@SilverBlue4 it's Edexcel FM further pure.

HighburyHope · 12/06/2026 22:24

Some FM and RS papers are on Monday 22nd.

Newlease · 12/06/2026 22:34

@AuntyBulgaria Yeap, FM Stats, DD was not a fan, but went pretty well considering the anxiety! @bluefineliner It went okay, and now did a Friday night movie and prom shopping tmrw, last exam Maths paper 3 on Thursday. What you wrote made me think about last summer holidays, we booked it very early without knowing any time lines, and DD had to book her ESAT from Portugal. And since coming from holidays, it was pretty much intense, exams, ESAT, interviews, worrying out PS ( probably me, but! ) one more week and like someone else said, loooong wait for the results:(
@MiniMidiMaxi @ComingInByAnsible @wonderstuff It must be good to have them both doing together in one year, I can’t even think of a GCSE after this, next year or so!!
saw a bunch of kids on the road, just hanging out and I thought A levels straight away, probably done today!! No plans for end of exam outing for us, but I made Brownies today to mark big week

Ventress · 13/06/2026 07:11

I’m sure those who had exams yesterday did well. I hope you have a good weekend- either revising or able to relax 🙂

Muchtoomuchtodo · 13/06/2026 08:06

Well I heard DS get home just after 3am so it’s safe to say he’s moved on from his exams, no drinking, bed by 10pm, up by 8.30am mode pretty quickly! 🤣

gingercat02 · 13/06/2026 08:46

DS stayed out on Thursday night, 25 of them at a house party. I.took him and my Mum for lunch yesterday to mark the end of exams. He has a load of catch-up 18th parties coming up.

ComingInByAnsible · 13/06/2026 11:43

So nice to read about more YP finishing! Congrats to @BlackBean2023, @MamOfTwo, @gingercat02, @Fabfabfab, @Tebheag, @Muchtoomuchtodo, @Onthesofawithmydog DC and others! What are your children up to now? DS has been enjoying a few days of doing very little apart from gaming, meeting up with friends and his girlfriend (who still have more exams to go) and going to the gym. He did deep-clean his room of his own volition though (including very thorough vacuuming while I was on an important work call 😁). @Tebheag, hope the camping goes well, and @gingercat02 and @Muchtoomuchtodo, hope your DS enjoy the much deserved drinks and parties!

Strength and energy to those with more exams to go - you’ve got this! 💪

@Newlease, thanks, the A level/GCSE combo actually hasn’t been too bad as we were all in the work hard mode and the stresses kind of distracted from each other 😂. DD16 has just two more GCSE exams to go next week, then our household is done!
But there are definitely advantages to doing them consecutively, I am sure you’ll be ready when the time comes again! 💪

@wonderstuff, it’s a dilemma what to do wrt Men B for Year 11, isn’t it? I’ve discussed the risks, pros and cons with DD and leaving it to her to decide.

@Ventress, hope your stay is going well and that you are back home soon. Thanks for the recipe thread, what a great idea! DS can make a few basics, he definitely needs to expand his repertoire over the summer!

@Fabfabfab, sorry to read you’ve been ill, glad you are better now - just in time for better weather hopefully!

Happy belated birthday to your DC, @Echobelly! 🎂🥳🎉

@hels71, hope your surgery goes well 💐

Onthesofawithmydog · 13/06/2026 11:47

@ComingInByAnsible my dd has also begun the deep clean of her bedroom! I did suggest that taking down all the revision materials from her wall and all the study books may help her decompress as she was still feeling yesterday ‘like I should be revising’ 😂 we have a 2 week holiday in Thailand booked at end of June, followed by her 18th bday and then she is off interrailing with a friend for three weeks. I will probably be back on this thread then for moral support! 😭😭😂 then we are into August and the countdown to ‘the day’… really hope everyone else has an amazing summer!

Echobelly · 13/06/2026 13:26

DC was very happy with biology paper yesterday, which I was pleased about as I know they're not so confident with it; they feel pretty prepared for their final paper on Tuesday. They've been making me chuckle as sometimes to revise their flashcards they've taken them out rollerskating and I've occasionally been driving back from the gym and seen them skating up and down looking at flashcards 😅

bluefineliner · 14/06/2026 07:10

@Echobelly rollerskating whilst revising flash cards takes some coordination and dexterity, I'm very impressed your YP can do this! Glad they thought bio 2 was ok too, not long to go now til paper 3. This will be DD's last exam so we are all very much looking forward to Tues afternoon!

Because we are close to the end I keep tentatively mentioning clearing bedrooms, setting bank accounts up... all the things that have been put off for months because 'I'm revising!' 😂I feel a list will be started soon by me, maybe even the dishwasher might be loaded and unloaded after Tuesday?? who knows 😁.

Good luck to the remaining exam takers, I think Maths/FM are the latest ones?

Muchtoomuchtodo · 14/06/2026 07:56

Roller skating while revising is very impressive @Echobelly!

Hope the remaining exams go well for everyone and the return of the good weather isn’t too much of a distraction

BlackBean2023 · 14/06/2026 08:12

I am helping DD deep clean her room today and tackle her wardrobe of horrors - she needs to have a proper clear out before University and it feels like a great time to transition - she’s a proper grown up now; all the school uniform, books etc can go!

Ventress · 14/06/2026 08:35

Good luck all of those doing deep cleans of bedrooms! We have told DS to clear out and clean his room but the results are unimpressive. I think we’ll have to help 🙄

@Echobellylove the idea of roller skating whilst doing flash cards, Like @bluefinelinerI’m very impressed!

Good luck to your dd for Tuesday, and best of luck to those taking exams next week. The end is in sight 😀

Glittertwins · 14/06/2026 08:41

It’s good to read I’m not the only one that has requested a complete tidying up of their rooms!!

AuntyBulgaria · 14/06/2026 08:46

Solidarity with those with exams still to do and a clean bedroom sounds fantastic so I am very much going to be pushing that idea when the time comes.

I fell down a you tube black hole last night of watching young people opening their a level results!! I had to stop myself and turn it off as it will drive me mad. My DS hasn't even finished taking them yet!

Nothing here until Thursday and then Friday.

Fabfabfab · 14/06/2026 08:52

DC asked if he could burn his econ papers in the fire pit! Not sure it's very environmentally friendly... I wonder if they should keep everything until results day in case there are any problems e.g. they are accused of using AI for coursework or if they need to resit (heaven forbid!). Would be more therapeutic (and tidy) if they could recycle things sooner rather than later though. He wants to keep History and English as he enjoyed those subjects more.

Good luck to those with exams next week! Can't believe it's the end of a-levels. This group has been so supportive and it's really helped checking in here. Sounds like there are some lovely plans between now and results day. DC is going away with his girlfriend in July and will be attempting to find some work now.

Glittertwins · 14/06/2026 10:06

I’ve also said no to the burning of revision notes until results day (if at all - paper recycling bin is probably more environmentally friendly).

Echobelly · 14/06/2026 10:13

DC says the movement of rollerskating helps them remember stuff when they're getting bored of revision!

They're starting to pack for next week's week away with friends.

Tebheag · 14/06/2026 17:10

@ComingInByAnsible DS also done his room forgot how much floor space there was, he managed to miss all his papers in 2nd living room though 🙄 . Will deal with on Wednesday when DD is finished her exams.

DS is now gone for a week on holiday just completed his longest drive to Devon!

Good luck to any sitting exams tomorrow

Shinyandnew1 · 14/06/2026 18:00

Who else still has maths to go next Thursday-I think it’s hard for them to keep up the momentum!

What others are still to come next week?

SilverBlue4 · 14/06/2026 18:47

Maths here on Thursday pm, and computer science Wednesday morning.

I think there is also biology, chemistry and politics 3 amongst others, at the beginning of the week, from what my son's friends are up to.

hels71 · 14/06/2026 19:20

Maths on Thursday here too. Trying to persuade DD to sort her bedroom, but she's rather busy sorting out props for Blackadder at our local theatre....keeps her busy!! ( And my living room is covered in paint and Modroc....)

Lalux · 14/06/2026 19:24

Chemistry tomorrow, Biology Tuesday and Maths Thursday here. He’s definitely been finding it hard to keep up the momentum. Good luck everyone for the final stretch.

TruffulaTree · 14/06/2026 19:43

Just the Chemistry and Biology to go for us now - tomorrow and Tuesday. I blinked and suddenly we seem to have gone from DS having about 6 left to down to the last two! He seems to be happy with most of his papers, the odd wobble or uncertainty, but I think it'll be ok.

We're not at all organised and I seem to have had a mental block over booking something for us all. We always go to the same place and stay with family (EU) so we'll have somewhere to go, but bloody hell, I must get on and book flights!

DS is hanging on until Wednesday and has a huge Lego project lined up to celebrate ... they all do so in their own ways! Grin Suggesting we clean out his bedroom is an excellent idea, I'm feeling weak and exhausted at the very idea of it...

Nearly there! Good luck to everyone.

AuntyBulgaria · 14/06/2026 19:50

Just maths on Thurs and FM Friday and then it's over 🥳
