never been a gardener before but fingers crossed!

Fontella · 06/07/2019 22:35

Some of these pics could go in a glossy gardening book. Honestly! They are just lovely.

Keep 'em coming you green fingered lot!
