To remind myself as much as anything else!

Aldi have vegetable plug plants in tomorrow, £1.99 each. 10 varieties - pictures show broccoli, caulis, tomatoes, peppers. Also, rhodos for £5.99 if they are your kind of thing.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 30/04/2016 15:16

Orchid is that any 10 plants for just 4.99 for all?!?

JazzAnnNonMouse · 30/04/2016 15:24

It didn't work for me - is there a link?

Orchidflower1 · 30/04/2016 15:33

I just googled www.suttons.co.uk/AFH16 and it came up- that was the site given in the paper. You can choose from packages of lavender, poppies or veggies. They are bigger than plug plants. I'm not sure how to add a link to my post as I'm a bit of a newbie! X

Orchidflower1 · 30/04/2016 15:34

Ooh if you click the web address I've typed it takes you to it- did it without realising!!!

JazzAnnNonMouse · 30/04/2016 19:35

I'm sure we'd all rather have pottery planters but I saw these www.poundstretcher.co.uk/13-glazed-effect-lady-planter the other day and they are very impressive in the flesh .
And come in different colours .

shovetheholly · 05/06/2016 17:35

Wow, cheaper pots are improving by leaps and bounds!! Those look great. Nice size too.

shovetheholly · 14/09/2016 13:24

I think they probably would be that much in a garden centre.

. Sad

Morrisons have some lovely plants in, including some very, very nice verdant hellebores (the white niger kind) for £2.

This link will hopefully take you to some good offers from Parkers bulbs, including 10 allium Mount Everest for £2.99. That might be the cheapest I've seen them!

Ooh look at those tulips

Ive seen a few offers locally, next year I'm going to leave bulb buying later. Well, that's if I have success this time! The only thing that seems to be worth nabbing early is snowdrops, otherwise I've now seen everything being reduced.

HaveYouSeenHerLately · 11/02/2017 14:14

Reviving the thread!

Van Meuwen free delivery weekend plus £5 off your next order code VMWB127XZ Smile

shovetheholly · 11/02/2017 14:46

Ooh, smashing spot!!

Aldi have loads of pretty decent looking watering cans in their sale if anyone wants one!

OP posts:
HaveYouSeenHerLately · 12/02/2017 21:10

Ooh nice! I bought my large watering can in the sale somewhere, maybe Wilko. Very handy it is Grin

I'm off to Aldi tomorrow but ours never seems to have the special buy mark downs I've heard about elsewhere. Well not on anything exciting like gardening!

There's something on HUKD about tripling the value of your Tesco clubcard points at Van Meuwen but I havent properly investigated!

HaveYouSeenHerLately · 23/02/2017 10:43

Aldi klaxon!

The first Aldi gardening event of the season arrives instore on 2nd March but many things are available for pre-order on the website with free delivery!

Includes multipacks of seeds 99p, hand tools £1.99, propagators, compost, vermiculite, perlite, potting benches, mini greenhouses and more.

here

Loads more stuff should be arriving throughout March, April and May Smile

shovetheholly · 23/02/2017 11:57

Oooooh thanks so much for the heads up because there are 10000 things I need in that sale! Not least of which is more greenhouse staging.

You are a Star Oh, and my shed arrived, which I managed to get at a bargainous price thanks to you! It looks like it'll be great and I am so chuffed and grateful!!

OP posts:
HaveYouSeenHerLately · 23/02/2017 15:08

Oh brill! Are you feeling better? Don't try and build the shed before you're 100% Grin

I'm very much enjoying the descriptions of allotment characters. The sieve had me in stitches Grin

I got a bit overexcited as the big Aldi gardening events signal the start of the season to me.
This one's not the most exciting but perhaps it will be the year I actually buy and use vermiculite/perlite. Strangely hard to find round here for a reasonable price so I never bother then regret it when I'm planting up pots Blush

I've just been outside as Doris is hurling stuff around the garden. Righted my 6ft obelisk and glad to see the evergreen honeysuckle I put in last year is raring to go. It's been more obelisk than climber to date.

Sooo much to tidy out there, I've been in denial aargh!

shovetheholly · 24/02/2017 07:42

I am way better thanks! I really feel alive again now! But still a bit weak at the knees when trying to do anything physical, so the shed may have to wait another week while I do gentle, decorous gardening like those ladies off life insurance adverts. Smile

I've never done a proper trial or anything, but I tend to top a lot of pots for lighter seed with vermiculite instead of earth/compost and I swear germination is a bit better! So I will definitely be shoving a bag or two of that in my trolley! I know what you mean about it marking the start of things! Smile
