@AnneKipanki I loved the picture of new bloom, please don't resist more often Grin
I use RHS website to create the list of plants I have in my garden and the list of plants I want to have and Gertrude Jekyll has been added Grin
I've read about Harlow Carr this morning @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet and that's another one that I've added to my list because of it's smell- it says that it's got 'old rose' fragrance Smile and according to RHS website your rose will love full sun Grin
Your aliums will look amazing Grin I have to focus on getting more bulbs rather than roses Grin I went to Homebase last week and they have a good deals if it comes to bulbs, huge packs of bulbs for only £5! And they had Aliums too- 75 bulbs for £10 Smile

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 29/08/2019 10:20

Thanks again @LittleMy123 Smile
I've been out in the garden this morning moving it around and seeing where it's catching sun and where I can see it from various windows from inside my house 🙈Blush I just love it so much. It's a shame it's almost September already Sad
A list is a good idea. I saw another beautiful one I was googling them all night called 'Princess Alexandra' Shock
and yours is really beautiful too @AnneKipanki

I always forget about places like Homebase for bulbs, great idea Smile

Gertrude Jekyll is an excellent rose. I'll get photos of some of mine when they do their last display.

cornstarch · 29/08/2019 15:52

Had a look round the garden, these are all David Austin, but no idea what they are called as the labels are long gone.

We were given a boat a few weeks ago for our pond. Transpired it needed a lot of work to get it fit to be on the water, probably more than buying a functioning boat would cost. So I snatched it from DH's clutches, painted it and well....this is the result.
It needed a name, so I called it 'Orion' after a Metallica song.

I'm totally blown away by this thread. You're all so talented! I'd love a nice garden but I've absolutely no idea where to even start.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 05/09/2019 20:27

@MacavityTheDentistsCat, I am still a novice gardener. I'm googling learning as I go along. In fact, I've made so many errors in the garden, over the years.

You should describe your space, or post a picture, and maybe we can help Smile

AnneKipanki · 06/09/2019 07:42

You could start your own thread @MacavityTheDentistsCat .

For some reason I am unable to post pictures.

AnneKipanki · 06/09/2019 08:23

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 06/09/2019 12:12

That's so typical!
It might surprise you again. I've had a white rose appear today, it wasn't there yesterday.

And yes, I check them every day Grin
