@BlackBean2023 fingers crossed the exam went better than she thinks.
@JustHereWithMyPopcorn my hayfeaver is bad been hiding mainly indoors except for the drive to work.
@Muchtoomuchtodo Just laughed reading your post while sipping a very large glass of wine. DD is doing Gcses and just reminded me she will be doing ALevel maths so no break next year.

Can't even relax with DS who finished his exams he is off for a week camping with his gf at the weekend just been teaching him how to use the cooking stove.

ArchitectureMum · 11/06/2026 07:17

Good luck to everyone with Maths today. Hope Edexcel are kinder with paper 2 than they were with paper 1. DD finds the mechanics part of Maths the most challenging so will be glad when this one is done - she is doing AQA.

AuntyBulgaria · 11/06/2026 07:22

Thank you @ArchitectureMum. Good luck to your DD.
More pure for Edexcel today. Stats and mechanics is next week for DS and that's his weakest paper. 3 more exams to go!

gingercat02 · 11/06/2026 07:34

Good luck to the maths people today, hope for some balance from the paper from hell
Last one today 😃😃😃😃. One hour of history (Germany) and we are done ✔️ 🙌 👏

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 11/06/2026 07:41

Good luck to everyone today, thoughts and prayers particularly to those of us with Edexcel Pure paper 2 🙏 😄

@ArchitectureMum our Paper 3 is mechanics and Stats, DS loves mechanics but hates stats so it’ll be a mixed feeling next week!

Ventress · 11/06/2026 07:56

good work @Tebheag

I have got some recipes so may start the uni recipe thread we all spoke about later today ☺️

Good luck to everyone doing maths 3 today. You guys have got this! The end is in sight too 💐👍♥️

Good luck to others with exams today! 🤞

Ventress · 11/06/2026 07:57

And paper 2 maths! (Sorry missed that one)

Ventress · 11/06/2026 08:09

That’s fab @gingercat02- just Germany to deal with and then it’s all over ☺️

Tebheag · 11/06/2026 08:19

Good luck to all doing maths 🤞
@gingercat02 hope the last exam goes well.

GirlsInGreen · 11/06/2026 08:27

Good luck for all DC having maths today. Hoping its a nice paper🤞

Gazelda · 11/06/2026 08:38

Sending positive vibes for a good edexel maths today. Poor kids deserve it.

mine is doing history today. She’s completely exhausted and doesn’t feel as though she’s prepared enough because she was concentrating on 2 papers on Monday. She’s studying 10 hours a day, I don’t know where she could have found any more time.

she also told me last night that she’s strategically decided not to cram one of the topics because it’s been in 5 of the last 6 papers so she’s certain it won’t come up today. if it does, she’ll have to dig into her long term memory.

I tried to hide my alarm from her. It was too late to counsel her at that point. So please pray with me that Canada doesn’t come up!

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 11/06/2026 09:17

@Gazelda praying for no Canada for your DD! Poor thing, 10 hours a day is a lot, hopefully it pays off.

Did anyone else's DC get an email from Notts today about this data breach? The typo in the email header made me think it was fake but then I saw the news report on FB.

Echobelly · 11/06/2026 11:19

DC just back from final history paper, very happy with how all of them went. Annoyingly not finished until Tuesday, when I know quite a few people are some this week!

Ventress · 11/06/2026 11:59

No Canada vibes heading your dc’s @Gazelda

hope it goes well for everyone doing history , well done to @Echobelly and everyone else today, a really busy day on the timetable! The end is in sight 😊
I saw about the data breach on Tv this morning @JustHereWithMyPopcornI hope ds1 isn’t affected.

Wehaditsogood · 11/06/2026 11:59

@AuntyBulgaria We are the same. We need the mother of all remontadas (reference to Real Madrid comebacks in Champions League) today for Maths.
DS has worked so hard.
He is a good cook, too. I am not making cooked lunch every day. 😁

Fabfabfab · 11/06/2026 12:24

DC has now finished a-levels!!! Can't quite believe it! He said History 3 went really well today, really liked the first two questions and thought Q3 was 'pretty good too' although couldn't remember all the dates. He's now helping his girlfriend with revision for Maths and is going out with some friends tonight to watch the first world cup match. Tomorrow we are going out to his favourite restaurant for dinner to celebrate as a family. I'm just about well enough after my horrendous cold and so pleased DC didn't come down with it!

@Gazelda hope History went well today - my DC did medieval history so no idea if Canada came up or not but hoping your DD did really well!

Hope Maths goes well this pm - surely it must be easy after what happened last time with Edexcel. Fingers crossed it will be a breeze!

@Ventress thanks for settling up the recipes thread - I would have done it myself but felt slight 'imposter syndrome' as I'm not that good at cooking ;)

Echobelly · 11/06/2026 12:52

DC's birthday tomorrow but they have a morning exam, so will have to leave early. We're all meeting up for dinner in the evening and they're meeting friends in the afternoon to have a birthday hangout at a city farm. The giant personalised birthday cookie I ordered for them has arrived so I will give it to them in the morning and tell them to share with friends!

gingercat02 · 11/06/2026 13:45

Germany was brilliant apparently! He's now free to focus completely on the World Cup (and get a blooming job!)

Desperatelyseekinglazysusan · 11/06/2026 13:48

DS did history P3 this morning and said it was his best one- after a year of moaning about how boring The Tudors was, moaning that he would have aced the Wars of the Roses/Plantaganets/Stuart's basically every medieval time period apart from that one, visits to sites of Tudor rebellions everywhere we went after his teacher told him to try and muster some enthusiasm for it! He said the last question was basically the one he'd done a practice question on last night so 🤞

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 11/06/2026 13:49

So good to hear that this morning's exams went well!! I hope those that are finishing this week have a lovely long rest now.

Ventress · 11/06/2026 14:03

Glad to hear that history 3 was good! Lovely to hear about those who have finished completely like @Fabfabfab Well done everyone, you are amazing!

DS came to visit me yesterday and was bored (unsurprisingly). He and DH then went into town and the Apple Store and John Lewis to look at laptops. I think they’ve decided on a Mac book air. Looks nice, but i know very little about laptops. I leave that to DH!

I hope maths goes well 😊🤞

Please post on my new thread in Higher education about recipes. I have very much dumbed down’

HereWeAreToday · 11/06/2026 15:45

Any reports from edexcel maths today?

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 11/06/2026 16:06

DS just got home and it went awfully. He doesn’t want to talk about it. He went in so confident as well.

HereWeAreToday · 11/06/2026 16:16

Sorry to hear that. Dd thought it was okay - but just doing the Tik tok watching and gradually realising that it might not have gone okay!

Wehaditsogood · 11/06/2026 16:18

@HereWeAreToday DS thought it was better than paper 1, but he doesn't want to jinx it. It is quite a low bar though.
DS has hardly left the house between the two exams. He has been working so hard. I told him that I am proud of him however it went (because I am a overinvested parent).
