The Lady Chatterley court case was made into rather a strange drama with the actor who was Leonard Bast I think, about the two jurors affected by the proceedings. Otherwise, I think it is quite an important piece of History, because of the prosecution statement about "servants and wives", was it?. And it was already a world that had vanished by 1962, the Big House and the WW1 survivors etc. Poor Lawrence is not very fashionable atm tbh.
The student who died told her tutors how she felt, I think it was that there was no proper way of getting help for her and no-oneperson was in charge of her case (NHS wise), that is what was shocking. But I think that to be able to present your work, is an important skill, and the fact that she could not and so incredibly anxious about it, was flagging up how ill she was. Why on earth wouldn't they alert someone..it is like not being able to leave the house.
ds seems a bit low today. He is reliving some embarassing moments from last term - I am actually relieved he has, I think it was burdening him, but clearly lacks friends who he can say these things to, wanting always to present a cheery with it straightforward personality to his new mates. He did some work for me, it was like pullilng teeth. I sent him to the shop for groceries and he brought back everything different..and refused to acknowledge there was such a vegetable as petits pois. It didn't help that he met his younger brother in Morrisons and together they rubbished my request for tomato seedlings, ds2 suggested cactus plants instead, and as for coat hangers they trailed around in search of them but never discovered where they could possibly be..Men do not like to ask directions do they?

Happy Birthday to Ursula and Tapas!
