It is weird to think that last year I had the GSCES and A Levels [or shall I say my poor children did]. It was strangely exhilarating, but I do remember that hanging on by your finger nails by proxy feeling when dd had a week of back to back exams and crying over all the last minute things she had to cram into her poor head. English Literature went terribly badly, and the results showed (a 4,when she was expecting a 6 or 7) But having been through that, she is a stronger wiser person. And I feel now thoroughly immunised to anything that results day can bring!!! touchwood.
Chocolate that is wonderful your dd is helping others and being so professional.
Ds helped out today in the family business [very briefly, a spot of lifting], and then found himself walking down the King's Road. The first time he has ever been wandering around London sightseeing, despite living here
He said he wanted to go and visit the part of London full of "suits" next (The City) because he liked the idea that he didn't have to worry about anything 9-5 for the next few years!!! Leaving school has been a bit of a delayed shock to him, a nice shock but still..he is still adjusting to the idea that he is a grownup and can wander around in the daytime, not wearing uniform without being given a detention..
We managed to fall out over the term Baroque though. Suffice it to say his research methods are not very advanced.
I've booked him onto a cooking course in early July, he seems relieved. It is apparently full of Gold D of E ers, doing their skills section but he didn't mind that, having not done Gold or Silver
