Here are some of my current blooms from around my garden; Cistus, Hydrangea and Mallows, all pink Smile

(I think mumsnet only allow 3 uploads)?

Pales into insignificance with all your lovely gardens but here are the first tomato buds (? Don't even think that is the right word!) that my 20 month old has been religiously watering every night... from a bargain tomato plant cutting from Homebase about a month ago.

The fact that they seem to be bearing fruit make me happy.

@wannabebetter the ‘dusty’ appearance of your lupin leaves sounds like a fungal infection/powdery mildew. You can buy sprays to treat it but I’m not sure how effective they are or how environmentally friendly they are.

@AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet , I have been spraying and cutting the worst off !

I can't find it now 🤷🏻‍♀️ but came to say prettybird your back garden photo is stunning. Beautiful but looks really manageable.

I moved into town/built up area last year and have got tiny gardens after decades of having to look after acres - it is incredibly liberating generally but seeing some of these lovely green gardens makes me miss my old gardens (but not the management of them).

My front garden is a tiny courtyard that was just bare with slabs, south facing. As a quick measure I bought eight trough things last year and filled them with perennials. I wasn't sure whether I would do something with it or not this year but everything has come back really well and I think it can stay for now. I added a few begonias and geraniums earlier on before there was much colour but wish I hadn't done that now.

I am going to wrap a wisteria around the railings - just haven't got round to ordering one yet (the local garden centre offerings aren't that impressive).

I have got someone in sorting out my back garden/patios which will be finished in a few days, will post photos once its done.

Anne, I have had loads of mould/fungal type stuff on things that I have never had anything like that on before. I think its the really wet spells combined with the odd warm day.

I cut back all my nepeta a couple of weeks ago because it was covered with fungus, half my verbena had it too (but I left that).

I think it is just the weather.

AnneKipanki · 14/07/2019 09:25

These are lovely troughs @boxisfree

I'm only just beginning to get into my garden. I'm aiming to transform it with around 3m at the end to be a flowery bee and butterfly garden (it's weeds and tall grass at the minute). We have a few mature trees (pear and some kind of apple) and a couple of plants in pots and that's it! I was gifted a tub of flowers and caught this lovely photo yesterday.

Of course not @WatcherOfTheNight and yes, I have been in the garden all day!

It looks like Japanese Anemone, although I'm happy to be corrected.
Scroll up to my post yesterday at 17.50 Smile

We're in the middle of renovating and moving into a new house but I have a few pots on the go making my patio look lovely and colourful. Olivia Rose Austin, miniature sunflowers and lavender.
