I love Monty and the dogs.

Can’t watch Adam. I find everything about him really annoying! I turned off last night.

Thing is, Monty’s not just a gardener is he? He is obviously a deep and poetic soul.

And he looks lovely in his little Chinese peasant stylee jackets.

The Rich Brothers, now there's an idea. I'd be happy as a pig in mud.

@TinklyLittleLaugh My husband is desperate to emulate Monty's style. I love his popover shirts! And am secretly impressed by how clean his fingernails are, given that he spends much of his time grubbing around in the soil.

Monty said a while ago that he has a team of 7 who manage his garden, and his role in the team is to present GW. I’d love to see the Rich brothers take over - we need a bit of fit and sexy to attract younger viewers. I still think there’s a gap for a truly swoon inducing young gardening presenter though!

Monty has several gardeners and his wife Sarah does a great deal of the work in the garden.

That explains why I found last night's GW so annoying.
Adam just has the fingernails down chalkboard effect on me.

I unexpectedly enjoyed last nights episode. I normally find Adam’s voice really irritating but actually found myself really getting in to it. I wouldn’t want him as full time presenter though. They should set Frances up in a house with some neglected land and let her start from scratch.

Love love Monty. Anyone saw his short series on Japanese gardens? That was great. He does seem suddenly older and more frail in this year's GW.

There are good women gardeners on GQT . Maybe they're too self conscious to be on telly all the time. I like Carol Klein but yes she is SOOOO enthusiastic, I'd like to hear more calmness in her voice. The main problem is how much personal criticism they can take I suppose. it must be soul destroying to hear oneself ripped to shreds !

Whenever Monty decides to stop filming he will be a hard act to follow that's for sure.

My now gone mother could never watch Monty without saying 'He's not as good as Geoff!' (Hamilton), to which I'd retort, 'Now Percy (Thrower), there was a real gardener!' just to wind her up! grin

I'm going to get shot down for saying this, but I don't even know who Adam Frost is! I shall have to watch GW quickly!

I really didn’t enjoy it half as much without Monty he makes the show for me. I do like Francis though would like to see more of her. I find carol a bit too enthusiastic it’s almost annoying.

It's about time a woman took the reins for a few years and Carol Klein would get my vote.

I could also watch Chris Beardshaw all day, mind you...

I think they have to get rid of Monty pretty smartish ,that sweet old dog of his is going to go to the big kennel in the sky soon and I don't think the nation could cope with the wailing and gnashing of teeth that will ensue if it happens during a filming period. One week there....... The next gone.

I love Monty Don.
I remember after the Brexit vote (or it might have been Trump getting in) he signed off with something along the lines of ‘remember that amongst all this chaos there is still gardening which is good and honest and true’.

I expected to really dislike AF and almost didn’t watch, but I really liked him and his pets.

DH is envious of MD’s plank, he wasn’t impressed by AF’s plank.

Adam Frost is a really lovely, genuine guy in RL. He’s just how he seems on the TV, knowledgeable and down to earth.

He’s made his own career and doesn't come from a wealthy background. Please don’t give up on him because he doesn’t have an Oxbridge accent!

I don't usually comment on threads but....Gardeners World is one of my favorite programs. I used i player last night to watch the latest episode and could not view more than 5 minutes of AF horrendous accent and voice aaaarrrggh.
Totally distracted us from the content and location etc. Monty, Nigel and Nell can never leave.

People get used to accents, it's a shame to dislike someone because of it. As long as he knows his stuff and comes over as pleasant IMO it's good to give everyone a proper chance. We've come a long way since RP was the only accent on the telly or radio thank goodness

I didn't like Carol Klein's accent at first but got used to it. On Strictly, I hated Stacey's accent at first, but again got used to it.

Once you are familiar with the person, you stop hearing the accent.

Unbelievable amounts of snob on here just because a man has a normal accent!

All accents are ‘normal’ that doesn’t mean you have to like listening to them!

But BentNeckLady, people wouldn't feel they could say that if the accent was, for example, Scottish. But London is fair game.
