Good luck to all doing exams tomorrow, hope they go well.

Who else still has maths to go next Thursday-I think it’s hard for them to keep up the momentum!

What others are still to come next week?

DS has Chemistry Paper 3 in the morning and then finally maths P3 on Thursday. Not that I’m counting the minutes or anything! 😂

Echobelly · 14/06/2026 21:21

All the best for what I guess is the final week for everyone?

I have checked in DC and friends for their flight Wednesday morning! And booked a taxi because I don't want to have to drive to Stansted and back at 4am on a weekday...

MiniMidiMaxi · 14/06/2026 21:33

DS will finish on Thursday with Maths - a high % of his year do Maths A level and have this as their last exam so there are Big Plans - he will probably need to be picked up at some unknown point in the evening, but I’ll be away for work so that’ll be DH on duty! He then has a week where it sounds like we’ll hardly see him before our family holiday. Not sure room tidying fits into the schedule!

Good luck for the exams tomorrow!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 14/06/2026 21:39

Keep on plodding on. Welsh mathematicians finished last week, probably because they only had 2 maths and 2 FM papers as they’d also done 2 of each for AS level last year.

DS has great plans for this week - a nice 10 mile walk, back to work, prom and then off on his first boys foreign holiday!

The finish line is definitely in sight now for everyone.

HighburyHope · 14/06/2026 23:01

French is also in the mix this week (Wed am) - which will be DD’s last.

ArchitectureMum · 14/06/2026 23:32

RS (Ethics) for DD tomorrow afternoon and she also has Maths (Pure and Statistics) as her last exam on Thursday.

Not long to go now.

Gazelda · 15/06/2026 07:42

DD’s got politics Tuesday then french Wednesday.

And then … who knows?

She won’t talk about how she wants to celebrate (I’ve got a restaurant booked but she’d probably prefer to stay home and watch the football). Prom on Friday (she hasn’t got an outfit yet). Then we’re supposed to go on holiday first week in July but she hasn’t got headspace to think about where she wants to go.

she needs to find a job over the summer. And learn to drive. And she’d prefer an apprenticeship to uni, so that’s on the to do list.

poor kid, the pressure never ends.

Ventress · 15/06/2026 08:21

Good luck to everyone (most of our yp it seems!) who have got exams this week! You have got this 💪🌟

oh goodness @Echobelly you have some week’ I don’t blame you about the taxi

that’s nice @MiniMidiMaxi😊 your DS will have a great time.

book those tickets “@TruffulaTree! Sounds like you will have relaxing break, with or without lego. I’ve sort of banned Lego as we just don’t have space anymore- between dh’s Star Wars Lego, my Harry Potter. DS used to do lord of the rings but hasn’t for several years now. 😊

my nephew just has chem and biology too. We will see them at the weekend for Father’s Day which will be good,

good luck @JustHereWithMyPopcornand @au@AuntyBulgaria! Your son have most certainly got this!

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 15/06/2026 09:14

Good luck to exam takes today! Hopefully everyone is wrapped up this week and we can take a collective sigh of relief.

I have started packing for my holiday, can't wait to go and just chill out and restore some equilibrium.

Katymaus · 15/06/2026 10:14

Congratulations to everyone who's finished and good Luck to everyone taking exams this week - all our YPs are so nearly there!

DD has her last one - French - on Wednesday! She is SO tired out now, just hoping the adrenalin will get her through the next 48 hours.

I haven't posted for a few days because for some reason I can't post messages on my phone, though I can read fine, not sure why - it's totally frustrating when I'm free to comment/reply when I'm out and about...
@Ventress thanks for the brilliant recipe thread. I've got a couple to contribute and seen so many great ideas on there already.
To all who are encouraging / helping with room clearing, this is high on the list here too, seems like a really positive way to mark the start of of a new chapter.
Hoping for a great day for all those taking exams today!

Ventress · 15/06/2026 10:45

Good luck to your dd for french on Wednesday @Katymaus!

The recipe thread has worked really well and, as someone up thread said, it hasn’t been taken over by the “well they should be cooking three star Michelin star quality food by now”. Which is great!

DSis poorly so the room clear and cleanse is on hold for a few days 🙄

Wehaditsogood · 15/06/2026 10:48

I started to worry about prom. I don't remember seeing anything about it, but there have been and will be several black-tie leavers' events. Maybe it is not called prom.

When anyone notices the vaccination invites going out, would you let us know, please? Who knows when DS notices.

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 15/06/2026 12:33

DS back from Edxcel Chemistry smiling. He feels it went well except for the last question which none his friends could answer either. Only one more to go!!

I've just realised Prom is this Friday. I'd better check he has everything in order..

ArchitectureMum · 15/06/2026 17:24

RS is over! Paper 3 was probably the best of the three. Two clear days now until the last one on Thursday. Maths along with lots of others on here. Most of her friends have already finished which is not so fun for her but she has plans with some old friends who also do Maths for Thursday evening.

Ventress · 15/06/2026 18:12

We have prom on Friday too. As usual I am “need to know” so know nothing! You and I will just have to relax and accept it @Wehaditsogood! Will mention if the vaccinations go out 😊

Sounds like good results @JustHereWithMyPopcornsnd @ArchitectureMum- well done to them both 👏

HereWeAreToday · 15/06/2026 18:43

i can’t believe they are all almost done! I always thought that Dd would kind of know how well she had done so the results wouldn’t be too much of a surprise, but I now know she hasn’t really got a clue. It’s going to be a long summer waiting

MiniMidiMaxi · 15/06/2026 21:11

Glad that RS and Chemistry went well today. DS has been trying to stay focused for tomorrow (FM Decision) but his brother finished his GCSEs this morning so is being a bit distracting! That and the World Cup - though it would be worse if the games were on during the day!

Hope all those who have finished are enjoying themselves. It can sometimes feel a bit anticlimactic I think, at least initially until they settle into their free time.

bluefineliner · 16/06/2026 06:22

Morning all,

@Katymaus I think they are running on adrenaline now, good luck for Weds with French, my DN has this as her last too.

@Ventress do you think there is a tendency for DSs to forget to inform parents of proms? I can't imagine DD keeping it to herself (or any other minute detail of her life to me! 😂). DDs prom is the day after results day and I think will be more of a pub crawl than formal prom so I'm not involved in any arrangements for this one, but very much was for GCSE.

@MiniMidiMaxi I agree about the anticlimax, DD has been so looking forward to today, her last exam (bio paper 3) but I too think she will be a bit directionless initially as she has been so immersed in revision for so long. Luckily she starts her new job on Saturday so this will be a good distraction.

@ArchitectureMum good luck for Maths on Thursday along with anyone else sitting it, I admire anyone doing maths to this level.

DD was happy ish with chem paper 3 yesterday (AQA) so one left this morning and she is free. We are going out for tea to celebrate the end of exams and to try and pretend we are chilled about waiting for results 😁.

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 16/06/2026 07:42

Good luck to the exam takers today, Biology I think today?

Ventress · 16/06/2026 08:06

I sort of thought that too @HereWeAreToday but DS only has a vague idea about how well he did. I guess GCSEs were the same - some DS was happy with, mainly stem, and others which were more difficult to place.

glad chemistry went well’

i think the first England match is tomorrow evening isn’t it @MiniMidiMaxi? Might be distracting for those last few tests. agree about distraction!

dais works as the business admin person at her and my nephew’s school so she’s way on top on things going on 😊 and a very usful person to know 😂I’m not sure if nephew will go to his prom. He’ is ND so sis tends to let him decide. DS missed his gcse prom because the school changed the date and we were on holiday 🙄 he is (I think) looking forward to this prom! The issue is that when we ask a question - e.g “you want dad to take you in the lotus?” And you just get “yeah, maybe” which doesn’t really help 🙄

I would love it if DS were more expressive 😊 @bluefineliner

good luck to dd @Katymaussnd @bluefineliner’s dd with french tomorrow.

You guys have got this 🌟

Ventress · 16/06/2026 08:08

Good luck for biology @JustHereWithMyPopcorn!

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 16/06/2026 10:24

DS not doing Biology @Ventress but I think it's on today so I was just wishing good luck to anyone who is. 😊

TruffulaTree · 16/06/2026 10:49

A little on tenterhooks today - DS's last paper (AQA Biol) but he was largely ok with yesterday's Chemistry, I think. Today's biology includes the infamous essay as part of the paper which sounds fiendishly hard to hack into the top level of marks. Ah well. It'll all be over and done with by about 11.15. He's hanging around to wait for friends who have maths and I really hope they'll all then go and at least have a Costa or something!

TruffulaTree · 16/06/2026 10:52

Oh and prom? ('Summer Ball' here) I'd forgotten it was a thing that he'd booked a ticket for, or when it was. He reminded me a few days ago - it's end of the month. He brought it up because he needed to think about clothes ... two weeks to go. 🙄😆 It's not easy finding him things as he's slight and short. Hopefully we'll manage something. I couldn't resist pointing out that several of my friends' girls have been fine-tuning their prom dress options for months!
