Well done to @Echobelly’s dc! . Hope that holiday goes well. Are they there yet? I’m sure your booking is fine!

Fantastic that it’s over for your family now. Well done on getting through it @ComingInByAnsible

hmm black or brown @MiniMidiMaxialways a difficult choice!

oh goodness, I hope your cat is found soon @TruffulaTree🤞 and I’m pleased the last exam is today then it’ll all be over!

Sounds the same as DS @AuntyBulgariaDS’s school is bigger than your DS’ but is boys only so they “share the pain “ with the other local schools and have a joint prom, DS hasn’t even said where it is!

My dad had a stroke last night. He’s in hospital but it’s my mum I’m worried about . My sister is going up to the hospital again now so I’ll get a call soon and find out more.

Good luck to all of those with exams today 🌟

Gazelda · 17/06/2026 08:31

Oh @Ventressi hope there’s good news from your Dad. What a worry for you. 🤞 for positive news and your mum is coping ok.

Ventress · 17/06/2026 08:46

Thanks @Gazelda. He’ll be fine I’m sure 😊 mum is more of a worrier (and dad is her carer which complicates things). My sister is all over this so everything will be fine 😊

ComingInByAnsible · 17/06/2026 08:53

Sorry to hear about your Dad, @Ventress. Wishing him a full and speedy recovery. Hope your mum copes ok, it’s great that your sister is on the case!

Echobelly · 17/06/2026 08:58

Well, no panicky phone calls (not that it was likely) so I assume they're on the plane right now and landing in the next half hour!

As I suspect, I slept terribly - wanted to be sure they were out of house on time and they were, and eventually got to sleep after that.

ComingInByAnsible · 17/06/2026 09:06

@Echobelly, sounds like no news is good news. Hope you can catch up on sleep today.

Wow, @Onthesofawithmydog, fine-brushing Lego is taking the cleaning to the next level! Perhaps now that’s done the enthusiasm and energy can be applied to walking the dog and helping with cooking and washing up together with the rest of the family - don’t blame you for getting annoyed!

Katymaus · 17/06/2026 09:18

Good Luck to everyone with exams today!

@bluefineliner @Gazelda @HighburyHope really hoping for a kind French paper today for our YPs.

@TruffulaTree we have leaver's emotional turmoil here too - DD is very sad and emotional about leaving school, even while looking forward to the summer break and what comes next. I think later she'll look back and see how lucky she is to have been so happy at secondary school. And I hope your cat comes home soon, I've been keeping a wary eye on our elderly cat all through the exams.

@Ventress So sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope he recovers well and quickly. Very good that your sister is there to give support to everyone.

@Fabfabfab & @Onthesofawithmydog I'm planning a domestic reset to launch once exams are over! I think we'd all benefit from sharing tasks more equally (DD prep for uni, my sanity and the goodness of DH's soul😁)

@Muchtoomuchtodo I'm so looking forward to DD's main stresses being things like what colour shoes to wear!

Wishing everyone the best possible finish this week

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 17/06/2026 09:19

Good luck to the exam takers today. 🤞

@Ventress I’m so sorry to hear about your dad, I hope he makes a speedy recovery and is home soon. Can you get some carers in temporarily for your mum, although it sounds like they might to look into something more permanent for your dads health also. 💐

bluefineliner · 17/06/2026 11:03

@Ventress sorry to hear about your Dad, hope he can recover well.

@TruffulaTree your DS sounds like my DD on recovering from the exam stress. Although she is now free I think it may take a little time for her to adjust to all this unstructured time.

@ComingInByAnsible congratulations on a completely exam free home!

@Katymaus My DD isn't doing French but my DN is, so very good luck to your DD today.

AQA bio paper 3 went ok yesterday, DD liked the essay subject, said she made a few silly mistakes but overall ok. Seems to be the general feeling on most exams (apart from psych which were all great apparently). DD is very hard on herself so I am not sure how much she'll be able to distance her thoughts from results but hopefully it will get better now as we move away from constant exams.

Good luck for the rest of the week exam takers.

Echobelly · 17/06/2026 11:21

All the best to your dad @Ventress - my mum had a mini stroke about 18 months ago , was a bit scary.

DC and friends were waiting for train when I messaged about half an hour ago so hopefully they're on it now, it takes them to a town very near my parents' house where they should be able to hop on a bus there.

HighburyHope · 17/06/2026 12:22

So sorry to hear the news about your Dad, @Ventress. As if you didn’t have enough going on. Best wishes to him for a good recovery.

Well, DD is now home and “done”. French was good as a finale (her favourite subject). Overall she’s found her A Level papers were OK-to-good, and she’s managed her time pretty well. Timing was a big problem in mocks, so I’m glad she’s conquered that and given herself the chance to show what she can do.

Best on luck to all exam-takers. Nearly there now!

MamOfTwo · 17/06/2026 14:00

Good luck to all with remaining exams! And thoughts to all of us folk who have stuff going on behind the scenes. Talk about the mental load!

DD is enjoying her freedom. Her prom is in a week or so - apparently it is not a big a deal as the Y11 one which involved dresses, hair and nails although somehow I ended up buying her a pair of heels in town earlier!

Tebheag · 17/06/2026 17:56

@Ventress hope your mum and dad are OK.
@MiniMidiMaxi what colour is the suit. I just tell mine if no real difference go with the highest but I have short kids 🤣

Congratulations to all that have now finished.
How many are still going through exams ?

DS is coping with camping getting though lots of texts after reassurance.

AuntyBulgaria · 17/06/2026 18:10

@Tebheag two more exams to go here!

Desperatelyseekinglazysusan · 17/06/2026 18:21

DS has been out with various friends from the end of his exam yesterday and all day today, then he's having 2 sleepovers and then going on his first holiday with his mates! I'm 🤝 missing him at the dinner table already so I'm not sure how ill cope when he hopefully goes to uni!

SilverBlue4 · 17/06/2026 18:32

Just maths paper three left for us Thurs pm

Same here!! Seems like only yesterday she was leaving preschool!!

Desperatelyseekinglazysusan · 17/06/2026 20:45

DS has suddenly decided hes done terribly in everything and he's not going to get the grades for university. But when he came out of the exams and explained to me what he had done, it seemed OK. He did a hell of a lot of revision and loads of essays but I think because the last exam didn't go well hes thinking none of the others went well either. Even in that paper it sounds like he wrote a fair amount. But he ran out of time for the last question and only wrote 2 paragraphs. He finished the other questions though. I'm sure hes just catastrophising but I'm not sure what to do/say. I said if worst comes to the worst he can go into clearing and see if there's anything there or even do a foundation year. Hopefully he'll be able to forget about it until the results come out.

HereWeAreToday · 17/06/2026 20:49

It’s so tricky, and horrible when you know they have put so much work in. Dd has her final exam tomorrow - she’s in the pub watching the football. Probably not the best prep!

Shinyandnew1 · 17/06/2026 22:09

Just the Maths to go tomorrow-DD can’t wait for them all to be over!

Raindropsandposies · 17/06/2026 23:49

Maths tomorrow but also Further Maths on Monday for us. Sounds like it is one of the last exams.

Glittertwins · 18/06/2026 05:07

Last one today - good luck to everyone with the maths.

ArchitectureMum · 18/06/2026 06:31

Good luck to all the mathematicians this afternoon. AQA has pure and statistics today. DD was feeling nervous about it yesterday. Will be so glad when it’s over.

Thats tough @Raindropsandposies having to push through another weekend.

Ventress · 18/06/2026 06:52

Thank you for your good wishes. Dad is home now and will need an operation soon, but we can deal with that 💐I’m at the hospital this morning for an MRI scan (different hospital) so it’s all good! Well you’d think so but DS is asleep’

Very good luck to all the maths students today. You have so totally got this and the end is in sight!

🤩🌟💪

ArchitectureMum · 18/06/2026 07:01

@Ventress glad you Dad has been able to go home and all the best for his surgery and your MRI. You have been so kind to everyone on this thread with all you are having to deal with. xx
